The Elemental Sisters: Spirit

Chapter Chapter Thirty (Tyr)

"Akasha?" panicked I shook her shoulder while Gia looked closer at the puncture wound.

"She's right. He doesn't want her dead." Gia looked at me and smiled.

"How do you know?"

"He gave her something to put her to sleep, was probably trying to kidnap her." She answered as she re-bandaged the wound and covered Akasha with a blanket. "She just needs to rest." "Why did she say jokes on him?"

"Akasha is not the key; my sisters and I are supposed to protect it. Even if he had taken her, he wouldn't be able to accomplish the King Churd's goal."

"Why did she get up and leave to begin with, it was like she was in a trance?" I asked. "It was like she had checked out of the conversation completely. I gave her a few minutes, thinking maybe she needed some fresh air, or time to digest what Taoen and Evander had said. I should've followed sooner."

"We will have to ask her when she wakes up."

"I'll be back in a few if you are okay here."

Gia nodded, and I left the room and headed back to the dining hall, looking for Frey and Ward. I found them with the sisters and Taoen.

"Frey, Ward, can I need to talk to you?" I told them.

They nodded and stood, following me outside to the attached courtyard.

"What's up boss?" Frey asked with a smile.

"Colonel Delano has been here. I want you to find him and take him to the dungeons."

The smile on Frey's face vanished as he and Ward nodded and headed into the darkness beyond the courtyard, looking for the trespasser.

I headed back into the dining hall and made a plate of food for Akasha, Gia and myself and headed back up to her room.

"Want help with that?" Bram asked, walking up to me.

"I'm glad you're up and about." I smiled at Bram. "Taking this to Gia and Akasha."

Bram grabbed the plates, "Let's go see how they are doing."

We went back up tit he room. Akasha was still asleep, and Gia was sitting on the couch reading a book.

"Here." Bram offered her the plate.

"Thank you." She smiled when Bram sat next to her.

I ate my food and put Akasha's plate on the counter in case she woke up. I grabbed a book and went into her room.

I sat beside her on the bed and reclined against the headboard, flipping through the pages, not really paying attention to the story at all.

Akasha groaned beside me as she moved in her sleep, I put the book down and pulled her to me resting her head on my chest. I brushed the hair away from her face. She was paler than usual, probably from blood loss. I fell asleep with her in my arms. I awoke when I felt her moving.

"Your awake." I mumbled. "How do you feel?" I asked as I looked down at her.

"Like shit." She mumbled as she grimaced, sitting up, the sheet falling to her waist, her hair falling over her shoulders, covering her naked breasts.

She looked down at her stomach, touching the bandage gingerly as she looked underneath it.

"Does it hurt much?" I asked dumbly, as I sat up.

"Only if I move too fast. It will heal as long as I don't reopen it."

"it's the middle of the night. You should try to get some more rest."

"I need to get dressed." She stood up and moved to her dresser, shaking her head.

'What's wrong?"

"Two dresses destroyed in one day, my clothes have taken a hit." She mumbled as she pulled a red dress out of the dresser and slipped it on over her head, tying it loosely in the middle.

"I'll have to buy you more then." I laughed as I moved to stand behind her, wrapping my arms loosely around her waist so I didn't aggravate her wound.

"Why would you do that?" she asked as I kissed her neck.

"Because you will be my princess."

"Really, I am not the princess type." She replied, turning in my arms to face me.

"I finally found you, and now I am never letting you go. You will make a great princess." I laughed, kissing her forehead.

"What about my sisters? We are in the middle of trying to find allies and building an army to fight the Goblins." She frowned.

"We still will, and your sisters are welcome here."

"You say they are, but I think your father feels different."

"Then maybe I will have to become King." I joked.

"You would make a great King; I wish your father would see that."

"It will work out either way." I replied, knowing that the army would fight for me to be king. My father made a mistake when he sent me on those suicide missions while my brother sat nice and safe in the castle. "Things will work out as they are meant to." Akasha smiled. "For right now, let's just focus on stopping the Goblins and their allies."

"Very well, but this isn't the last you're going to hear of this. Besides, who says we have to stay here, I will go wherever you go."

She smiled and kissed my cheek. "We will see. Now I have to speak to my sisters about our brother."

"Your brother? You mean Taoen."

"Yes, when I went outside yesterday, it was because my mother had finally showed up, she said Taoen was my brother and the key my sisters and I needed to protect."

"Really, is your mother here now?" I asked, looking around, uncomfortable.

"No." Akasha replied as her eyes started watering. "She could not stay because she was murdered, if she had died of natural causes, she could've stayed because her spirit would still be intact but because she was murdered, her spirit was damaged as well."

"I'm sorry Akasha."

I pulled her into a hug as she cried into my chest. I pulled away from her as she sniffled, "I have to tell my sisters."

"You can't right now. It's the middle of the night they are asleep. You should try to get some more rest as well. You lost a lot of blood with your injuries."

She nodded, and I picked her up and carried her to the bed, laying her down gently before I laid down beside her, she put her head on my chest and held my hand while my other hand rubbed her back.

"Thank you for everything, Tyr. I feel so safe with you." She murmured before drifting back to sleep.

I sighed, wishing it could be like this forever, but I knew that was impossible. We would have to talk to my father and deal with the Drow before he would help the sisters against the goblins. For now, I would just take any moments of peace I could get because soon everything will be chaos.
