His destined mate

Chapter 60: The Dark Hour

Ethan's

POV

As the world fell apart, darkness covered us like a veil. I felt Bianca's hand grip mine tightly, and our connection made me nervous. Falling rocks echoed around us, drowning out the battle screams above.

"Ethan! We need speed!" Bianca shouted, her voice tearing through the cacophony. I blinked at the dust and debris, trying to regain my bearings. "This way!" she said, smirking. I pulled her to the exit, but the wind was strong, almost painful, as we made our way to the broken road.

Every step was a gamble; The ground beneath us seemed unstable, threatening to give way at any moment. The vibration of the fall of the castle, reverberating in our bones, encouraged us to flee. We stumbled into a large building, the remains of stone walls and crumbling pillars lining the floor.

"This way!" he said, smirking. I searched, pointing to a faint light in the distance. A heavy crash hit behind them as they rushed forward. I turned just in time to see a hole in the roof, debris flying towards us.

"run!" I screamed, adrenaline coursed through my veins. Bianca's hand tightened as we sped toward the light, falling rocks and chaotic dust swirling around us. The time felt overwhelming, like a nightmare where every second stretched on forever. But I refused to let fear overwhelm me. We had to survive.

By Bianca's POV

Every instinct screamed at me to run away as the ground shook beneath us. I could barely see through the thick cloud of dust, but Ethan's presence set me up. We pushed through the chaos, focusing only on the light ahead. "It's almost there!" Ethan shouted, his determination increasing my own. But as soon as we reached the exit, a deafening roar filled the room, and I heard the air change.

"Ethan, be careful!" I cried, as a large boulder broke off the roof and fell beside us. Within a split second, Ethan pushed me aside, and I watched in horror as a rock fell from where he stood.

"Ethan!" I screamed, fear running through my veins. I hurried back, eager to push the debris aside, but the weight was too heavy. "Ethan, can you hear me?" I called out, my voice trembling.

"Please say something!" Silence answered, and everything cold swallowed my hope. "Stay there again!" A voice roared from the shadows, pulling me out of my panic. It was Elara, with an unclean look of worry on her face.

"We have to go, Bianca! now!" "No! I can't leave him!" I protested, my heart pounding in frustration. "Ethan knows the ins and outs," Elara insisted, taking my hand. "If we don't avoid it, his sacrifice will be in vain." I looked back at the wreckage, shadow swallowed up where Ethan was. "He can't go! He wouldn't leave me!" "Bianca!" Elara's voice cut through my frustration.

"We have to make a choice! If we are still here, we cannot save him." Tears filled my eyes, but the reality of the situation crashed over me. I had to choose. I felt my heart split in two as I turned away from the wreckage, knowing I was leaving him forever.

Ethan's POV

I struggled to regain my sanity, and the world revolved around me. Pain radiated through my body, and I fought to open my eyes. The light I saw moments ago was shining, but I was trapped under a hill of rocks.

"Bianca!" I rasped, barely audible. I pushed against the weight in front of me, but it was no use. Fear clenched my fingers inside and my heart pounded. I had to go out-look for him. That's when I felt the surge of energy radiating inside me. Meeting Bianca inspired me to be determined.

Working with every ounce of magic I had, I focused on the boulder pushing against me, willing it to deflect. With brutal force, I summoned a wave of magic, shattering the debris above me. The rocks crumbled, and I gasped for air, the world flooding back into my mind.

I struggled to my feet, every muscle screaming in protest. "Bianca!" he said. he said, smirking. I screamed again, frustration flowing through me. I stumbled towards the dim light, knowing I had to look for it. The castle was in ruins, but I would not lose it. As I reached the edge of the room, the scene in front of me stopped me in my tracks. Bianca stood with Elara, her face pale and dirty. Relief flooded through me, but it was quickly overshadowed by fear of Derek's lingering threat. Ethan!" Bianca cried as she rushed towards me, her eyes wide. I barely have time to hug her before the ground shakes violently again. "We have to go! Derek is still out there!"

I pulled her closer and warned her. But just as we went to run away, Derek appeared in front of us, his smile twisted and mischievous. "Did you think you could escape me?"

he scoffed, his followers coming after him. When Derek raised his hand, the air tightened with tension, dark energy swirling around him. "You've lost everything, brother.

This time, you won't run away." "Go back!" I screamed instinctively as I stood in front of Bianca. The room shook with the force from Derek, the shadows creeping nearby. As the energy built up, I felt the weight of the moment pressing against

me.

I had fought so hard to protect what was important to me, but this was when anything could go wrong. "Let's get this over with," Derek shouted, darkness swirling ominously. At that moment, I knew we were standing on the edge of the abyss, and if we fell, there would be no recovery.
