Not His Type Of Mate

Chapter 110

Nora's

POV

"It's been hours, and she hasn't even moved her body." I heard the faint voice of Lord Maddison from a distance, causing me to slowly open my eyes. The first thing that came into sight was the ceiling.

Slowly, I shifted my gaze sideways and saw Lord Maddison's back while he was talking to a lady. "I've used my healing abilities, but there is nothing wrong with her. So, why isn't she awake yet?" I heard his worried tone, which made me realize I was no longer captured but rather in Lord Maddison's apartment.

With a gulp, I called out to get his attention. "Lord Maddison," I called out, and he swiftly turned to me, his eyes full of surprise and relief.

"You're awake," he exclaimed in relief and made his way towards me. He sat on the bed and held my gaze for a moment before placing a long kiss on my forehead and then pulling away.

"I'm sorry for putting you through this," he apologized sincerely, while I weakly smiled and pondered in thoughts.

The last thing I could remember was arguing with Lorenzo and getting him angry, and then he hit me, causing me to lose consciousness.

"Are you okay?" Lord Maddison asked, and I nodded, slowly sitting on the bed while he helped me and placed a pillow behind my back.

"Are you hungry? Do you feel hurt anywhere?" He asked, but I shook my head. I didn't feel any discomfort or pain in my body, but I was curious about how they managed to rescue me.

"How were you and Alpha Leo able to rescue me?" I asked and then realized that Alpha Leo wasn't in the room. "Where is Alpha Leo? Has he gone back to the mansion?" Perhaps he had gone to rest or change his clothes.

I noticed Lord Maddison remained silent for a moment before taking a deep breath and speaking up. "Alpha Leo isn't here. He's in Singapore. He left about a day after you were kidnapped," he announced, and I furrowed my brow, not fully understanding what he meant.

"What are you saying?" I asked, confused, and Lord Maddison shot me a stare before looking away. I noticed he went silent for a moment before finally speaking.

"Leo didn't help in rescuing you. He was busy with a business deal in Singapore," he said.

My heart sank as Lord Maddison's words registered in my mind. Alpha Leo, the man I had trusted with my life, had not been involved in rescuing me. The realization hit me like a punch to the gut, leaving me feeling betrayed and abandoned.

"Why? Why would he leave when I needed him the most?" I asked, my voice trembling with a mix of anger and hurt. Lord Maddison sighed heavily, avoiding my gaze.

"He claimed it was an important business deal that he couldn't postpone. He left it to me to handle your rescue," Lord Maddison explained, his voice tinged with bitterness. "I was furious with him, Nora. I couldn't understand how he could prioritize business over your safety."

Tears welled up in my eyes as a wave of emotions washed over me. Alpha Leo had always professed his love and vowed to protect me. But now, it seemed like he had abandoned me when I needed him the most.

"I trusted him, Lord Maddison. I thought he would do anything to protect me," I whispered, my voice cracking. Lord Maddison reached out and gently took my hand in his, offering me comfort.

"I know, Nora. But I'm here, right? I've brought you back home. You are safe, and that's all that matters," he said, and I nodded with a weak smile.

It's funny that while I was captured, I thought of Alpha Leo and how he must be doing everything to rescue me. But now, it seems I was wrong. Alpha Leo doesn't want anything to do with me anymore.

Taking a deep breath, I looked at Lord Maddison, who had been quietly waiting for me to speak, and then I asked more questions.

"How did you rescue me? Because it seems he knew you guys were coming, so he took me away and imprisoned me in the camp of the rogues," I said, and Lord Maddison responded.

"I sought the help of a girl. She also has the ability to teleport to places. She helped me and my men get to you, rescue you, and kill Lorenzo."

"He is dead?" I asked with wild eyes. "Yes, he is dead and gone, Nora," he said and touched my cheek. "I'm sorry that you have to go through such a horrifying experience because of me. I'm sorry, Nora."

A tear of relief fell on my cheek as I realized he was indeed dead and wouldn't come for me anymore, which means I would never see him again, and it was all thanks to Lord Maddison.

"Thank you. Thank you for coming for me," I said, and he smiled and pulled me into his arms while I rested my head on his chest. "You are my mate, and I will do anything for you. Besides..." he trailed off and slowly pulled me away.

"There is something I have to tell you, but promise me you won't freak out," he pleaded while holding my gaze. I could see fear and concern etched on his face.

"What is it, Maddison? You can tell me," I said, and I saw him go silent for a moment, contemplating how he should tell me.

"Just tell me what it is," I urged, and he nodded and held my hands before taking a deep breath. "Nora!" he called out, and I nodded, urging him to go on. "You are pregnant," he said, causing me to furrow my brow.

"Preg... pregnant?" I stammered, and he nodded. "The test done on you confirmed it," he said, while my heart skipped a beat as a rush of emotions filled my entire being.

"I'm pregnant," I said, and Lord Madison nodded. "Yes, Nora, we are going to be parents," Lord Madison spoke with a satisfied smile and held my gaze, waiting for my reaction to the news.

I sat there, stunned by the news. Pregnant. The word echoed in my mind, and I could feel a mix of emotions swirling within me. Surprise, joy, and fear all intermingled, creating a whirlwind of thoughts and feelings.

"I... I'm going to be a mother," I finally managed to say, my voice barely above a whisper. Lord Maddison nodded, his eyes filled with affection and anticipation.

"Yes, Nora. We're going to have a child," he replied softly, his hand gently caressing my cheek. "I know this might be overwhelming, but I want you to know that I'll be here for you every step of the way. We'll face this together."

Tears welled up in my eyes, this time not from sadness or despair, but from the overwhelming rush of emotions. I had thought my life would be consumed by darkness and pain, but now there was a glimmer of hope, a new beginning growing inside me. "I... I never expected this," I murmured, my hand instinctively resting on my abdomen.

Lord Madison smiled warmly, his eyes shimmering with affection. He leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss on my forehead, his touch offering reassurance and support.

"You've been through so much, Nora, and I promise you that I'll protect you and our child with everything I have," he vowed, his voice filled with determination.

I smiled at him and saw him gulp nervously before going down on his knees. I stared at him with a confused brow and watched him pull out a box from his jacket, which made me gasp as he opened the small box and revealed a ring. "Nora," he began, "I have been eagerly and anxiously waiting for you to wake up, so I could do this," he said, and I gulped.

"I love you so much, Nora. I didn't know then, but I knew I fell in love with you at the club when you drunkenly talked to me. Nora, I have grown to love you, and now I want to love you more, care for you more, and make a family with you, Nora. I know this is a difficult thing I'm asking you to do, but will you marry me?" he asked, his voice filled with nervousness.

Tears of joy streamed down my face as I looked into Lord Madison's eyes. Who would have thought that one day the lord of the hybrids would be kneeling on his feet, asking me to marry him? But then my thoughts drifted to someone. Leo.

"Leo is the past, and Maddison is the future," Lolita said, and I nodded. But just as I was about to say a word, a knock came on the door, interrupting the moment.

"Yes?" Lord Madison answered with anger.

"Apologies, my lord..." That was the voice of Luis. "Alpha Leo is here," he announced, causing my heart to skip a beat.
