His destined mate

Chapter 20

Bianca's POV

The days after our little rest were remembered by a growing sense of uneasiness. Rumors spread through the palace and also the kingdom, casting a shadow over our every move. The peace we had once known seemed to be slipping away, and being replaced by whispers and accusations that threatened to destroy our world.

One evening, as the sun stopped below the visible edge, I walked through the palace gardens, trying to clear my mind. The once peaceful place now felt heavy with the weight of the kingdom's troubles. The flowers, though still vibrant, seemed to mock the turmoil that surrounded us.

I saw a quiet bench and sat down, feeling the cool breeze against my face. My thoughts were interrupted by Ethan's arrival. He approached me with a concerned look, his expression showing the pressure of the recent events. "Bianca," he said softly, "come, take a seat beside me. "I've been looking for you."

I smiled weakly, trying to cover the worry I felt. "I needed a moment to think. A lot has been going on lately."

Ethan reached out and took my hand, his touch was so warm and reassuring. "I know. It feels like the weight of the world is on our shoulders. But we'll get through this. We have to."

His words were more of a comfort to me, but the current rumors and the accusations against me weighed me down so heavily. I had heard whispers among the palace workers and even from some of the nobles-accusations that state that I was the cause of all the problems in the kingdom. The thought that my appearance in this palace could be blamed for the problems and dangers, was both painful.

"Ethan," I began, my voice trembling gently, "have you heard of the accusations against me? They're saying that all of this is happening because of me that my presence in your life has brought nothing good but problems."

Ethan's face darkened, mixed with bitterness and frustration showing in his eyes. "I've heard the rumors. It's outrageous. They're trying to shift the blame to you, and it is very wrong."

I squeezed his hand, feeling a mixture of relief and anxiety. "It feels like we're the target on all sides. And it is hard not to feel that it is somehow my fault."

Ethan shook his head, his gaze firm and determined. "You have nothing to do with the problems that's been coming up. The kingdom's problems are the result of much larger forces at play. We can not let these accusations weaken us. We need to focus on discovering the truth."

Ethan's POV

As the evening got closer, I felt the weight of the situation pressing down on me. The accusations against Bianca were not just personal-they were a threat to the stability of the entire kingdom. The idea that she could be blamed for the problems so far only added to the pressure I was under already.

After our conversation in the garden, I made up my mind to address the issue directly. I called for an emergency meeting with my most trusted advisors and the important persons in the kingdom. The urgency of the situation called for an immediate action, and I needed toake sure that we were united in our approach, no matter the means.

The meeting took place in the grand hall, a room that had seen many decisions made in the kingdom's history. The room was filled with the murmur of anxious voices as the advisors took their seats. I stood at the head of the table, my posture was very firm and also authoritative.

"Thank you all for coming on such a short notice," I began, my voice echoing through the hall. "As you're all aware, there have been a troubling rumors and accusations going round about Bianca."

The room fell calm, and I could see the tension on the faces of the advisors. But I couldn't mind, I continued, "These accusations are baseless and meant to take away our attention from the real issues we are facing. We must not allow ourselves to be moved by false claims."

One of the advisors, Lord Darian, spoke up, his tone was very uncertain. "Your Majesty, while I understand your concerns, there are also many who believe that Bianca's presence has indeed brought us misfortune. And We must consider the possibility that there might be some truth to these claims."

I felt very angry, but I kept my voice controlled. "There is no truth to these claims. Bianca has been nothing but a source of strength and support for our kingdom. The real threat comes from those who seek to weaken us, and not from her." Another advisor, Lady Elara, nodded in agreement. "We must focus on the larger picture. The recent troubles and mysterious occurrences are signs of a more significant threat. We need to find out who is behind these attacks and what they truly want from us."

I agreed, feeling a renewed sense of determination. "Exactly. We need to investigate further and discover the real cause of these problems. The accusations against Bianca are a distraction meant to weaken our resolve."

The meeting ended just as I wanted, and that is with a sense of purpose. The advisors and key figures left the hall, their faces reflecting a mixture of relief and uncertainty. I knew that the road ahead would be challenging, but I had made up my mind to protect Bianca and our kingdom from the forces that tends to harm us.

Bianca's POV

As the night came over in the palace, I was not able to shake off the feeling of uneasiness. The accusations against me has deepened within me, and the weight of the situation felt heavier on me than ever. Ethan's support was a pillar of strength for me at that moment, but the challenges we faced were far from over.

Inside my chamber, I paced back and forth, trying to clear my mind. That day's event had left me feeling restless and uncertain. I knew that we had to stay focused and strong, but the constant threat of danger and the fear of being blamed for everything was a such a burden.

A gentle knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. I opened it to find Ethan standing there, his face filled with so much concern.

"Bianca," he said softly, stepping into the room. "I thought I should check on you."

And I gave him a weary smile, feeling a surge of relief at his presence. "Thank you. I've been feeling overwhelmed by everything that's happening."

Ethan took my hand and led me to a comfortable seating area by the window. The moonlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow over the room. He sat down beside me, his gaze steady and reassuring.

"We'll get through this," he said, and his voice filled with warmth. "We have to stay strong and not let the accusations get to us. Remember, We're in this together."

I nodded, feeling comforted by his words. "I know. It's just so hard to see everything falling apart around us and not feel responsible."

Ethan gently cupped my face in his hands, his eyes locking onto mine. "You're not responsible for any of this. Okay? The challenges we face are just beyond our control, but we can face them together. And That's what matters."

His touch was warm, and I felt a wave of emotion wash over me. "I'm so grateful to have you by my side, Ethan. I don't know how I would have done without you."

He drew closer, and our lips met in a tender kiss. The moment was filled with a deep sense of connection and love, a brief escape from the problems that surrounds us. As we pulled away, I felt a renewed sense of hope.

As Ethan and I took a warm embraced, a distant, ominous sound echoed through the palace. It was a low, rumbling noise, followed by a series of faint, eerie whispers that seemed to seep through the walls. The room grew colder, and a shiver ran through my spine.

Ethan's expression turned serious as he looked around the room, his senses alert. "What was that?" he asked, his voice tense.

I looked at him, my heart racing with fear. "I don't know, but it doesn't feel right."

The unsettling sounds continued, growing louder and more serious. I could feel a palpable sense of dread settling over us, and I knew that something was wrong.
