Piss On The Brothers' Graves

Sean stared fixedly at Liam for a while.

Then he laughed..

He got up and flicked the drops of wine from his sleeves. 'Okay, I'll leave you be. But Liam, you should give some serious thought to what I said. Don't let such a rare opportunity slip through your fingers. Who knows how long their marriage is going to last?" Sean left.

Charles closed the door after him.

He swept away the broken shards of wine glass on the floor.

"Young Master,' he said, 'Sean is just using you. He wants to see Austyn gone as much as you do."

'Don't you think I knew that?' Liam sneered. 'Who's to say I'm not using him as well?"

Charles nodded and said no more on the subject.

Young Master had things under control.

Sean tossed his cigarette and spat onto the floor.

'Fuck, who the hell does he think he is? Liam Cane's a nobody without my help. I made him, that ungrateful, arrogant prick'

Ronald, seated next to him in the backseat of the car, nodded eagerly.

"There's no need to get angry over someone like him, Boss. Cane's nothing without

you.

Sean took a deep breath. 'You're right."

'We're just using him. He's a pawn. It doesn't matter if he refuses to go along with your plan for now. Give it some time. There's enough bad blood between the brothers. Even without our help, they will go up against each other, Hopefully, one will kill the other." Sean laughed. 'You're right. I don't care which one of them dies first. I'm happy either way.

'So there's no need for us to be agitated, Boss. Good things come to those who wait."

Sean patted his subordinate on the shoulder.

He glanced out the window at Liam's villa.

'One of those days, I'll piss on the brothers' graves!'

Ronald nodded in agreement. 'Don't forget, Boss, we still have a trump card. When the time comes, we'll unleash that woman. Once they see her, the two brothers are bound to fight to the death." 'Just like what happened seven years ago, Sean said, grinning.

He rubbed his hands with glee. "That day can't get here soon enough! I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when they see her!!

Kira stayed in the hospital for two days.

She had wanted to leave on day one, but Kal strongly advised against it.

He cited the doctor's advice for bed rest and seldom left her side.

This On The Brothers Grves

At lunch, Kira stared at Kai 'Why won't Austyn let me leave the hospital?"

Kai said it was for her own good, but his excuse was wearing thin.

Her arm was fine now.

She could raise it, swing it, extend and retract it at will.

She hardly felt any pain.

But Kai refused to let her leave.

He wouldn't do this to her without Austyn's say-so.

'Boss is not trying to keep you here.' Kal avoided eye contact. 'He's just concerned about your health."

'If he cares about me, why hasn't he visited me once in the past two days?"

"Uh, I, ah..." Kai fingered the phone in his pocket, hoping for it to ring.

Kira knew her questions were putting the assistant in a difficult position he was just following orders, but there was no one else she could ask.

'Is he trying to lock me up? Am I a prisoner?'

'Of course not! Boss would never do that!!

"Then why can't I leave? Kira pointed to the door. 'And why are there guards outside?"

She'd seen six men, two for each eight-hour shift, taking up post outside her door round the clock.

When she opened the door, one of them, eyes hidden behind black sunglasses and hands folded in front of his body, would step forward.

'Miss Hewitt, if you need anything, please let us know. We're here to help."

She could ask for water, food, or the doctor, but she could not leave.

Even with both arms intact, she was no match for any one of the burly and stern-looking guards, let alone two of them.

So Kira had to return to the ward, fuming.

Kai mopped his forehead. 'I can't be here twenty-four hours a day, so Boss arranged for these men to be here. Just in case you need something and there's no one on hand."

Kira pointed at the call button at her bedside. 'If I press this, I can get a nurse here in two minutes. How does that count as "no one on hand?""

Kai had no reply to that.

The truth was, he had no idea why Austyn sent the bodyguards.

Nor did he know why Boss stayed away from the hospital.

He was clearly worried about Kira, but he refused to visit her.

All the assistant could do was follow his orders.

"Young Madam, please bear with it. It's just for a few days more till you recover. Then you can go home.'

Kira gave up when she knew she couldn't get any more out of Kal.

'Austyn's locking me up,' she thought, upset.

Was this his way of punishing her for going out with another man?

Kira bit her bottom lip.

This was worse than the silent treatment he used to mete out as punishment. Jesse poked and prodded at Austyn's shoulder.

The

an bore it in silence.

'Will you stop with that glare?" Jesse teased. 'I'm your doctor, not your debtor."

He changed Austyn's bandage and gave him a pat. 'All set. The wound is healing along nicely. You don't have to come in tomorrow." Austyn gave no reply.

Jesse poked the bandage again. 'Really? It doesn't hurt? How about this?'

He jabbed a finger at the centre of the wound.

Austyn picked up a scalpel from the tray nearby and twirled it between his fingers.

Jesse got the message and withdrew his hand.

'I was just checking to see if the bandage's too tight... Give me that scalpel. It's sharp. Careful, you might hurt yourself.'

Austyn tossed the scalpel back onto the tray.

He stood up. "How's her arm?

"Who?"
