Chapter 34
Elsbeth
The following morning, Elsbeth left the Bloodstones and headed to the only place she could think of that might accept her. At least until she could consider what her next step would be. There was history there and she was counting on using that to her advantage.
"Thaddeus's missteps into the human world continue to haunt us," Amaya communicated to Elsbeth. "We should have killed that little bitch when we had our chance -- when she was an easy kill."
"Yes, well, hindsight is 20/20 for a reason," Elsbeth responded annoyingly. She looked at the rearview to see her old home get smaller by the second. Her former home, she corrected. Now it was that little wolf-whore's home. "Too bad doing it now will only make us look suspicious."
"I want to make that bleeding heart idiot pay," Amaya sneered. "He was just as weak as Thaddeus had been and for the same reasons."
Elsbeth wanted revenge too. She wanted to hit him where it would hurt him the most and she wanted to strike while she was still heated with rage. That bitch was out of reach for now but Braden had a weakness for his whole pack, she knew finding a suitable target was just a matter of time.
Her priority right now was finding shelter.
The closer she got to her destination, the more she raged at the looming degradation she would have to subject herself to because of that bitch-whore and her weak Alpha. Only Moon Goddess knows how he had maintained the Alpha title being as soft as he was.
"The beast within the man is savage." Amaya reminded her. "That's how stronger wolves have perished with their necks between his teeth."
Elsbeth's wheels began to turn. If she played her cards right, maybe once she was settled, she could find a way to have history repeat itself too.
As she neared the land she was begrudgingly hoping to call home, she began to take deep breaths. Last time she was here, she had the luxury of being herself but today was different. She and Amaya had to fight their nature and come across as 'sheep in wolves clothing' in order to be accepted.
She parked her car and waited to be sensed.
"What the hell do you want?" A woman asked behind her.
Elsbeth pasted on a fake smile and turned. "Orphea, darling, long time no see. Is Caspian around? I wanted to have a word with my first mate."
