Crushed Affections (Dominic and Bella)

Chapter 266

Chapter 266 Did You Sneak out Last Night

Lia sald seriously, "He's not that kind of guy. We've been talking for

awhile, and we live in the same city. I invited him to visit my studio, and he turned

It down. I even asked him out for coffee, but he said he was too busy.

"If he were some creepy old pery, he would've jumped at the chance to meet up. I'm pretty good at reading people, so don't take me for a fool."

Bella didn't comment

Lla was better at judging people than she was. Even though Lia's last two boyfriends had been scared off thanks to Leonard's meddling, neither of them. had any real flaws. When the yarn Lia was using for the scarf ran out, she didn't hesitate to ask Bella to help organize the new batch.

As Bella looked at the different colored balls of yarn in her hands, a strange curiosity sparked within her.

She liked trying new things. Over the years, she had picked up a variety of hobbies, from drawing to piano. However, knitting a scarf? That was completely foreign territory.

Almost as if Lia could read her mind, she handed Bella two knitting needles. "Give it a shot. If you pick the right colors, your scarf won't be any worse than the ones from the store. And you know Dominic wouldn't like anything too bright."

Bella took the needles, pretending to be indifferent though her concentration gave her away. "I'm just messing around. Who said I'm knitting it for him? His ties and belts are worth more than I can imagine. He probably wouldn't even glance at my scrappy scarf."

Lia scoffed. "Yeah, right. If you're not giving it to him, then who else? You don't exactly have anyone else in mind."

By 5:00 pm, Bella had parked up her half-knitted scarf along with the remaining yarn, bringing them back to Miller Manor.

After dinner, she immediately holed herself up in her room to continue knitting

Knitting a decent scarf turned out to be harder than she had expected, and it quickly replaced her usual evening routine of reading

Seeing how strangely she was acting, Dominic grew suspicious. He called Sylvia over. "What did she do this afternoon?"

Sylvia thought for a moment. "She went to Ms. Lawson's place, I think. They're close, so it's pretty normal for them to hang out together."

Domine still felt something was off. He went upstairs and stopped in front of Bella's room. "Want to take the dog for a walk?"

Bella quickly yanked the blanket over her half-knitted scarf, glanced at the light snow falling outside the window, and said, "Not today. It's snowing. You go ahead, but come back soon."

He didn't respond, and after a moment, she heard his footsteps fade down the hallway.

Bella let out a sigh of reliet, carefully locked the door, and continued knitting. She stayed up late working on it until she eventually fell asleep.

The next morning, she made her way downstairs while yawning and bumped into Dominic, who didn't seem too pleased. Not noticing his expression, she greeted him as usual, "Morning"

He set a glass of milk down in front of her with a thud. "Did you sneak out to commit robbery last night or something?""

s pretty good..."

Bella froze. "No... I stayed up late watching a show. There's a new show out, and it's pretty Dominic saw right through her lie. "You don't even like watching shows. You're more into those weird, boring books." Weird and boring?

Bella thought about the books on her shelves. Most of them were related to medicine, with a few focused on anatomy How were they weird? Sure, they weren't everyone's cup of tea, but it made sense to love what you did, right? So, in his She didn't bother responding as she was still a bit groggy, so she just focused on her breakfast. Her mind had already shifted to the surgeries she was scheduled for at the hospital later that day.

eyes, she was just some oddball?

However, Dominic seemed to lose his appetite. With a grim expression, he stood up and headed toward the entryway.

Bella snapped out of her thoughts just in time to call after him. "It's pretty cold today. Don't forget to wear a coat and take it easy on the road "

His expression softened slightly. As he walked out the door, he tossed back, "You're the one reminding me-don't forget it yourself."
