Twenty minutes later, the Hummer pulled up outside the karaoke lounge, but Austyn made no move to get out of the car.

"Um, Boss," Kai twisted in his seat to look at his boss. 'We're here.'

Austyn made a sound in his throat, but he remained motionless.

'Come on!' Kai said to himself. 'Let's get a move on! I'm going to get a ticket soon!'

But he dared not rush his boss.

Instead, he asked, 'Are you here to see Paul?"

Austyn finally opened his eyes.

He glanced at the brightly lit entrance of the lounge. "Kira's here."

'I see. Kai said.

The conscientious assistant was about to ask if Austyn was here to pick up his wife, but he recalled the dressing-down he got the last time he made that suggestion.

So he ventured, 'Would you like me to go inside to fetch Young Madam?

Austyn pondered the idea.

Kira was with her colleagues now.

Kai's appearance would cause a stir.

Austyn shook his head. 'Just give her a call."

"Yes, Boss."

Kai dialled Kira's number.

When it was finally picked up, the assistant was assaulted by a din.

"Young Madam! It's me!" Kai shouted back.

Kai winced as he listened to one of his favourite songs get butchered, but he couldn't help tapping a foot to the rhythm.

Kira seemed to be moving away from the singer.

She whispered into the phone, 'Oh, hello, Mr Scott. What's the matter?"

"We're outside Sam Palace right now,' Kai said. 'Me and the boss. You can come out now."

"No!' Kira whisper-shouted. 'I'm busy! You guys go home first!"

"What are you busy with?"

The assistant stared at his phone.

A minute later, he turned around to look at Austyn. 'Boss, Young Madam says she's not leaving till she wins back all the money she lost."

'Still gambling!' Austyn huffed.

It had been more than an hour since Paul told him they were playing cards.

The woman had no restraint!

He snatched the phone from Kai's hand and redialled.

'I said I'm not leaving!" Kira shouted breathlessly. "You can go home! I'm staying!"

She refrained from using Kai's name, in case her colleagues overheard it and grew curious.

When there was no sound from the phone, she held the screen in front of her face.

The call was still connected.

'Hello?

"You have exactly one minute, Austyn's deep voice came through. 'You don't want to find out the consequences if you fail to show after sixty seconds." Kira froze.
