His destined mate

Chapter 47: Betrayal

Bianca's POV

Theron glared at me, his eyes cold and calculating. "You think this charade will convince anyone? You're nothing but a puppet, and Ethan is your string-puller."

The nobles shifted uncomfortably, and I could sense the tension building again. "This is not a charade, Theron," I countered, my voice steady. "We are here to protect the kingdom from real threats-your manipulations and collusions included."

Ethan stepped forward, exuding a calm authority. "If we are to survive, we must face the truth together. Theron's alliances with dark forces put us all at risk. We cannot ignore the evidence that links him to Emily's plans."

The murmur of agreement among the nobles grew louder. It was a small victory, but I knew we had to keep the momentum. I gestured to Elara, who presented the documents with clarity. "These records detail meetings and communications with individuals known for their dark practices. They indicate a clear intention to destabilize our court."

Theron's facade began to crack. "These are nothing but forgeries! You cannot trust them!" he shouted, his voice rising in desperation.

I took a step closer, meeting his gaze with unwavering resolve. "You underestimate the loyalty of those in this room. They will choose the truth over your deceit."

Ethan's POV

I felt the shift in the air. Doubt lingered in the hearts of the nobles, and it was time to seize this moment. "We must act now," I declared, my voice echoing through the hall. "Let us investigate Theron's connections thoroughly. We cannot afford to let fear dictate our choices any longer."

"Agreed," one of the older nobles spoke up. "If there is any truth to these claims, we must ensure our safety."

I glanced at Bianca, who nodded, her determination palpable. Together, we had brought the council to a critical juncture. "Let us form a committee to delve deeper into these allegations. We owe it to the kingdom to seek the truth." The assembly began to buzz with agreement. Theron's confidence had waned, and I sensed that we were winning the hearts of the council.

Bianca's POV

As the nobles debated the formation of the committee, I felt a rush of hope. "This is our chance," I whispered to Ethan. "If we can gather more evidence, we can expose him for good."

Ethan nodded, his eyes focused on the council. "We need to be strategic. Theron will likely try to deflect or create distractions."

Just then, Theron interrupted, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You're all so eager to believe in a fairy tale. What will you do when the real monsters come knocking?"

"Monsters like you?" I shot back, unwilling to back down. "The only danger here is your betrayal, which we will root out."

As the meeting concluded, I felt a wave of adrenaline. We had a foothold, but the battle was far from over.

Ethan's POV

The council voted to form the committee, and I breathed a sigh of relief. We had gained the upper hand, but I knew Theron wouldn't let this go easily. His desperation would make him unpredictable. Later that evening, I met with Bianca and Elara in the war room. "What's our next move?" I asked, my voice low. "We need to gather whatever evidence we can before Theron strikes back."

Elara flipped through her notes, her brow furrowed in concentration. "We should investigate the Northern Territories further. If we can identify key players in his network, we may be able to expose him completely." "Agreed," Bianca said, her eyes lighting up with resolve. "Let's split our efforts. I can use my magic to gather intel discreetly, while Ethan, you can work with Elara on securing more evidence."

As we laid out our plan, I felt a renewed sense of purpose. The stakes had never been higher, but we were ready to face the challenge together.

Bianca's POV

The following days were a whirlwind of activity. I delved into my magic, focusing on divination spells to uncover hidden truths. With Ethan and Elara working diligently, we felt the pieces slowly coming together.

One evening, as I sat in a quiet corner of the castle, I closed my eyes, channeling my energy. Images began to form a web of connections that tied Theron to dark figures in the North. My heart raced as I saw flashes of meetings, whispered conversations, and shadowy figures cloaked in darkness.

I opened my eyes, determination flooding my veins. "Ethan, Elara!" I called out, gathering their attention. "I've seen something. Theron's ties are deeper than we thought. There's a gathering scheduled soon-a meeting with those who practice dark magic."

Ethan's eyes widened. "When is it? We need to be there."

"Tomorrow night," I replied, urgency in my voice. "We must act quickly to gather evidence."

Elara scribbled notes furiously. "If we can catch him in the act, it will be undeniable proof of his treachery."

Ethan nodded, his expression fierce. "Then we prepare. We'll need to be careful; Theron will have his defenses up."

Ethan's POV

The next night, we made our way to the outskirts of the city where the meeting was set to take place. I could feel the weight of the moment pressing down on us. This was our chance to finally expose Theron and protect the kingdom.

As we approached the meeting location, I signaled for Bianca and Elara to stay hidden while I scouted ahead. The air was thick with tension, and I could hear murmurs of conversation drifting from a nearby grove. Peering through the trees, I spotted Theron among a group of hooded figures, their postures rigid with anticipation. My heart raced as I listened in.

"We cannot allow them to interfere," Theron spoke, his voice low but clear. "Ethan and Bianca's influence must be eradicated if we are to achieve our goals."

I exchanged a glance with Bianca, who was crouched beside me. The urgency in her eyes mirrored my own. We had to gather evidence now. Bianca's POV

Ethan motioned for us to stay quiet, and I held my breath as I strained to hear more. Theron was revealing his true intentions, and we needed to record this.

I focused, summoning my magic to enhance my hearing. The voices grew clearer, and I caught snippets of their conversation. "The council will never accept her. We must act before they realize the truth."

My heart pounded. This was our moment. I nudged Ethan, who nodded, ready to move in. We slipped through the shadows, careful not to make a sound. Ethan's POV

As we approached, I signaled for Bianca to be ready. We needed to confront Theron and catch him off guard.

"Now," I whispered, and we burst into the clearing.

Theron's head snapped up, surprise etched across his face. "Ethan! Bianca! What are you doing here?"

I stepped forward, anger fueling my resolve. "We're here to put an end to your schemes, Theron. You've been manipulating the council for too long."

The hooded figures shifted uneasily, and I could see Theron's confidence wavering. "You're too late," he sneered. "The council will choose me, not you."

I raised my chin, refusing to back down. "They will choose truth over your lies. We have evidence of your treachery."

The figures began to murmur, uncertainty creeping into their ranks. I could sense that Theron's hold over them was faltering.

Bianca's POV

"Your time is up, Theron," I declared, stepping beside Ethan. "You've been playing a dangerous game, and it ends now."

His expression twisted into rage, but I stood firm. "We have everything we need to expose you. You've underestimated our resolve."

Before he could respond, I reached into my bag, pulling out a small crystal. With a swift motion, I activated it, projecting the images I had seen during my divination.

The grove lit up with scenes of Theron's meetings, his dark alliances laid bare for all to see.

Gasps echoed through the gathered figures. The truth was out, and there was no denying it.

Ethan's POV

As the images faded, I saw Theron's face pale. "You think this will scare me?" he spat, but the tremor in his voice betrayed him.

I stepped closer. "You can't manipulate the truth. Your schemes are exposed, and the council will see you for what you truly are."

The hooded figures hesitated, glancing at one another. Doubt was creeping into their ranks, and I felt a surge of hope.

"Join us, or continue to follow a traitor," Bianca urged, her voice strong. "The choice is yours."

Theron, cornered and desperate, raised his hands. "You're making a mistake! You have no idea what you're facing!"

Bianca's POV

"We know exactly what we're facing," I replied, my voice unwavering. "And we won't back down. You're the real threat to our kingdom."

The figures exchanged worried glances, and I could sense their resolve shifting. Theron was losing control.

"Stand down, Theron," Ethan commanded, his presence formidable. "Or face the consequences of your actions."

In that moment, the air crackled with tension. The council was beginning to turn, and I knew we had to act fast. "Enough!" Theron shouted, his facade
