Chapter 1003
The next second, the doctor and nurses were dumbfounded. They were still holding the baby in their arms to show him.
After being in a daze for a few seconds, the doctor returned to his senses and wanted to say something when he heard another excited voice. "Doctor, how is the baby? Is this the baby? Is it a girl or a boy? Is there any problems with the baby?" Chet looked over at them anxiously, and his voice began to tremble out of worry.
"Huh?" The doctor was confused.
He suddenly returned to his senses, couldn't help but to mumble, "Who on earth is the baby's dad?"
"Uh... I'm the baby's uncle!" Chet scratched his head awkwardly. He didn't know why, but his heart raced at that moment as well.
"I see. Congratulations, it was a premature birth, but he's a healthy baby boy. He weighs 6.6 pounds, and you may take a look at him before we take him away to wash him up. We'll send him to the ward later!" the doctor said. "Really? All right!" Chet said.
He moved closer and took a look, then stumbled and followed them to get the baby washed up, leaving Carson and the others behind. They stared at each other, and shook their heads as they sighed.
"Get prepared, we may have to arrange a transfer to a different hospital if Frederick thinks that it's needed! Just prepare for it first!"
Meanwhile, Frederick sat in front of the bed and held Alicia's hand in the ward. "Doctor, why isn't she awake yet? Is she going to be all right?"
"Doctor, is there something wrong with her condition? Why isn't she awake yet? Would something happen to her?" he asked again.
He switched from waiting in front of the bed to pestering the doctor every five minutes. After hanging up the IV drip, the doctor couldn't help but to roll his eyes at him.
"Can you please take a break? Have you never seen a woman delivering a baby on the TV before? I've told you a million times that she's just drained and weak from giving birth, and that there's nothing wrong with her. Why are you still asking? She'll be awake in a while!" the doctor answered.
Just then, someone was anxiously shouting at the door. "Doctor Jordan, the patient of bed number eight is bleeding, please come and take a look!"
"All right, I'm on my way!" the doctor said.
He walked around Frederick and strode out of the ward. On the other hand, Frederick was dazed from being reprimanded, and stood there, stunned for a long time. After some time, he returned to the bed and sat down in front of it calmly.
Carson saw the scene as he arrived at the door of the ward. "Congratulations, Frederick. Would you like to transfer her to my hospital? The condition of this hospital isn't very satisfactory."
Frederick said, "Huh? Can she be transferred now? It doesn't matter whether she's transferred or not, as long as it's the best choice for her..."
"Then, I'll arrange for her to be transferred over. The environment there is more suitable for her!" Carson said.
After all, there was a gynaecology department and a confinement center in his hospital.
After that, Carson turned around and left the ward. Frederick couldn't tend to him, as he had caught sight of Alicia's eyelids moving. He held her hand tightly. "Ally?" he said.
Alicia opened her heavy eyelids slowly, and groaned weakly, "Mmm..."
Her blurred gaze turned clear gradually, and his languish face as well as his white hair entered her sight once again. It felt like it had been forever. With an aching heart, she subconsciously lifted her hand and caressed his face gently. "Hubby, your hair... Did you have a hard time?" she asked.
Her breath was weak, and she couldn't hide her affection towards him.
Frederick grabbed her hand tightly as he began to tear up. "No, I just missed you too much! Ally..."
He was so glad that she was alive!
"Ally, did you know..." He was so happy!
Frederick was so thrilled that he began to sob. All of a sudden, Alicia realized something, and screamed, "My baby! Where's my baby?"
Her mind was in a mess, and she only remembered the doctor saying that she was going to give birth soon. She remembered hearing the cries of a baby, but she wasn't sure, and wanted to get up to check on the baby.
Where was her baby? He couldn't be gone, could he?
Frederick was startled by her screams and was stunned for a while. "Don't move, Ally. I think he's been delivered."
He had a vague memory of it, but he was too worried about her then, that he had forgotten about it. After
hearing her mentioning the babet
Frederick began to worry again, and
his voice began to tremble out of
fear.
QUMS
It was fortunate that she was fine, but could all the problems have gone to the baby instead? If that was the case, he was worried that she would...
He started to panic, and he didn't know how to deal with it, so he hugged her tightly right away.
The nurse had arrived at the door of the ward with the baby. Seeing the scene in the ward, she couldn't help but to roll her eyes. It was her first time seeing parents who behaved like that!
While Chet, who had been with them throughout the entire journey, was deeply touched by their reunion after the disaster and their affection. He felt waves of emotions in his heart. "The baby is fine, it's here..." he said.
The nurse carried the baby to the bed, and placed him in Alicia's arms. Alicia held him gently, then gave him a gentle pat, and her lips curved into the most beautiful smile that one had ever seen. On the contrary, Frederick took a good look at the baby, and frowned as he said, "Why is it so ugly? Have you brought us the wrong baby?"
Both he and Alicia were extremely good-looking. How did they give birth to such an ugly baby?
After his unintentional mutter, everyone gave him a glare. Alicia rolled her eyes at him in despise, but she actually did have the same doubts as well.
She knew that newborn babies weren't very goodlooking, but the wrinkled appearance of the baby did look strange.
Nevertheless, it was her own baby, and the motherly love made her like the baby the more she looked at it.
The nurse then explained, "The baby is considered very beautiful! It was a slightly premature birth, so the baby hasn't opened its eyes yet!"
Then, Chet said, "Congratulations, Frederick! I've been watching the entire time!"
"My baby..." Alicia exclaimed.
Alicia was elated as she caressed the delicate baby gently. "Oh, is it a boy or a girl?" she asked.
Her gaze fell upon Frederick, and he was stunned again. He shook his head in a blur, as he wasn't aware that he had become a father. He was in a daze the entire time. "Err..." he mumbled.
Alicia couldn't help but to glare at him again. What was he doing? The baby had already been born. Why didn't he know anything about it?
The nurse couldn't help but burst into laughter at
that moment.
She said, "Haha, I've seen many

confused fathers in the delivery room, but it's my first time seeing a father that is so unconcerned about his son! You're very lucky, Miss Blanchard. Your husband only has his eyes on you! He didn't even take a look at the baby, and has already run over to see you at once. Congratulations, he's a healthy baby boy, and he weighs 6.6 pounds."
"That's great, thank you so much! We have a son now, Frederick!" Alicia exclaimed.
After cheering happily, Alicia's eyes started to tear up. The nurse gave them some instructions, and left the ward with Chet after that.
At that moment, Frederick finally glanced at the adult and the baby on the bed. They were both weak, and his heart began to swell...
