The Elemental Sisters: Spirit

Chapter Chapter Twenty-Four (Akasha)

Ela and Karm really didn't find out much information about the King Halamar even with them spying, he was a very secretive man. "Have you heard from my mother at all?" I asked Ela as we walked towards the training grounds.

"I am sorry we have been talking to the other spirits to see if anyone has seen her, but so far, they have found nothing."

"Thank you for everything, Ela." I smiled and asked, "You will let me know as soon as you know anything."

"Of course."

Karm appeared beside her, looking annoyed.

"What's wrong, my love?" Ela asked him.

"Prince Uda is up to something, but every time I get close to him, it feels like I am hitting a wall and can't get any closer."

"Thanks for trying Karm, do you two ready for today?"

"You bet; we have been looking forward to it." Ela smiled in anticipation.

When we arrived at the training grounds, if you could call it that. It was more of a Colosseum than a training ground; they made the entire thing from marble and stretched to the sky; we walked through an archway and into the massive arena.

It was already packed. They filled the seats with people wanting to see the battle. King Halamar was already there, sitting on a throne above the crowd.

King Halamar looked at us and spoke, his voice echoing off the walls, "Are you ready for the battle?" he asked with a laugh in his tone to disrespect us.

"We are your high ass!" Ari spat at him, and his face reddened with anger.

"You will watch your tongue, or I will cut it out." He warned.

"He will do it too." Tyr warned her.

Ari spat, "He can try."

"Ari, we need his aid, not another enemy." I reminded her.

"Fine, but he pisses me off." She muttered.

The King turned his attention to something behind us. "Taoen, thank you for coming."

My sisters and I turned around to see a tall, muscled man with black hair that almost looked blue, which fell to his shoulders and intense green eyes. "Yummy," Gia muttered under her breath.

"Ew." Ari sneered at her.

"Shut up, you two, he might be able to hear you." I warned.

He looked at my sisters and me with evident surprise on his face, before he replaced it with a smirk like he had the battle won already.

This battle will be fun. I can knock that arrogant look off his face."

"The battle orders have been made, while you wait for your turn, sit on the bench out of the way. First up his Huricana and Sunama." The King ordered, as Prince Uda took a seat beside him. Huricana giggled with joy, "This will be fun." As the rest of us went to sit down while she and Sunama stayed in the arena."

"The rules for the match are, there are no rules, anything goes." The King boomed over the cheering crowd.

"Great, so whomever wins out of my sisters and me will face Taoen and if that person doesn't win, he can kill them." I muttered.

"Goody." Ari sang excitedly.

"He wants you dead." Karm stated matter of fact.

"Good thing he won't get what he wants." I retorted, looking at Tyr knowing he could read my thought. Could he read a Spirit's mind as well?

He shook his head. "Only the living." He thought back. "I have to go sit with the King; I'll see you later ok. Be safe."

"I will."

"You two are so cute." Ela smirked, and I glared at her.

"You know I hate that word."

"It's nice to see someone else find their true love." Ela defended.

"How do you know?" I asked her as I looked towards Tyr.

"I just do."

"Begin." The King ordered, interrupting our conversation. All eyes fell onto the field where Huricana and Sunama were standing.

Sunama and Huricana squared off against each other looking for an opening, Huricana moved to kick Sunama, but Sunama easily blocked her, Sunama went to punch her, and she blocked that blow as well.

They were evenly matched. This carried on for a few minutes. Growing bored, Sunama's eyes turned turquois, and she was consumed by water, the crowd gasped as Huricana's eyes turned white and she used wind to push the water away, while using their elements they pulled out their swords. Sunama's blade looked like waves as she used water to sharpen the blade and Huricana swung with a speed that was unreadable to the others as she used the wind the help speed up her attacks.

Their swords clashed and rang out in the arena as the battle continued, Sunama kicked her foot out and knocked Huricana on her ass pointing the water blade at her throat. Huricana dropped her blade and surrendered.

"Sunama is the winner." King Halamar announced as Sunama helped Huricana up and she headed to the bench. Smiling, she sat down beside me. I looked into her mind and saw that she had planned on losing. Odd, usually she would try to win.

"Next up is Sunama and Gia." The King ordered.

Gia got up and met Sunama in the middle of the arena, Sunama's eyes were still the colour of turquoise with her power.

