Twist of Fate(BOOK 2)

Chapter 8

I've been living constantly with fear of Abdulrahman. He loved me yet that didn't stop him from making my hell.

I sat down idly on my bed, humming an unknown tone while playing with my fingers when I heard him roar my name from the room. My body trembled with fear as I gulped down the anxiety I was feeling.

"SOPHIA" he yelled my name from downstairs. I dropped what I was doing and prayed silently to Allah to give him sabr*. I was scared, I didn't know what had gone wrong because he never called me by my name except if he was angry-- extremely angry. I rushed down the stairs; taking two steps as one. (Patience).

I saw him shaking in rage with a piece of paper in his hand, clenching his fist.

"Take" he gritted his teeth, holding the paper out to me. I didn't have time to stare at him before I collected quickly not wanting to anger him more.

I opened the paper, my eyes bulged out nearly out from the shock of terror as I gasped out, using my hand to cover my mouth. I shook in pure fear. Dear my beating heart; Sophia Alli,

How are you sweetheart?, it has been so long I've met you and heard from you. I missed you and miss you but worry less babe, I'm back. I'm coming for you.

Xxx

Yours completely.

"What is the meaning of this?" He took a menacing step towards me as my hands trembled and I was covered in fear. "You are planning to leave me?" He asked in a low voice before he chuckled darkly.

"No" I shook my head frantically for him to believe me but I knew that was impossible.

"How dare you S?" He grinded his teeth together, walking to me and shook me hard, making me feel dizzy before he slammed me against the wall. I groaned painfully, holding my head as I felt thick liquid oozing out from my forehead.

I am bleeding again. By this rate, I don't think I would have enough blood in my system, I thought bitterly.

He parabulated around me before he stopped and raised my head up to look at his eyes.

"Where is your phone?" he asked in a hard voice, I flinched from his hard tone.

"You have collected it from me," I replied shakily, not looking at him.

"You are lying Sophia" he tutted, caressing my cheeks softly, his eyes darkening, "where is the small phone with you?" He growled while I fidgeted with my fingers.

"emm..." I didn't know what to say.

How did he know?.

He has seized my cell phone since our wedding night, forbade me from calling anyone or seeing anyone.

"I know" he grinned manically, "you want to leave me?" He asked while I shook my head.

"Stop lying" he slapped me hard which I cried out from the impact of his hand. He yanked my hair in a tight grip as I thrashed around. It hurt. The pain intensified as I felt my head pound continuously. I just wanted everything to stop. The pounding of my head intensified which made my consciousness fluctuate to and fro as black dot clothed my eyes making me blacked out.

"Momma" I heard a distant voice calling me which belonged to my son- Abdullah.

"Momma, what happened to your head?" I groaned, opening my eyes and my boy crouched down beside me with a worried gaze. I looked around disorientedly and noticed he left me at the ground where I fainted. "Nothing bibi" I mumbled, trying to get up.

How can I tell my son that the person he adores as a father is not his father and he is the cause of my injuries. I thought sadly, fighting off the tears.

It would break me and him. He wouldn't trust me again that I lied to him about his father. Oh Allah, I hope I'm not making a mistake in staying in this marriage. I whispered.

"But momma, what happened to your head?" I touched my head and noticed the bleeding had stopped and dried. I sighed tiredly.

"Oh" I widened my eyes, "I'm getting old" I laughed nervously, "I didn't face where I was going and hit my head on the wall" I laughed awkwardly, patting his head.

"But momma, you've been falling or hitting the wall lately" he narrowed his eyes at me, telling me he wasn't buying my lame excuses.

"Almost everyday, you either hit or slip. By this rate I hope you won't fall on pooh" he grinned impishly and I laughed widely, wincing at the pain at my head.

I stood up slowly, walked to the fight as he trailed behind me before taking a seat on my lap. "How was school today?" I asked, removing his backpack. "School was fun today" he grinned happily, "We were taught 'Table manners' today.

"Woah dear, what's table manners?" I raised my brows.

"Table manners, table manners. Wash your hands before eating, say bismillah before eating, eat with your right hand, eat from what is near to you, don't talk while eating, don't overfeed yourself, say alhamdulillah after eating and wash your hands after eating" he clapped and sang aloud excitedly.

I stared at my son's face and felt nostalgic about his father but I shook the feeling away. "You seem happy today?" I asked.

"Yes momma, I'm very happy" he grinned.

"Maa shaa Allah, Baraka llahu fih bibi" I smiled, "am I privileged to know the causes of your happiness?" I bowed dramatically while he waved his hand and giggled.

"It's Captain Z, he came today" I'd never seen my son smile so radiantly like this that I felt like crying happily.

I arched my eyebrows in confusion, "who is captain Z?" I asked curiously.

"Our teacher's husband" he answered, jumping happily on my lap.

"We played together and he taught us some games too" he filled in my curiosity.

"Maa shaa Allah" I exclaimed while I laughed widely at him because I could see the happiness shown clearly on his face.

"When am I going to meet that captain Z" I teased him, pinching his cheeks.

"Soon momma, soon" he smirked.
