Maggie paused, understanding that he meant she had agreed to accompany Daisy five times in total.

She said, "Got it."

Daisy came over with two scarves, ready to build a bigger snowman, one large and one small, side by side, like her and Maggie. She even told Harry to help. Harry silently followed her instructions.

When they finished the large snowman, Daisy had Harry take pictures of her and Maggie together.

Harry, holding his phone, looked at Maggie's smiling face through the camera and took several pictures.

The fun passed quickly, and before long, the sky had darkened. The scent of food from the barbecue filled the air, and the tents were lit up.

Harry asked, "Seafood, are you having some?"

Maggie: "Mm."

Harry handed her a few skewers.

There were quite a few people who had come to the winter camp, and though the tents weren't crowded, the atmosphere was Hively. They mentioned having a bonfire party later. Harry asked, "Want to join?"

"I'm fine with anything."

Just as Harry was about to speak, his phone suddenly rang.

It was a call from Levi.

Harry walked further away to answer the phone.

Levi: "How about we go for a drink later?"

Harry: "Not going, you guys go ahead."

"What's going on-

At this moment, Daisy ran over, holding a skewer of grilled food: "Uncle, chicken wings."

Harry bent down to take it.

Levi heard the sound: "Are you eating barbecue?"

"Mm."

"Where?"

Outside," he said: "We went camping."

"Damn! The snow has been heavy these days. Going camping, playing snowball fights while making a bonfire is perfect. How did I not think of it!"

Then, as an afterthought, he said, "Wait, you're going camping and didn't invite us?!"

Harry replied: "Next time for sure."

"No, no, that aunt of Daisy's is there, right? Where are you? I'll come over now.

No, I can call Frank and the others, and we can all go together-"

Harry: "Gotta go now."

Before Levi could respond, Harry hung up the phone.

The sky had completely darkened.

The temperature in the mountains was dropping rapidly.

Harry put his phone away, turned around, and saw Maggie and Daisy sitting together, eating and chatting. He went back to the tent and came out with a large and a small thick coat. He handed the larger one to Maggie.

Maggie saw it and said, "I'm not cold-"

"Just wear it," Harry said as he shook out the coat and casually draped it over her shoulders. He also gave the smaller one to Daisy.

Maggie wasn't cold, but after putting on the thick coat, it blocked most of the mountain wind and indeed made her feel warmer, so she didn't refuse.

After finishing the barbecue, the bonfire party was about to start, so they headed over there.

As soon as they arrived, someone couldn't help but say, "Wow, this family of three looks really dazzling."

Maggie paused and explained, "We're not a family of three."

The people laughed, thinking that even though they weren't a family of three now, there was a good chance they might be in the future.

After a while, Daisy went off to play with some kids her age.

Most of the others were camping with friends or family, sitting in groups, chatting, playing cards, building snowmen, and having snowball fights. It was quite lively. Maggie and Harry didn't know anyone here. After Daisy left, the two of them fell into silence.

They really didn't have much to talk about.

Talking about family would bring up Franklin and Julia, which was a sensitive topic for Maggie. Talking about work might remind her of the unpleasant experience at Wilson Tech.

Finally, Harry broke the silence: "How are you adjusting to Cole?"

Maggie was feeling a bit bored, but she didn't plan to engage in a deep conversation with Harry. Silence between them suited her just fine.

As she was weaving a butterfly with some dry grass, she answered: "I'm adjusting."

"Johnny takes good care of you."

"Mm."

"You studied Al in university?"

"Mm."

"How did you meet Johnny?"

When Maggie heard this, she didn't answer.

Harry could tell that she didn't want to chat much and had been keeping her distance from him the whole time.

He understood why, so he didn't push further.

During the conversation, he received several phone calls.

By the time he returned, it was already quite late.

Maggie had woven several butterflies, and Daisy was very fond of them, carefully putting them into her pocket.

Seeing how precious Daisy treated them, Maggie's smile faltered.

There was a time when Isabella, like Daisy, used to cherish everything about her.

But all of that had long become a thing of the past.

That night, Daisy insisted on sleeping with Maggie.

Harry looked at Maggie, asking her opinion.

Maggie agreed.

Daisy happily snuggled up to her."

Maggie to hold her as she slept, but that was not going to happen this time.

Daisy's health wasn't strong. The night before, the wind had been too strong, and she might have caught a chill. She woke up the next day with a cold. Maggie hadn't slept well either and was feeling a bit sluggish.

Harry decided to take Daisy to the hospital. Maggie wanted to drive back by herself, but Daisy, in a cute way, begged her to accompany her to the hospital. Seeing Daisy's sickly state, Maggie agreed.

So, they got into Harry's car.

Maggie and Daisy both fell asleep shortly after getting in.

Harry glanced at Maggie's pale face, her long hair partially covering her face.

He instinctively reached out to adjust her hair but withdrew his hand when he saw her eyelashes flutter slightly as if she was about to wake up.
