Chapter 1080
Alivia's eyes gleamed with a wicked delight as she stepped out of the car to open the door for Noir.
Noir, however, was reluctant to leave, wanting to stay by Isaac's side every moment. But Isaac's command was law to Noir, so with a pitiful whine, it hopped out of the car. As the door slammed shut, Alivia floored the gas pedal, her eyes glinting with malice.
Noir, left behind, sprinted towards the villa, even knowing to knock on the door.
The moment it entered the living room, King noticed. It was strange; Noir was usually glued to Isaac. Why was it back now when Isaac hadn't come down?
King gently laid the still-sleeping Brielle aside, but she woke up as he did.
King stood, briefly checked upstairs for Isaac, and then turned to the shadowy bodyguard.
"Where is he?"
"The young master has left."
King dialed the bodyguards tasked with Isaac's safety, all operating from the shadows.
"Where's the kid?"
"Sir, the young master got into a woman's car-a woman named Alivia. I'll send you the details shortly."
King knew Alivia, and a flicker of anger crossed his eyes. This was a death wish.
"Send me the location and make sure he's safe."
If they couldn't protect a child, they might as well pay with their lives.
"Yes, sir, we won't let the young master out of our sight!"
King strode downstairs, and Brielle, noting his grim expression, instinctively followed him as he was about to leave the villa.
King didn't stop her. In fact, he pulled her into his embrace as they got into the car.
The driver glanced at them through the rearview mirror but kept silent, focusing on the road.
Brielle could tell everyone around King was terrified of him, their heads practically touching the ground when-speaking to him. No surprise there who wouldn't fear a volatile tyrant? en FindNovel
But King seemed oblivious, enjoying the control he wielded over others.
Brielle kept her mouth shut, knowing that talking to King would only result in hearing words she didn't want to hear.
Better to stay silent.
King, feeling triumphant, also kept quiet.
Meanwhile, Alivia had driven to an abandoned amusement park.
The area was recently bought for redevelopment-it used to be a popular amusement park. But after several fatal accidents due to aging equipment, it was shut down and auctioned off.
Yet, the rides still worked, and Alivia knew just placing the child on one could end in disaster.
The thought of killing Max's child filled her with a twisted satisfaction.
She knew her mind was warped but felt compelled to act.
"Sweetie, your daddy's waiting for you on the Ferris wheel," she coaxed Isaac towards the ride, its gate already open. All he had to do was
step inside, and she could press a
nearby button.
If the Ferris wheel malfunctioned, Isaac would fall to his death. If not, he'd be trapped until he starved.
Either way, Alivia was pleased with the outcome.
The hidden bodyguards didn't intervene, knowing that Isaac, raised alongside their distrustful master, shared his suspicion. Isaac looked up, taking Alivia's hand.
"Scared, you go first."
Frustration flitted across Alivia's face as she roughly hoisted him by his collar into the ride.
"Don't worry, your daddy's up there waiting for you."
Her face twisted into a grotesque smile, her features contorted with excitement.
