The Elemental Sisters: Spirit

Chapter Chapter Thirteen (Akasha)

"You're a fucken Prince?" Ari asked in disbelief, as we exited the throne room.

"Why didn't you tell us?" I asked, confused. It really didn't make a difference if he was royalty or not. "The prince likes you." Ela teased me when I frowned.

"Princes come with a lot of baggage." Karm commented.

He shrugged, "People tend to find out who I am and treat me differently and I didn't want you to." "He wanted you to like him for who he is, not what he is." Ela smiled.

"We are not that shallow.” I noted as he nodded and kept walking.

I looked around at the splendor, everything was made of marble. The walls and columns were white marble, and the floors were black marble, everything was cleaned to perfection, we followed him down a long hallway that was open to the courtyard, even the courtyard cobblestones were black marble stark against the greenery and flowers that lined the walkways and entrances.

As beautiful as this place was, I missed the forest, everything here was a little too organized for my liking.

He stopped outside a large wooden door that had extravagant carvings, before opening the door he warned, "There's four bedrooms in this room. It is more of a suite, one of you may have to share, I apologize; my father has guests taking up the other rooms."

"It's fine." I answered, thinking it is better than the cave we stayed in and even in the home we shared with our parents we shared rooms."

My sisters entered the room, and I moved to follow but he grabbed my wrist, stopping me, "Can I speak to you alone for a minute?"

I looked at Ela and Karm; they nodded and disappeared.

I nodded as we moved to stand beside the door, letting it close. I thought he would speak, but instead he led me down the hallway, outside and into the courtyard.

"Why are you so worried?" I asked, noticing his expression.

"You know you and your sisters could be killed in the battle against Taoen, right?"

"My sisters and I will be facing each other. We are hardly a threat to the other, I mean, Ari is a little unpredictable, but we grew up with her and we know how to handle any accidental slips. We have been training together since we could walk." I smiled. "We may not look like it, but we are very experienced with our gifts."

"I know but Taoen doesn't, I know you are the leader and the oldest of your sisters and strong, but he's stronger and unpredictable, He has no control."

"What do you mean?" I asked, curiously.

Tyr hesitated for a moment, "He controls all five elements, or at least he tries to."

I froze, "That's not possible. No one can control all five elements and for him to control any element, he would have to be a pixie or a dragon."

"He's only half elf. If he beats you, then you will be executed for being frauds."

"Well, it's a good thing we are the elemental sisters, isn't it?" I replied, my voice shaking, great now he's going to think I'm a coward.

"No, I won't think you're a coward."

"What?! I didn't say that out loud." I accused.

"No, you didn't." He replied, seeming embarrassed.

"You can read minds?" I gaped at him. As his faced reddened and he looked guilty.

"Yes, I catch bits and pieces of a person's thoughts, the closer I am to a person, the stronger the connection."

I could feel my face heat as everything that I thought since I had met him played in my head. I hope he didn't hear anything too embarrassing." "How many conversations in my mind did you hear exactly?" I asked, as I narrowed my gaze at him.

"All of them since I met you." He smiled, my brain automatically thinking how sexy his smile was. Damn it, he heard that, and I knew because his smile got bigger. "How could you read everything in my mind when I barely know you?" I asked him.

"I feel connected to you, like we have known each other forever."

Odd, I felt the same way, but I knew I had never met him before.

"Maybe I should read your mind, mind invader." I accused.

"You can read minds as well?"

"Only when I want to, one of the first things I learned was to block out others, it got too confusing and got me in a lot of trouble because of our laws." I pointed out.

"Being able to control spirit gives me access to things that are unseen, people's consciousness for one, people's souls and reading their life threads, and the obvious speaking and understanding spirits as well as controlling them."

His gaze darkened, "I just explained that I don't have any control over my ability." He explained, looking uncomfortable, or was it more nervous?

"Relax, I don't read minds without permission, I promised to only use my abilities for good, besides if I were to use it selfishly bad things could happen."

"Like what?" He looked concerned.

"It doesn't matter." I replied while repeating, don't think about it over and over in my head.

He laughed then, not chucked, but full out laughed. "What?" I asked defensively.

"You are adorable." He replied after his laughing had ebbed.

"Adorable?" I frowned.

"I didn't mean it as an insult."

"I know, but when I think of adorable, I picture a chubby kid with pigtails."

He chuckled as he moved to face me, his hand on my shoulders, he looked at me seriously, "You are nothing if not a beautiful woman who has seemed to bewitch me."

He replied before leaning down and kissing me, catching me off guard at first but then returned it letting my instinct take over.

I heard whistling coming from behind me.

"You work it girl!" Ari cheered and Gia laughed and scolded Sunama and Huricana for watching.

Tyr broke away with a smile as my face heated in embarrassment.

"Jerk." I thought to Ari.

"Hey just think of me as your loud and annoying birth control. If I can't get any, neither can you," she cackled evilly as she walked back into the room.

"I'll see you later." He spoke as he tucked a stray piece of my hair behind my ear and headed back to the throne room.

Gia walked up to me, "so look at you finding yourself a prince." She laughed.

"I don't care that he's a Prince I retorted. I just like what I have seen of him so far."

"Oh, I bet. Look at that ass." She whistled as I punched her in the arm.

"You know I was talking about personality, right?" I glared. "You and your dirty mind need to simmer."

"Yeah, so you keep saying." She rolled her eyes with a laugh.

"Let's go, it's getting late."

We turned walking back to our room, stupid sisters just had to interrupt us. So not cool. Revenge will be sweet.
