Chapter Chapter Thirty Eight (Akasha)
"Bram.... Ward." Ezryn yelled.
They looked up from their respective fights and looked at us as they blocked their attackers. "What?" Bram yelled.
"We need you to watch over these two." Ezryn shared, motioning to Prince Uda and his guard.
Ward and Bram finished their battles quickly and worked their way towards us, knocking soldiers out of the way and blocking stray blades. Once they were guarding the asshole prince, I turned and told Ezryn my plan.
Once that was done, I went to help Tyr with the men that had surrounded him. I made myself invisible again and walked through the crowd, knocking the men unconscious, I could feel my energy fading using too much of my abilities. I would have to be careful not to use anymore, controlling the dark spirits drained more than I thought it had.
Once I was beside Tyr, I helped him defeat the surrounding group; they cut him up and he was bloody but still standing. "Are you okay?" I asked him.
He blocked an oncoming sword and nodded. I thought to him, "I have a plan. Do you trust me?"
"Always, Go I got this." he told me.
I looked at the crowd and back to him, "I'll be fine. Go."
I nodded and walked over to Gia, "Are you almost done?" she glowered at me, "does it look like I am done?" she motioned to the field.
"No," I scanned the field, "Not even close, But I need your help."
"With what?" she sighed as she finished bandaging the man in front of her, and turned to look at me, her face was speckled with blood. She looked tired as well.
"Can you build a jail from the earth?" I asked her. "If you and Sunama make the area too soft for the soldiers, they will sink down in their armor and give you enough time to create a wall to trap them for now, Huricana can dry the earth later."
"I will need Ari's help as well." She replied, looking towards them. They were fighting off a group of men. Ari used her fire to scare them but accidentally set them on fire, Sunama was quick to dump water on them. She used the water to cut off their air supply until they fell to the ground unconscious.
"Yeah no prob." Ari smiled as Sunama nodded. As they half listened while blocking more of the soldiers.
I scanned the field for Tyr. He was fighting three men, all of them were covered in blood as he blocked attacks and struck back at his enemies, Mohan went to help him fight them off.
"Tyr, can you try to get them into the center of the field?" I thought to him.
"Yeah, we should be able to." He replied. "What do you have in mind?" "Hopefully it works. I hate having to kill my own men." he thought to me.
"We can help, push them into the middle of the field." Ela shared.
"Sorry, I can't risk using anymore of my ability. I used too much already." I frowned.
She nodded and watched the battle. "Karm and I will deal with those two spirits before they can do you any harm.”
"Thanks, Ela, but one thing at a time."
I turned my attention back to the battle as a man ran towards me; I blocked his blow and kicked him, sending him back, he launched himself at me again and I sidestepped. Taoen stepped in front of me.
"What are you doing?" I yelled at him, pissed that he had interfered in my fight.
"I am supposed to protect you." He replied
"On whose orders?" I snapped.
"Tyr's and my own." He replied, looking at me.
"Out of my way Taoen."
He shook his head, blocking another attack.
Letting my power consume me, I ordered again, "Out... of... my... way."
Taoen's body moved against his will, and he moved out of the way, I quickly moved and knocked out the man he had been fighting and headed for my sisters.
I looked back at the battlefield the traitor soldiers were pushed into the center by Tyr's men.
I looked at Gia, "Now Gia... Sunama." I yelled.
They nodded, Sunama's eyes turned turquoise as water rose up and soaked the ground creating a muddy sinking battlefield when they were trapped, Gia took over her eyes shifted from their honey brown to emerald, green the earth shook as she concentrated on forming a wall around the men in the center of the field, Sunama summoned water and wet the ground as it rose and once the wall was high enough that no one could climb out Ari heated the earth with fire sealing them in. Gia collapsed to the ground, exhausted.
Her feet and calves had turned to stone, cursing I ran over to her.
"Gia are you okay?"
She nodded, "I used too much power at a time," she sighed, looking at her legs.
"It has happened before when I was young, it will pass soon enough."
Tyr walked over, he was cut up and bloody but nothing too serious, he looked at Gia, "Are you okay?"
She nodded.
"How do we get in there? We can't leave the men. They will die."
"I can make steps." Huricana offered as her eyes switched from pale green to white as she summoned her power and the wind picked up. She used condensed air to cut out foot holes in the wall's side. Once that was done, the wind died down and Huricana turned to us and smiled.
"That's not a staircase that's barely a ladder." Sunama pointed out.
"It works, doesn't it?" She frowned.
"Yes, it does, thank you Huricana." Tyr smiled.
"Prince Tyr, what do you want to do with the traitor?" Ward asked while walking over. Bram, dragging Prince Uda with them, kicking and yelling in protest.
"We will take him back to face the King." Tyr stated.
"Do you think he acted alone?" I asked him, not convinced. I had a feeling that it was more than just his brother that betrayed us.
"The Drow could be working with him." Ari shared, looking around.
"The scout we sent yesterday was not one of your scouts but your fathers." Bram shared.
"Ward, and Mohan, can you scout the area and make sure the Drow are not waiting in ambush?" Tyr asked.
They nodded and mounted their horses before riding off.
"Once they return, we will decide what to do."
Tyr took Prince Uda and tied him to a tree as Bram dragged over his guard, tying him to a tree beside him.
Tyr looked around the camp, "we will have to treat the wounded and see what we can salvage."
I looked around as well. The camp was in shambles, tents were ripped and destroyed, and bodies and blood were splattered everywhere on the ground, not to mention the giant wall encasing the center.
Everyone pitched in, fixing and mending what they could. Ari helped move Gia to a more comfortable place while she waited for her feet and legs to return to normal. It was quite funny to watch as Ari struggled to move her. "You weigh a bloody ton." She cursed as she dropped her by a fallen log.
"It's stone. What do you expect? If you crack or break me, I swear I will....” "You'll what? Chase me?" Ari grinned, daring her.
"I'll trap you inside a tree to live forever."
Ari raised her brows, "A tree?"
"Yup.," Gia stated stubbornly, lifting her chin in the air.
"Are you daft? I'd just burn it."
Gia's face reddened in anger, "I would figure something out, just don't break me."
"Got it." Ari said as she again picked her up and half dragged her, so she was by the fire outside our tent.
"What are you doing?" Ari snapped at me.
"Watching the show." I laughed as she glared.
Tyr walked up to me, "Are you okay?"
I nodded, "I am fine, I am more worried about you."
I reached up and touched a gash on his chest. He grabbed my hand and held it there, "It will heal. You didn't reopen any of your wounds, did you?"
I shook my head, "no I am fine."
"Good." he smiled as he leaned down to kiss me.
"Ugh, get a room." Gia groaned.
"We could take the tent." Tyr Teased with a grin.
"Not ours you're not." She snapped.
"I don't think there is much you can do about it right now." I laughed.
"Bitch."
"Would you two shut it?" Ari quipped before turning to Tyr. "So, what is the plan?" She asked him.
"We will wait for Mohan and Bram to return. If the Drow aren't out here, we will head back and report to the King."
I couldn't help the feeling that something more was going on here, I doubted this fight was far from over.
