Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time

Chapter Divorce Long 17

Chapter 17

The elderly lady frowned, "Mag

"Mom's here?" Isabella had just come down from the second floor in the elevator. Seeing Maggie, she was quite happy, after all, she hadn't been in contact with her for over two weeks.

e interrupted the elderly lady and threw herself into Maggie's arms, "Mom!" Maggie paused, gently hugged her back with a soft "mm," but said nothing more.

The elderly lady actually didn't want Maggie to leave Wilson Group. However, seeing Isabella present, she didn't continue the previous topic, instead smiling and saying to Maggie, "Mag, it's been so long since I've had tea made by you. Would you make some for grandmother?"

Having grown up at Grandmother Wilson's side, Maggie had developed a calm and patient nature

from a young age.

With her natural talent and years of practice, her tea ceremony skills were quite good. "Of course, but it's almost dinner time..."

Maria, who preferred coffee to tea and didn't like watching Maggie's tea ceremony, cut in, "Yes, we'l start dinner soon when Frank and York return..." Just as she finished speaking, Franklin arrived. Upon entering, he first greeted the elderly lady and Stella. Seeing Maggie, he glanced at her briefly before looking away, sitting down in a single chair far from

her.

Seeing Franklin, Isabella immediately left Maggie's embrace and ran to him, "Dad!"

"Mm." Franklin hugged her, looked around, and was about to speak when Maria arrived.

York was much younger than Maria and Franklin, not yet an adult. With his sunny disposition, he bounded in, gracefully jumping over the sofa armrest to land smoothly on the seat.

Seeing everyone present, he smiled, "Were you all waiting for me?" Maria playfully smacked his head, "Yes, we've all been starving waiting for you!"

While Franklin was reserved and rarely spoke, and Maria was hot-tempered, York was the family's joy, particularly close to his parents.

Upon his arrival, even Stella's cold expression softened into a smile, and the elderly lady grew more cheerful. Seeing it was getting late and everyone was hungry, she ordered dinner to be served. With just nine people, they went to the small dining room. The seating arrangement placed the elderly lady, Franklin, Isabella, and Maggie together.

The elderly lady smiled and beckoned to Isabella, "Bella, switch seats with your father, let your parents sit together." The elderly lady was always trying tirelessly to bring Maggie and Franklin closer. Everyone else was used to this by now. They all thought her efforts were futile. After all, despite all her matchmaking attempts over the years, Franklin's attitude toward Maggie hadn't changed one

bit.

Knowing how useless these attempts were, Maria smiled sarcastically, not even bothering to get involved this time, and simply sat down wherever.

Though Franklin disliked his grandmother's arrangements, he wouldn't defy her on minor matters.

So he remained silent. His silence meant tacit acceptance. Maggie no longer felt joy at the elderly

lady's matchmaking attempts.

Her expression remained neutral, though she smiled gently at the elderly lady and said, "It's fine, Grandmother, let's stay as we are."

The elderly lady felt somewhat helpless, thinking Maggie was too passive, too accommodating with Franklin, wasting many opportunities over the years, which led to their lack of progress. But since Maggie had spoken, she didn't insist. As dinner formally began, everyone chatted while eating, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Maggie rarely spoke, quietly eating with her head down.

It had been over ten minutes since Franklin arrived, and the married couple hadn't exchanged a single word.

They hadn't communicated at all. This was normal for them as a couple. Everyone was used to it and

didn't find it unusual.

When Isabella wanted something to eat, while Maggie used to take care of her, she now habitually asked Franklin to help her.

However, when she wanted the large shrimp, she looked toward Maggie. Because in the past,

Maggie would always peel shrimp for both her and Franklin.

"Mom, I want to eat the large shrimp."
