Chapter 96 –
Windy dashed over the moment she saw Ivy. "Ivy!"
Agatha also wanted to jump at Ivy, but Sebastian grabbed her clothes to prevent her from doing so.
"One at a time! Don't get your hands on my sister's wounds!"
Agatha stopped fighting him right away. Her concern was visible in her eyes. "Are you hurt?"
Ivy smiled as she patted Windy's back and looked at Agatha.
"I'm all right now, mostly recovered!"
Simon Albert, who was standing off to the side, appeared disheveled, thin, and depleted. He had stubble all over his jaw from not shaving in days.
Simon began to sob as he kneeled on one knee in front of Ivy's hospital bed, seeing that she was fine.
Windy, who was also choking back sobs, was at a loss for words. Agatha couldn't say anything because she was too shocked. The somewhat depressing atmosphere vanished in an instant.
Leo, who pretended not to notice, stood helplessly up and carried Simba out of the room.
"Those who don't know are going to think someone just died," Leo muttered as he approached the door.
Sebastian was also speechless as he watched Simon cry hysterically, unconcerned about his image.
Sebastian couldn't take it any longer and dashed out the door to get some fresh air.
Agatha finally dragged Simon up.
"Why are you crying? Ivy returned safely, so you should be relieved!"
Simon sobbed as he yanked on Ivy's sleeve. "I thought you were dead... Ivy, you scared the crap out of me."
Windy sobbed, causing Agatha to frown. "Yuck, Windy. Stop trying so hard."
"Shut up!" Windy said as she rolled her eyes and wiped the tears from her cheek.
Knowing what had happened to Ivy caused them to feel both pain and relief.
Everyone was feeling a little emotional, but Simon was the first to cry. "How could you not tell us when you were going to return, Ivy Morgan? We were all convinced that you had died. Everyone's so depressed because of you!" Ivy's nose was a little achy. She apologized and sniffed.
"Please accept my apologies. I was afraid you'd be scared seeing me in that state. I was going to wait until I was completely recovered before telling you guys."
Agatha, who was normally aloof and self-assured, couldn't help but cry at this time.
"It's fine. All that matters is that you've returned! You must be a lucky star to have escaped such a disaster!"
When they asked what Ivy had gone through, she told them the whole story because she had nothing to hide.
All of these thrills and adventures seemed to have occurred in a previous life.
Windy and Agatha sat excitedly listening, but Simon sat at the side in silence, becoming sullener as he listened. Ivy frowned as she nudged Simon with her foot after the story.
"Simon, why didn't you respond to my story?"
Simon hid his face behind his hands and appeared to be lost. His voice was filled with evident chagrin and regret.
"How come I'm not the one who saved you? Why is Wyatt Reed popping up again?"
With this, the room fell silent, and even a pin drop could be heard.
Agatha glared at Simon, then blocked Ivy's view with a smile and changed the subject.
"Vince unexpectedly released this video. That's how we discovered you're still alive. This time, you've gone insanely viral. Reporters from all over the world are looking for you!" Agatha took out her phone and showed her the most popular topics on the internet.
This video had already received millions of views in a short period. The level of focus was far beyond anyone's expectations.
Ivy pursed her lips, but she wasn't surprised because Vince had told her on the island that she might appear in his work if they made it out alive.
"Leave it to my older brother to worry about this. I bought a couple of private planes and intended to learn to fly them!"
Ivy was traumatized and felt it was too risky to rely on another pilot, so she decided to fly the plane herself!
Windy screamed with delight. "OMG! That's fantastic!"
"Calm down, girlie," Agatha said, irritated.
THE ONLINE controversy became increasingly heated over the course of a few days.
The number of views and comments skyrocketed, and this video quickly went viral.
Ivy was almost fully recovered and ready to be discharged from the hospital.
She was recognized as soon as she stepped outside, despite the layers of coverings and disguise she wore.
