The Elemental Sisters: Spirit

Chapter Chapter Twenty-Eight (Akasha)

Hearing voices outside, I opened my eyes and looked around. "How did I end up back in my room?" I mumbled to myself. I went to move, but it hurt too much so as I laid there, I took stock of my injuries I knew my leg was injured by my careless little sister, luckily it didn't feel too bad, my stomach burned I reached down and felt the bandages that wrapped around it realizing the only thing covering me was a sheet. Great, just how many people saw me naked? "We are so glad you are awake are you okay?" Ela asked worried as she moved towards me.

"I'll be fine." I replied as I looked around to make sure we were alone.

"Karm is keeping an eye on things." Ela shared when she saw me looking around.

I nodded and carefully stood up and limped over to my dresser. Finding a clean dark blue dress, I pulled it on and tightened the laces, but leaving them loose enough not to irritate my wound. "You should rest." Ela scolded me.

"I'm fine."

"No, you're not."

Ignoring her, I opened the door and watched the scene in front of me Tyr and Ezryn had just left to go into the hallway and Gia had turned on Ari and snapped.

"You know I didn't do it on purpose, so why are you rubbing it in? I didn't mean to hurt Akasha, and I helped treat her wounds."

"Sorry, it's just nice not to be the one to fuck up, usually I am the one accidentally hurting others." Ari shared, which was surprising. Usually, she kept her thoughts and feelings to herself. "Great, you're not the only one who accidentally hurt someone. Can you let it go now? Please?" she begged her.

"Accidents happen, don't beat yourselves up over it." I interjected, as I limped over to them.

"You're awake?" Gia smiled, turning to me. "I'm so glad, how are you feeling?"

"I feel fine."

"Liar." Ari stated.

I shrugged. "Where is everyone?" I asked, looking around.

"They are around just doing their own thing."

I nodded and sat down on the couch, the door opened, and Tyr entered looking a little ticked off.

"What's wrong?" I asked him, he looked at me surprised and smiled. "It's nothing you need to worry about. I'm glad you're awake." He replied, sitting next to me.

Gia and Ari looked at each other and nodded, "We are going to go find Sunama and Huricana and let them know you're awake." Gia informed us.

"Wait, can you let them know there is going to be a feast tonight for you and your sisters as will, the King wants to speak to all of you." Tyr asked.

"We will see you there." Ari agreed before following Gia out of the room.

Tyr turned back to me, "How are you feeling?" he asked with a look of concern.

"I'm fine, just disappointed that I couldn't take out Taoen."

"You were incredible, how did you use your sister's abilities?"

"They lent me a piece of their spirit and I could use their abilities because their abilities are a part of their spirits. I have never had that happen before, though. Every time I think our abilities have finished changing and we have it all down, it changes again." I sighed and winced when I felt a sharp pain in my stomach.

"Are you sure your, okay?"

"Yes, I am fine. What time do we have to be at the feast?"

"Soon, we have maybe half an hour before we have to be there." He paused, "I should probably warn you that my father has something planned." "Something bad?"

"Depends how you look at it, currently the Drow which are allied with the Goblins have been attacking our kingdom's villages and my father wants you and your sisters to stop them before he will let you use his army."

"The longer we wait to go after the Goblins, the more damage they will do, any allies will come to aid them if we attacked them wouldn't that be a better move?"

"It would, but he is not seeing it that way."

"Although it would be better to fight the smaller army groups first. That way, we are less likely to be outnumbered later." I thought aloud, as much as I wanted to go after the Goblins, it made more sense to go after their allies first and weaken them so when we go after the head of the problem, there would be no surprises."

"That is actually a brilliant plan." Tyr smiled as he read my mind.

"You really have to stop doing that." I laughed, making sure to continue to shield my pain from him. "We should head to the dining hall."

Tyr nodded and stood, offering me a hand to help me up. Grateful, I took it and stood beside him.

"You don't have to go if you are not up to it."

"It's fine, the king wants us there and if I don't go, it will look bad."

He nodded, and we left the room and headed to the dining hall. I was relieved that Tyr had mentioned nothing about my limp and waited for me, even though I was walking slowly.

"You should go back to your room." Ela warned.

Turning, I glared at her. "I'm going." I told her. Tyr looked at me but said nothing.

Ela glared back. "Fine, don't listen to reason! Your funeral." She declared before she disappeared.

Frey and Ari walked towards us.

"I can't believe you can walk after that injury," Frey stated, laughing as Ari nudged him in the ribs. "Sorry." He chucked rubbing his side.

"It looks worse than it is." I smiled.

They looked at me doubtfully, but I ignored them, and we continued to the dining hall, the servants opened the doors, and it was already packed with people. You could barely hear anything over the noise of conversations and music. Gia, Sunama and Huricana walked over, and the noise stopped as the King raised his hand, silencing everyone.

"You have proven yourselves to be The Elemental Sisters from the prophecy, we are happy to have you in our Kingdom." The King announced as he gestured towards us.

"He didn't say that a few days ago." Ari mumbled to me angrily.

I went to speak, but he raised his hand again. "We will discuss everything tomorrow. Tonight, we feast."

So much for him wanting to talk to the sisters tonight. He must be drunk from all the wine he drank.

The crowd cheered, and the noise picked up again as the King sat down. We made our way through the crowd and sat at our assigned table in front of the King.

Taoen approached us, "You have proven yourself; you are a good fighter. No one has ever lasted long enough in a battle with me to call it a tie."

"Next time, I'll win." I vowed.

"But that would be pointless, we are on the same side."

"If we are on the same side, you never should have agreed to the battle in the first place."

"I don't exactly have a say. What my King orders I have to do."

I sighed. I knew he was right, but it still ticked me off we had to prove ourselves to begin with. King Halamar knew who we were and was just being difficult. He should have been considered in breach of the agreement already. "You need training."

"That's insulting." Taoen frowned.

"I mean no insult. You are using your abilities by instinct only and have not been shown the proper way to control them. Were your parents unable to train you?" I asked.

"You are blunt, aren't you?" he laughed. "My mother wasn't in the picture and before you ask, I get my elemental abilities from her."

"I'm sorry she wasn't around."

"We could train you." Huricana offered, with a bright smile.

"Us? Why?" Ari snapped.

"Because it is the right thing to do, we are all that is left of the pixie kingdom." Huricana defended.

"I don't care if he is the Pixie King, I am not training him." Ari snapped.

"If the King asked you to help him train, you would help him." Gia pointed out.

"Would you quit arguing with me, what is with you today?"

"I would be honored if you could train me." Taoen put in.

I nodded, "We will, so who is your mother?" I asked him as I thought to my sisters, "It's our responsibility to train him, we would be putting others at risk if we didn't" "He is your brother," a man I had not met before walked up and stood beside him.
