Chapter 1199
Wasn't she the woman who got her heart broken by a jerk named Dustin? Turns out, she's the town doctor. "Quick! Where's the doctor? Someone get over here and dress this wound!"
The agent shouted in a panic while the bodyguards rushed to the door to hold back the frenzied fans.
Aubree was hurt, and given her current status, it was a big deal!
It didn't take long for her to trend on Twitter, and the topic exploded.
Her fame was overwhelming. Entering this hospital turned it into a madhouse.
Aubree frowned, tilted her chin up, and pointed at Emma.
"Let her do it. It's not serious. Just clean and bandage it. No need to make a fuss."
Emma froze in place until the attending physician gave her a quick nudge.
"What are you waiting for? Go on."
Emma hurriedly nodded, helped Aubree into the room, and began to treat her wound.
Aubree's agent, from Stellar Stage Entertainment, was highly responsible. With Aubree's injury trending, the agent had already received a slew of calls from the media, all eager to get a piece of the action.
The agent quickly brushed them off but paused when she saw Andrew's call, instinctively glancing at Aubree.
She couldn't just ignore this call.
Moving to a secluded corner, she answered, "Mr. Clements."
"She's injured?"
"Yes, a prop cut her hand. She's at the hospital now, but it's not serious."
"A prop cut her? Didn't anyone check these props beforehand?"
The agent tasted bitterness; it was the prop department's mistake, yet she was getting scolded.
She heard heavy breathing from the other end of the line, guessing Mr. Clements was running.
"I'll catch the next flight over. Make sure she's okay and nothing else happens."
"I understand, Mr. Clements."
After hanging up, the agent wiped the sweat from her forehead, only to see Aubree chatting with the doctor treating her.
Aubree found this woman beautiful, with a raw charm unlike the polished belles raised in the city.
"How's your child?"
Emma didn't expect her to remember, considering she was a celebrity who met countless people daily.
"Still in the womb."
"Planning on keeping it?"
"Yes."
Emma had regained her composure by then, carefully bandaging the wound.
Finally, Aubree had to head back to the set, but before leaving, she pulled out a piece of paper.
"Let me give you an autograph."
Emma had just found out from a coworker that day that Aubree seldom signed autographs to avoid disrupting the market.
She immediately wanted to decline, but with so many eyes on her, rejecting Aubree publicly could embarrass her. So, she just pursed her lips. "Thank you."
Aubree coolly signed her name and left with her agent and security.
People immediately crowded around Emma.
"You're so lucky to get her autograph."
"I'll give you seven hundred bucks for it!"
"Emma, sell me that autograph, I'll pay any price."
Emma indeed needed money, but the autograph was sincerely given. Selling it would feel wrong.
"Sorry, it's not for sale."
Her colleagues looked disappointed, wishing they had been the ones to treat Aubree.
When Aubree returned to the set, she saw Ricardo on the phone.
Ricardo was an odd character. Friendly, yet without close friends but not somber either, despite his harmless appearance. He always had a smile for everyone.
Whatever the person on the other end said, Ricardo's eyes flashed with a hint of malice. The voice of a professor came through.
"The organization is gone. Everyone's scattered, trying to regroup. Ricardo, it's time you came back. You've been out there long enough, don't forget who you are."
Ricardo had been following recent global news. The North American monarchy faced worldwide accusations. Prince Arthur had publicly promised to investigate the secrets of a certain mountain thoroughly and provide the world with answers.
Ricardo, merely an assassin for the organization, followed orders from its members like a tool.
The professor sighed heavily on the phone.
"That traitor, I never thought they'd go this far. It must be Brielle's doing. We need to retaliate at all costs, Ricardo. We must make them pay." Bloodshot eyes spoke of the professor's rage. Now scattered, the organization had fallen apart, and i was unclear how many were left. But it didn't matter. They still had themselves.
It was all Brielle's fault. If only Brielle had been eliminated back then, things wouldn't have escalated to this point.
