Chapter 560: I Want Daddy
Hector looked coolly at Thomas, who was watching the gossip, and ordered in a quiet voice, "All right, stop gossiping and gather everyone for a morning meeting later." Thomas nodded at his words and, not daring to linger, led the way out.
When Thomas had gone, the little tail at his feet made a sticky sound.
"Hugs..."
The little girl cocked her little head, her dark, shiny eyes looking bashfully at Hector, and stretched out her soft hands towards him, begging for a hug. Hector lowered his eyes and a doting glint came into them.
He bent down and picked up the little girl with one hand and sat down on the edge of the chair.
Small hands wrapped themselves around Hector's neck and went restlessly to play with Hector's bow tie.
His suit was also wrinkled under the little girl's ravages.
The little girl babbled her words, smearing drool on Hector's white shirt at times.
In the past, Hector, who has a cleanliness problem, would have blacked out.
But now, without a frown on his face, he lets the little girl climb up him and have fun as if she were climbing a mountain.
Hector carefully propped up the little girl with a doting smile on his lips.
Thomas came in and saw the scene and bellied up, it was so bizarre.
The CEO is on the wrong side of the tracks, letting a little kid do whatever he wants to him.
But he did not dare to say these words.
He gave a clear cough and said to Hector, "President, the department heads have been called to the conference room and are just waiting for you."
It was then that Hector, who was interacting with the little girl, lifted his eyes and responded lazily, "Hmm."
Hector lifted his hand and carried the little girl, who had climbed onto his shoulder, down and slumped his jacket on the table before putting her up. Then he looked down and slowly straightened his tie.
The little girl was carried down, disgruntled and unhappy, and was about to go over towards Hector, holding out her hand towards him, "Give me a hug ..." Hector nudged the little girl's nose with his fingertips, shook his head and said in a soft voice, "Girl, wait here for a while, uncle is going to a meeting." The little girl's expression changed when she realised that Hector was leaving, tinted with a touch of unease.
Her little arms flailed about in the air, grabbing Hector's arm and dying to let go.
With glistening tears eating away at her eyes, she pouted at Hector in aggression. "No, no, no, play with me."
The soft words paired with the sobbing expression hit the softest spot in Hector's heart.
His expression was slightly hesitant.
Seeing the situation, Thomas hastily called out to a secretary, pointing at her and asking, "Little girl, will you let this pretty sister accompany you?" "No! I want daddy."
The little girl's eyes swept over the secretary on one side, her brow furrowed.
Thomas continued to coax, "Then I, your uncle, will play with you, okay?"
"No, you're not as handsome as my daddy."
When Thomas said this, the little girl's head shook like a rattle and she balked.
Thomas covered his chest and a mouthful of blood nearly spurted out.
Why on earth is such a fart-sized kid so logical and so articulate that he dislikes him speechless..
Hector was in a happy mood when he heard that, and a smile spilled out of the corners of his mouth without moving.
It's not a waste of time for this little girl.
A beautiful secretary on one side leapt at the sight and spoke to Thomas.
"I'll try it."
Traumatised and not daring to have another conversation with this little devil, Thomas took the initiative to step aside and see what other tricks the secretary had up her sleeve.
When the little girl saw the situation, her eyes twinkled and her little legs moved backwards cautiously, about to climb down from the table, as if she was afraid that Hector would take advantage of the opportunity to run away. Hector was afraid she would fall and rushed to pick her up and put her on the ground.
As soon as the little girl hit the ground, she had a death grip on Hector's thigh, ghostly and clever as can be.
The secretary pulled a lollipop out of her pocket and she bent down slightly with a smile on her lips.
To the little girl, she said, "Little girl, would you like to eat this lollipop?"
She had just heard that Thomas had asked her to come and look after the little girl and had found a candy bar in passing to bring over, which came in handy.
After seeing the candy, the little girl's eyes followed the colourful stick for a moment, her eyes straightened and she couldn't move.
The little mouth subconsciously licked its lips and swallowed, with a drop still leaking out of the corner of its mouth.
"Wanted."
Her little hands were dumbfounded, but politely controlled not to grasp them.
The secretary saw this and hooked a winning smile.
Continuing to entice the little girl, she said, "If you want, go outside with your sister to get it, okay? There are lots of sweets over there on the counter." She reached out her hand towards the little girl and tried to trick her away from her own president with sweets.
In her experience, children are not resistant to things like sugar.
Sure enough, the next moment, the little girl showed a difficult expression.
She looked at Hector and then at the lollipop in her secretary's hand and frowned nervously.
Thomas and the secretary watched her with expectant eyes, their breath held as they thought the plan had worked.
And Hector is watching at the moment with some anticipation.
He raised his eyebrows slightly and pursed his lips, keen to see whether the little girl chose him or the candy.
With the two of them looking on, the little girl spoke up, "Then I don't want the candy cane."
With a little head shake, he turned and wrapped his arms around Hector's thighs and snuggled closer.
The secretary froze in place in embarrassment, her face green and red.
Thomas also fell down in frustration for a moment and looked at the little girl with a broken heart, "Why don't you want candy? Don't you like candy?"
"If you like Daddy better, you want him to play with you."
The little girl tilted her head up and smiled a little, a smile sweeter than honey, and asked him for a hug.
The corners of Hector's mouth couldn't help but grin, and even the coldest heart would melt at this moment.
He looked down and picked up his little girl and turned to Thomas and said, "Never mind, just go to your morning meeting and just talk to me about important matters."
With these words he walked back to his desk with his little girl in his arms, gesturing for the two to leave first.
Thomas saw this and had to leave unhappily.
The little girl rubbed her chin against Hector's and gave a winning smile.
A glint ran through her eyes as she pouted, "Daddy go with your girl to buy sweets and also cake."
"Good." Hector answered softly.
Thomas, who had walked to the door, had been shocked by Hector's decision to cancel the meeting.
When he heard that he had to take the little girl out to buy a cake, he almost slipped when he stumbled on his feet.
So that's what this little girl had in mind. No wonder the sweets couldn't tempt her.
With Hector, how much candy do you want to eat without?
So resourceful, the little girl!
Thomas was amazed, not only did he think the little girl was unnaturally spooky, but his boss was also unnaturally talkative. If this was Solomon, he would have been thrown out by Hector.
