The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge

Chapter 2388

Chapter 2388

Justin sat next to Clarence, maintaining an impassive expression. Yet, inside, he was full of admiration for Clarence's understated brilliance.

For someone like Justin-proud and aloof by nature-few people in the world could earn his respect.

If he could overcome this ordeal and return to the Salvador Corporation unscathed, he swore to personally invite Clarence to become the company's legal advisor. Clarence could name his price.

As expected, after Clarence's relentless questioning, Jack's expression gradually stiffened. He exhaled heavily, his frustration evident.

Jack had been thoroughly outmaneuvered.

"You can summon my client for questioning or even suspect him, but every case must adhere to a fundamental principle of procedural justice."

Clarence's gaze remained steady, exuding the commanding presence of a former high judge.

"However, if you can't produce evidence proving my client consumed drugs, purchased them, or if you fail to find credible witnesses, then the most you can do is detain him for 24 hours."

A junior officer, unwilling to back down, blurted out angrily, "As the head of a large corporation, he could easily obtain this stuff through clandestine means. His trusted subordinates would gladly risk everything for him. They've probably all coordinated their stories by now!"

"Shut up!" Jack snapped, glaring at the officer.

"So, it seems you really don't have any solid evidence. In that case, there's nothing more to discuss," Clarence said with a faint smile.

"If you want to investigate the people around Mr. Salvador, by all means, go ahead. How you conduct the investigation and whether you find anything is your concern, not mine. I'll stay by my client's side for the entirety of the 24-hour detainment.

"If you don't mind, could someone fetch me a cup of coffee? No sugar and milk, please. Thank you."

Jack stormed back to his office, fuming with rage, only to be greeted by more bad news from his subordinates.

The surveillance footage from Justin's office, the one where the 'Crystal Ice' was allegedly found, had been completely erased. No evidence had been captured, and there was no way to recover it.

Now, whether the drugs had been placed there by Justin himself or planted by someone else remained an unsolvable mystery.

Unbeknownst to them, Bella had already made her move, staying one step ahead.

She had immediately contacted Ian, instructing him to erase all surveillance footage from Justin's office. Regardless of whether the footage helped or harmed Justin's case, it had to be wiped out entirely.

The goal was to sever any leads the police might have, ensuring they could not accuse Justin of drug possession. Otherwise, the charges would only escalate.

As Jack grappled with the situation, a junior officer rushed into his office. "Captain Lowe, someone is here to see you!"

"I'm busy! Can't you handle it?" Jack barked without looking up. "If it's not urgent, don't bother me!"

"He said he's a witness. He can prove that Justin used drugs."

Jack's eyes lit up. He shot out of his chair and sprinted toward the hallway.

A middle-aged man stood nervously, clutching a brown envelope with trembling hands.

"You're the witness?" Jack approached, his tone suddenly accommodating.

"Yes..." The man's voice was shaky. "I'm Dr. Wagner, the attending physician who treated Mr. Salvador during his recent hospitalization."

"This is his diagnosis report and blood test results."

Jack took the envelope, opened it, and carefully examined the contents.
