CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 1394

"That's not true. This child isn't his at all. He's lying about it," Lydia shook her head, her voice steady. "This child is Quincy's."

She gently placed her hand over her stomach, a thought striking her. Could it be that the child she had lost before had somehow returned to her?

Turning to her father, she declared, "No matter what, I'm keeping this child. Quincy and I are divorced, but he won't trouble me. I trust him. I know he's a decent man."

"And what about his mother?" Mr. Fay sighed, shaking his head. "That troublesome mother-in-law is a nightmare for anyone unlucky enough to deal with her."

Compared to Eugene, he was starting to view Quincy in a more favorable light. Besides, the evidence he had found showed that the slanderous posts defaming Lydia online weren't Quincy's doing. They were from Tiffany, who had even connected with a rival of Fay Corporation. This mess wasn't Quincy's fault.

If Quincy were the only concern, Mr. Fay might have looked the other way for the sake of the child and accepted him as family. But with Quincy's mother in the picture, he made his stance crystal clear. "Don't think I'm being harsh, but unless his mother is out of the picture, I refuse to let you two be together."

"I understand." Lydia knew that even for the sake of her child, she couldn't afford to take that risk. Her former mother-in-law had already cost her one child, and it felt like a miracle to be pregnant again. She would have to be crazy to let history repeat itself. Seeing that his daughter was resolute, Mr. Fay didn't press the matter further.

Meanwhile, Quincy visited his mother in the hospital every day. In his presence, she took her medications and received her IV fluids, putting on quite the act.

One day, after stepping out of the hospital, Quincy suddenly remembered he had left something in her room and hurried back. As he reached the door, he overheard a conversation between his mother and sister, Mabel.

"Aunt, you've been faking it for days

now, and the medical bills aren't cheap. Quincy works hard to earn money, and I saw the hospital bills myself last time. It costs him four figures every single day," Mabel said, genuinely concerned. She didn't mind spending money on food, drinks, or other things, but throwing it away like this felt wasteful.

Mrs. Perez, however, had a different view. "It's just money. As long as it helps secure his future, I wouldn't mind if the costs doubled."

"But it's been days, and I don't think

he is willing to accept Tiffany. Maybe you should just give it up. He's worn down over this, and he truly loves Lydia. If only you'd allowed them to be together from the start, things wouldn't have

reached this point."

Mabel hesitated to say her next thought aloud.

Even if Lydia had been seen with another man, a day at the beach wasn't the same as sleeping together. Her aunt had cost Lydia a child. Wasn't that worse by comparison?

Considering how infatuated Quincy was with Lydia, maybe it would be best to let them be together.

"Lydia will never be welcomed into

our family," Mrs. Perez insisted

firmly. "Even if he doesn't like

Tiffany, there are plenty of women out there. I'll introduce him to

someone else and get him meetin2

this year. By next year, I'll be holding my grandchild." She mentally tallied her plans, feeling quite pleased.

Mabel found it even harder to understand. "But Aunt, if Lydia's baby stays, you could be holding your grandchild this year. Lydia can still have more children, and she and Quincy haven't let go of each other. Who knows, maybe they'll end up having another one."
