Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1008

Alicia took the plates and handed them to the two guests.

"There are no outsiders here, so you don't have to be too courteous! Let's eat while we talk! It's fated that we're gathered here now! Thank you for clearing my husband's name, Miss Weil, we owe you for this! To be honest, I've always thought that men were better in mathematics and sciences, so I was exceptionally curious when I heard about a drug engineering expert who is the prettiest girl in the institute. I was also very curious about the job as a forensic medical examiner, as I usually only get to see them in movies, but you appeared in my life all of a sudden, so I was immersed in my thoughts as I looked at the both of you!" she explained.

Victoria nodded, agreeing with her and said.

"That's right! We used to love watching crimes and suspense dramas the most. We didn't expect the scenes in those dramas to happen on us in real life one day! It's such a strange feeling!"

As soon as they started the conversation, Lauren and Sharon started to let their guard down as well.

Lauren said, "We were very curious about you too! A woman who made the most influential man of Casterwich City fall head over heels for her mustn't be an ordinary woman! Honestly speaking, I was looking at the both of you too just now..."

One of them made Mr. Clements' hair turn white in a night, and the other tamed his playboy brother's wild heart. They were definitely legends! Lauren was curious about the magic and uniqueness of the two of them that others did not behold. Sharon nodded as well, and said.

"That's true! I only get to see the life of a wealthy family in dramas, so as we are watching it unfold in real life, we have the same feeling too!" she said.

As they spoke, they smiled at each other.

"Fate has brought us together today. Also, look at our outfits! Even our outfits look similar. They're combinations of black and white, and they're all loosely fitted babydoll dresses!" Victoria said.

Speaking of clothes, Lauren and Alicia exclaimed at the same time as they tugged on their dresses.

"I am pregnant!" Lauren said.

"I've just given birth!" Alicia said.

The two of them needed comfortable outfits, so they didn't have a choice.

Victoria looked at them and smiled as she said, "I don't have a choice either. My legs are too weak, so I can only wear a loosely fitted dress with flats!"

Hearing that, Sharon giggled.

"It seems that I'm the only one with a choice! Unfortunately, Laurie prepared my clothes for me, and she insisted that I wore a set of matching black and white clothes with her, so I didn't have a choice either..." she said.

After exchanging some conversations, they became much more familiar with each other. Also, they were all carefree and friendly people, and as they had many topics to talk about due to the friendships between the men, so they mixed around very well.

The men were entertaining the guests. As they spoke to them, they suddenly heard the laughter of the women from behind. The men were stunned, then looked over in their direction at the same time.

"It seems that these women were able to vibe with each other! They look like they're having a joyful chat..." Willy said.

Frederick squinted his eyes and said, "It's been a long time since we were all this happy!" "We should have a drink, it's not everyday we get to gather!" Willy said.

As they spoke, Chet and the butler fetched Mrs. Clements, Penny, and her family over. At the same time, Hallie and Caven arrived together, one looking as pretty as a peacock, and one looking dressy and foppish. Mason walked behind them, looking unwilling to be there, with a face full of unpleasantness.

Needless to say, he must have been lectured earlier on.

As their gazes met, Frederick and Trevor put down their wine glasses, then walked over to them. "Grandma..."

Mrs. Clements had a bright smile on her face, but when she saw Frederick's white hair, she couldn't help but to tear up. She grabbed his hands tightly, feeling glad that he was alright, and kept on repeating the same words to him. "This is wonderful, this is wonderful..."

The two of them greeted everyone, and the elders gave them gifts too. After looking around, Aunt Amanda was curious and said.

"Why is it only the two of you here? Where's Alicia and the child? I've only seen them once. The baby must look beautiful now, being one-month-old! I'm so happy for you, Frederick! You should try your best too, Trevor!" she said. The joy on Aunt Amanda's face couldn't be hidden at all.

At that moment, Penny grabbed Christian's arm with a smile. She peered around the room, and saw that apart from the pictures of the baby at the sides, there weren't any other signs of the baby being there. Therefore, she said,

"That's right! We haven't had any good news in the family for a long time, you should bring the baby out so that we can get some of the good luck. There's a lot of us out here who are waiting for some good news too! We could at least get some duck for getting pregnant!"

The only thing that she had was a glib tongue! Nonetheless, Frederick didn't have a good impression of her. Regardless of her intentions, Frederick didn't plan on letting anyone see the baby that day. He then explained,

"Alicia is entertaining the guests

now, and Clinton has just turned one month old and returned home, so he hasn't adapted to the environment yet. We have a crowded party today, and babies have weaker immune systems. I don't want him to get frightened or catch a cold, sol arranged for him to stay in a quiet place. Since we're all a family, I will just let you know about this. You can always visit the baby in the future, when he has adapted to the

environment!"

Hearing Frederick's words, Mrs. Clements spoke up as well.

"That's right! As you should! It doesn't matter whether we see the baby or not, the most important thing is my grandson's health! The main reason we're here today is for a happy family gathering. It's the same to look at him from pictures or videos!" she said.

After that, Frederick took them into the house. Behind him, Penny played along and smiled happily, but was resentful in her heart. Mason was silent, while Hallie and Caven acted to be pleasant. The atmosphere was awkward.

As the party began, Christian gave a

cheery speech, then gave them a lavish gift, while Mrs. Clements felt melancholic as she held Alicia's hand. The audience below the stage clapped every once in a while, while Penny and Hallie wore fake smiles that looked even worse than frowns.

On the other hand, Victoria had just recovered from her injury, and Trevor was worried that she was going to get hurt again, so he made her sit on the sofa on the side to avoid being in the crowd. He even stood behind her to support her.

As the party started, Frederick and Alicia did the first dance, and the atmosphere got livelier by the minute. Victoria nudged Trevor to encourage him.

She said, "It's rare that we get to be out here, you should go and join the fun and relax yourself! Lauren will be here to accompany me, you won't have to worry..."

"All right then!" he said.

Frederick left the dance floor, and Trevor returned to the group of men. They rarely had the chance to gather, so they felt more relaxed than usual. Even Nicholas was there, and he joined them as they chatted and drank happily.

Alicia was concerned about her child, so she took the opportunity and left for a short moment. It wasn't convenient for Victoria to move, and Lauren was pregnant, so they sat on the sofa without moving. Frederick noticed their movements, and put down his wine glass. "I'll go entertain some guests, you guys can go on without me!" he said.

Then, Trevor also said, "I'll go take a look at Vicky, I'm worried about her injury! It's crucial now!"

He gave Willy a tug, and Willy put down his wine glass as well. "I'll go with you! Lauren isn't used to socializing!"

They turned around and looked at Carson. After exchanging gazes, Willy said, "Carson, you should ask Sharon for a dance!"