A swarm of reporters and microphones mobbed Ivy.
"Are all of your experiences true, Ms. Morgan?"
"Do you have anything to say now that you've survived this ordeal, Ms. Morgan?"
"Do you believe the plane crash was an accident?"
"Do you intend to pursue your relationship with Vince Reed?"
With their cameras flashing, a cluster of reporters blocked the hospital's entrance.
The bodyguards surrounded them in a protective circle, shielding Ivy and Sebastian in the center.
The crowd was suffocating, and Sebastian was growing impatient with all the reporters. Sebastian knew that these people would not rest easily after living in the spotlight for so long.
He took Ivy in his arms and strode forward with great strides towards the Lincoln stretch limousine that was parked nearby.
Ivy abruptly came to a halt and raised her head, revealing her stunning eyes.
However, there was a layer of sadness overshadowing her beautiful eyes at this time. It was befuddling.
Everyone fell silent and waited for her to speak.
Ivy's voice was a little hoarse, but she spoke clearly and articulately. "I'm glad everyone is concerned about my safety, but please stop peering at me. Because other passengers on the plane are not as fortunate as I am, and their families will suffer every time they hear such news."
Ivy then bowed solemnly and respectfully. The surrounding voices faded away, and the lively atmosphere sank into a cold silence.
Ivy didn't say anything else after that, so Sebastian grabbed her shoulders and led her to the car. Her reappearance was more than a publicity stunt.
It was also upsetting for some people. After all, Ivy was the sole survivor of the plane crash. Ivy's brief response quickly won everyone's hearts.
Vince even removed his most recent viral video.
(Details reveal a lot about a person's personality. Ivy is a true goddess if she is still thinking of others at this time. She has a huge heart!)
(What a lovely and kind-hearted young lady! I'm dying to marry her! Please, Ivy, make your acting debut!)
(I am a family member of one of the plane crash victims. We're convinced that they're the same as Ms. Morgan, lost somewhere on an adventure and hoping to return one day. We wish you well, Ms. Morgan so that they can live vicariously through you. You are our only hope!) This last comment received the most likes and was promoted to the top of the list.
Ivy got a new phone and noticed that the most liked comment under her response was from one of the families of plane crash victims.
She responded right away. (Whether separated by time, space, or geography, they will return one day. Thank you for your never-ending perseverance.)
Perhaps Ivy's words had an effect, or maybe someone authorized the platform to reduce the discussion on this topic because the situation had finally calmed down.
The journalists were no longer squatting outside the Morgan Building.
For a while, Ivy was at peace.
Her life was back on track, but she was not eager to return to work.
Perhaps Ivy had spent too much energy on her desert island survival adventure, so she now enjoyed eating, drinking, and having fun.
Leo was delighted to see his daughter in such a state. Every day, he would drag Ivy along with him to go fishing. They would go shopping, purchase a yacht, and even watch live-streamed shopping sessions together.
Leo would assist her in throwing a variety of parties and never minded spending money.
Ivy's life had been peaceful and wonderful until she received an unexpected phone call.
She assumed it was a friend who had changed their phone number, so she cheerfully picked it up.
"Hey! Name, please."
For a brief moment, the other party was deafeningly silent.
"Wyatt, Reed."
His enchanting voice was both familiar and deep.
Ivy hung up after hearing his name.
Wyatt's eyes darkened as he looked at the disconnected phone call. His face immediately turned gloomy.
During his time abroad, he had been very busy. He'd been missing her for a long time.
He was concerned about her physical recovery, but even more so about her psychological recovery. He was no longer qualified, however, to be worried about her.
Wyatt had watched Vince's video several times. He felt his chest tighten every time he watched it. He couldn't breathe because he felt suffocated.
People on social media praised her bravery, strength, and good fortune. Only his heart ached for her fear and stoicism.
Wyatt couldn't help but take his driver's phone to call Ivy as soon as he stepped off the plane, but this was the outcome.