"Begin." The King ordered.

Gia's eyes turned emerald with her power and the fight began. Sunama tried to push Gia away with spouts of water that she had condensed into poles, Gia stood rooted like a tree as she glared at Sunama. Gia grew tree roots to trap Sunama, but Sunama increased the speed of the water and cut through them, causing the tree's roots to fall from her body.

"Is that the best you got?" Sunama taunted Gia and laughed.

Gia's anger got the best of her, and she slapped Sunama across the face with one of the tree's roots and laughed.

Sunama retaliated by throwing condensed water balls at Gia, who knocked them away with the roots that had sprung from the ground at her feet.

Gia pulled out her staff and advanced towards Sunama, swinging at her, she dodged her blow with her sword and backed up. Gia just laughed and use the earth element to lengthen her staff but got carried away and accidentally knocked Sunama out.

"Gia is the winner." The King announced as Ezryn, who was standing behind us, went and picked up Sunama and carried her back to the bench.

I looked around for Tyr and saw him sitting beside his father, a look of anger on his face.

"Gia still needs to work on controlling her temper." Karm pointed out.

"If she is not careful, she may become us unpredictable as Ari." Ela added.

"They are doing their best," I defended them, "Their abilities, well actually all of our abilities, are emotion based, so of course there would be the odd slip up or accident."

"I know, but in a battle, it puts you at a disadvantage."

"I know it does."

"Ari and Gia will fight next." King Halamar ordered.

The crowd was cheering at the king's words. Ari stood and walked to the middle of the arena.

"This should be good." Ezryn mumbled as he laid Sunama down on the second bench.

"She is ok just knocked out." Huricana commented as she checked her over.

"Yeah, the two with anger issues should be great." I murmured, hoping they didn't hurt each other. "Begin." The king ordered as the crowd cheered.

Ari's eyes turned orange, and she began creating and throwing fire balls at Gia without warning.

Gia made a shield using the earth and blocked the attacks, which pissed Ari off. Her body became engulfed in fire, and she ran towards Gia, who avoided her rampage. Ari turned like a bull and charged again and the angrier she got, the bigger the fire grew. I couldn't see her anymore, just flames.

Panic rose in my chest. If she didn't get control soon, she could be lost to the flames.

"Can that really happen?" Try asked, reading my thoughts.

I looked up, surprised to see him standing behind me, and nodded.

I watched as Gia's anger flared as well as alarm I could read the worry on her face, plants surrounded Gia as she slowly disappeared into a cocoon of them, the cocoon exploded, and the plants turned to stone firing in all direction Ari was throwing fireballs in quick succession aiming for Gia.

Both becoming more frustrated with the other. On the best of days, they got along, but when they spared with each other, they tended to go overboard.

"Gia, if you don't stop her soon, we will lose her." I thought into her mind.

She nodded and aimed a large rock where her head should be and threw as a flame hit her, knocking her unconscious, Ari's flames dispersed, and she landed on the ground unconscious from the rock's impact.

"Tie." The King yelled as I ran onto the field to check on my sisters. Kneeling beside them, I checked to see if there were any major wounds. Luckily, they were all minor.

I stood up as Sunama walked towards me, her eyes turquoise. "I got it." she shared as she moved past me to my unconscious sisters.

I glanced around the arena, finding Taoen standing off to the side, a look of shock and worry on his face; I had glanced at him a few times throughout the battles, and he was intent on watching every detail from the fights. Sunama dumped water on both of them and they woke up.

"Who won?" Ari sputtered.

"Tie." I informed her.

"I clearly won." Gia stated as Ari glared at her.

"Next is Akasha against Gia and Ari."

"Two against one. Really?" Ari snapped at him, and he shrugged.

"It was a tie, so she fights you both."

"Very well." I mumbled as I took a fighting stance, my sisters doing the same. I felt my power fill me and happened to glance at Tyr, who looked shocked. Curious, I peeked in his mind and saw that my eyes were completely grey, the whites of my eyes were grey as well. I'd never seen my eyes when I used my power, and it was kind of freaky.

Tyr laughed, and I turned my attention back to my sisters. Ela and Karm stretched and were ready for the battle as they took their places beside me.

"Begin." The King ordered.
