His destined mate

Chapter 26: hopeful day

Ethan's POV

After the war, the battle left the palace ravaged and ruined, but in the following days, I do not know how, but the hallways became filled with hope, albeit careful. Word on the recent diplomatic success that included the joining of one more powerful neighboring kingdom has spread quite fast Within days., this victory lauded the people's spirit and moreover gave them some much needed relief from the everyday anxiety. Bianca and I went outside of the palace on the balcony where there was an adequate view of the gardens. The once tiffed grounds were now a field of the calm with blooming flowers and the nice buzzing of nature. How different it feels from how it was.

"It's just strange... it's strange how things are so different now," Bianca said contemplatively staring into the distance. "This is so tranquil. The gardens are so serene too. It is almost hard to believe that we have lived through such turmoil." I took her hand in mine and nodded. "It is note that even in the bleakest of times, there is more to the world than war or famine. It is a small triumph and such should be clasped tightly."

That win was enough to raise the spirits of the troop. The alliance was a relief not only providing additional resources, but enhancing our defenses against any other challenges. It was a partial solution towards tranquillity and this assurance was necessary for our people.

As we proceeded in the large shawl, now lively with activities to prepare for a festivities, I could feel where the atmosphere went. There was merriment and music where round with activities. This combination had been missing for a long period. It was a great relief and I prepared myself to enjoy it.

The Imperial Palace threw a huge party in the evening to celebrate our victory. The grand hall was decorated with beautiful lighting and decorations in respect of the occasion as the merry atmosphere had got everyone. Sounds of a live band filled the room and the guests moved around, relieved and breaking into laughter.

As the night went on and as the many guests were already becoming accustomed to, Bianca and I made our way into the crowd and met the guests and everyone else in the room. Winning the round was cause for celebration but we still had our heads on straight. We still had to overcome many odds that lay ahead but for that moment, the moment restricted to one evening, we took it all in.

"Ethan, look at everyone," Bianca rolled back her head as she wound her arm's elbow towards me to draw me to her direction. "They're all smiling for the first time in a while."

I caressed her hand softly before letting go. "That is a great advancement. They were abnormal. So were we."

Eventually, we managed to corner ourselves in a more relaxed place of the hall, somewhere away from the hassle of things. The celebration could still be heard faintly from this place so the various warm candles were indeed a welcome. I took her into my arms and hugged her so tightly.

"I can say that this moment is very important," I continued saying after gazing into her eyes. "What we have disenchanted ourselves was so long, and yet here we are, living these fragments of happiness."

Bianca leaned on my shoulder. "It is these instances that I am reminded of what it is that we are fighting for. The happiness of the people and our future together."

We sat together in a warm and calm atmosphere and although a large celebration was going on, we could hardly hear its sounds. We found peace in happy feelings from the victory and also from Bianca's calming body heat.

As the time passed, the indulging fun still went on unhindered but together with Bianca, we felt that it was time to steal some moments within ourselves. We stepped outside to a small private terrace where the cool night air cooled down the heat caused by the room.

The sky full of stars and the vast grounds of the palace being illuminated with dim light from the Center's lanterns made for a memorable photo. There was calmness in the atmosphere, and for a moment, we were able to let go off the burdens and duties that were awaiting.

"most timesdo you look up in the. Sky and the stars and feel like everything will be fine one day?" she asked, her voice sounding so calm.

I looked up at the sky, the big and bright star was twinkling above us. "yes, sometimes I do. It's hard to believe that such beauty exists in the midst of everything we've been going through. Then it was moments like this that made me believe so much that we can overcome anything".

She smiled, her eyes shining so brightly. "I also feel the same. It is these little moments of peace that gives me hope."

I pulled her closer to my chest and we shared a tender kiss, the world around us fading into the background. The connection we felt at that moment was deep and unshakable, and it was a reminder of the strength we drew from each other. Few minutes later, we went back to see the celebration. The sense of positive minds that had been building felt more real. The people's spirits were very high, and for the first time in a long while, there was a trace of genuine hope. The celebration ended with joy and hope for better days.

I sat on the bed resting my back to the wall, thinking on the things we've been through within the year. Something has to be done before hand. We need to be two steps ahead. Still thinking on these things Bianca came out from from the restroom on a short nighty, exposing her delicate nipples and her curvy shape.

I felt hot down between my legs immediately. My eyes and whole attention fixed on her but she didn't notice my stare and was focused on packing her hair for her sleep.

Her curvy and transparent clothes pulled me up from my sitted position. And I walked to her to have a touch of that alluring body.

I stood at her back, pecked her back neck "Is everything okay?" She asked and chuckled at a time. "Yeah" I whispered to her ears "you are so beautiful" I whispered to her again then reaching out to her delicate breast.
