Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time

Chapter Divorce Long 110

Chapter 110

Maggie heard this and realized that Isabella was probably thinking about Julia.

Isabella had followed Franklin's advice and stayed at the Miller family home, obediently not running off. However, it was clear that her mind wasn't in the Miller family house.

She had sent several messages to Aunt Julie that day, but Aunt Julie seemed to be busy and hadn't replied much.

the afternoon, they all went to the hotel. By around 6 o'clock, the guests began to arrive.

Jason received the gifts and led the guests to their seats. But he noticed that some of them looked a little awkward and said, "Sorry, Mr. Miller, I have another banquet to attend today. I'll just have a glass of water and then leave." Jason and Maggie both understood that the guest had other matters to attend to, so they didn't try to keep them.

They thought it was just an isolated case. However, half an hour later, they saw many business partners deliver their gifts and leave quickly. A number of them didn't even come in person; instead, they sent their secretaries with the gifts. They had reserved numerous banquet tables, but given the current situation, it seemed that more than half of them would remain empty that night.

A joyous occasion, a carefully prepared birthday banquet... and yet, this situation was unfolding.

If the matriarch found out, her mood would surely be affected.

Jason could understand that if some people had something else to attend to, they would leave early. But it was hard to hide the disappointment on his face.

Seeing so many people hurriedly leaving to attend another banquet, Jason couldn't help but ask a business partner he was closer with, Mr. Lane,

"Many of our friends have said they can't stay for dinner tonight. Coincidentally, they've all mentioned they're going to another banquet. If you don't mind me asking, Mr. Lane, which wedding banquet are you attending?"

After all, these guests who had left early or sent gifts in advance were all attending another wedding. Could it be the same one that Mr. Lane was going to?

It seemed too much of a coincidence.

"Green family," Mr. Lane replied, then added,

"It's your girlfriend's grandmother's family. They're not from L. City, but they've recently bought a property in the capital. Today is the housewarming celebration for their new home."

Upon hearing this, both Maggie and Jason's faces changed.

They had thought that the issue with the villa had been settled, and there wouldn't be any further developments.

But they hadn't expected the Green family to arrange such a thing on the very same day!

Chapter 110

They couldn't believe that the Green family scheduled their housewarming for today by mere coincidence.

After all, the matriarch of the Green family and Julia's grandmother had known each other for many years. They had celebrated each other's birthdays countless times. Could the Green family have forgotten that today was the matriarch of Miller's birthday?

No.

Some people didn't want to offend Franklin, while others were eager to get closer to the Brown family and the Green family.

er all, the Miller family had fallen on hard times over the years, while the Brown and Green families had the strong backing of Franklin. It was an obvious choice.

Mr. Lane apologized to Jason before leaving.

At the beginning, the matriarch and Maggie's maternal aunt, Helen, hadn't paid much attention to the departure of the guests.

But as more and more guests arrived, only to leave soon after, and as the banquet hall emptied out while the meal was about to begin. they began to notice something was wrong,

The matriarch and Helen walked over, frowning and asking, "Why have so many guests left? What's going on?"

Jason and Maggie didn't know how to respond at first. But at this point, it was impossible to stay silent.

Jason sighed and said, "The Green and Brown families have both moved to the capital, and the Green family decided to schedule their housewarming for today. They sent invitations to most of our guests, so..." He trailed off, unable to finish his sentence.

The situation was now clear to everyone. The Green family had deliberately arranged for the housewarming on the same day as the matriarch's birthday to create this very scenario.

Jason and Maggie exchanged a worried glance, both of them concerned about how the matriarch would take the news.

The Green family had repaid kindness with ingratitude, and the consequences had left the Rong family in this state.

As long as Sally was still in the rehabilitation center, they could never forget the grudge. And now, they had escalated things. by deliberately sabotaging the birthday celebration.

The matriarch, however, had been through countless trials in her life. Upon hearing this, she simply gripped the edge of the table tightly.

The next moment, her sharp eyes locked onto Jason and Maggie, and she said. "Is that person named Wilson supporting them from behind?"

Otherwise, how could the Green family, with no roots in the capital, manage to invite so many people to their event, especially when they had just moved here?

Maggie lowered her gaze, her voice thick with emotion. "Yes..."

Her eyes turned red as she apologized, "Grandina. I'm sorry." 12:56

The matriarch gently touched her face with affection. "It's not your fault. You all underestimated their vile and shameless nature."

"Grandma..." Maggie said softly.

"Don't worry." The matriarch swept her gaze over the banquet hall, which now felt empty due to so many empty seats.

Her expression was calm and composed as she said, "It's just a birthday. What does it matter how we celebrate it? As long as you all are well, that's all I ask. Everything else is trivial. No need to care too much." "Remember, I've always told you not to punish yourself because of others' shamelessness, understand?"
