Yvonne's mind went completely blank; she could hardly believe what she had just heard.

"That's right-I was the one who prepared that bottle of red wine," her boss said.

Upon receiving verbal confirmation, Yvonne was instantly overwhelmed with mixed emotions. She didn't know what to say.

"What? You have a problem with that?"

Upon noticing her boss' tone, Yvonne quickly replied, "No, no! I wouldn't dare! My life is yours, after all. So, of course, I wouldn't have a problem with something like this."

Yvonne had once been left destitute, and it was her boss who had taken her in and given her a second chance at life. As such, she was not exaggerating when she said that.

"Don't overthink it. Felix and I are simply not meant to be, but it's only fair that I give him a little something since he's my fiancé.

"A woman like you will be utterly unattainable to him in the future. When we finally meet one day, he'll know that he should be content."

Yvonne could only take it with a bitter smile. Her boss' intellect could not be rivaled, after

all.

Since everything had been meticulously planned, Yvonne was bound to share that bottle of red wine with Felix sooner or later. It was all just part of her mission. "Continue with your tasks as planned. This incident changes nothing. Understood?"

"I understand, miss. Rest assured-I will complete the mission without fail."

Meanwhile, in a café, Joshua was meeting with Belle.

"Mr. Rush, you said there was an urgent matter concerning me. I hope you have a good reason to summon me. You know the consequences if you don't." Belle had a dark expression because Joshua's tone on the phone earlier made her feel as if she was being blackmailed.

"Please, sit. You're Xena's subordinate-how would I dare do anything to you? You're overthinking."

After Belle sat down, Joshua pulled out a tablet, operated it briefly, and handed it over to her.

"I've arranged for a master healer to treat your father. In addition, I've left him five million. That should be enough to cover for his future living expenses." What? Her father?

Belle furrowed her brows as she looked at the photos, videos, and everything else on the

tablet.

It was true that her father was still alive, but he was a complete scoundrel. Not only did he kill her mother, but he was also abusive toward Belle.

"Who told you to do all that? Did you think I would be grateful for this?"

Joshua merely smiled at her questions.

"At the end of the day, he is the man who gave you life.

"Since Xena knew everything and hated him, you refrained from any actions or communication even after discovering your father was seriously ill and living a tragic life for fear that Xena would find out, right?" Belle fell silent-Joshua was right. Back then, she wished that her father would just die, but as time passed, her heart softened.

He was still her father no matter what. Yet, because of Xena, she didn't dare to reach out, and that tormented her for years.

Now that her father had been cured and had money to live out his remaining days in peace, it felt like a weight had been lifted from her shoulders.

"Go on, then. I know you didn't do this out of the kindness of your heart."

Joshua let out a sigh of relief. Luckily, his judgment was correct, and it seemed like he made the right move.

"It's simple. I want to pursue Xena. You're her deputy-if anyone understands her best, it's you..I need your help."

Now that Belle understood his intentions, she smiled. She had been worried that Joshua would ask her to do something illegal or immoral, which she would never agree to.
