Chapter 111
Alpha Leo's POV
"You can come in, Alpha," Luiz said, and I nodded, standing to my feet as I took the stairs to the room. I could hear Ethan's disapproving growl at what I was about to do, but I knew it would be the best for her. "What about you? What about your feelings for her? Do you think you'll be able to live without her? She's our fucking mate, for goddess's sake," Ethan growled. He was right with every word, but I chose to ignore him.
I sucked in a deep breath, composing myself for what I was about to do, and then pushed the door open. I stepped in and closed the door behind me, turning to see Nora seated on the bed, her enchanting sea-blue eyes locked onto mine. It was a bittersweet sight, knowing that this might be the last time we would see each other like this. But I had made up my mind, and I knew it was the right decision.
I walked further into the room and noticed Maddison standing at the window, staring at Nora.
"Don't do it," Ethan pleaded, but I chose to ignore him again.
"How are you doing, Nora? I just came back from Singapore and decided to come check on you when I heard you were back," I said calmly and reluctantly.
Nora held my gaze for a long period of time, searching for the right words to say, and finally, she spoke. "Were you aware that I was kidnapped?" She asked, and I sucked in a deep breath and nodded. "Yes, but I was aware, and..."
"You could have helped!" She cut in. "You could have helped a lot with your connections and abilities, Alpha Leo. They even got someone that could teleport. You could have helped if you wanted to, but you chose not to..."
"Yes, I didn't want to help. In fact, I chose not to help!" I yelled back, totally ignoring the ache in my heart. "You chose Maddison over me. Just a day that you thought I was dead, you rushed into his arms and let him mark you. He is your rightful mate and should be able to save you."I spat.
"What!" Nora said, tears clouding her eyes.
I could see the pain and confusion in her expression, but I couldn't let it deter me from my decision. I needed to stick to my plan.
"Nora," I continued, my voice filled with a mix of anger and hurt, "when you thought I was gone, you rushed into his arms, letting him mark you as his mate and mated with him. How could you move on so quickly?"
Nora's face contorted with anguish, and she struggled to find her voice amidst her tears. "Leo, I... I thought you were dead. I thought I had lost you forever. I couldn't bear the pain, and Maddison... He helped me through it. I didn't know you were still alive," she yelled, and I scoffed.
"Stop this act, Nora. You still haven't forgiven me for what happened, and you will never forgive me, Nora. You were just enjoying the attention you were getting from both of us," I accused, and this time I saw her flare with anger.
"Really?" She asked as she got down from the bed and slowly approached me. "You think I was just enjoying all this?" She asked, and I looked away, searching for the right words to use to end this. It was getting out of control, and I didn't know how long I could keep up with this act.
"Maybe Maddison is right. I never loved you. Maybe I just didn't want Maddison to get you," I tried to speak, and she cut me off."
"Well, he has me now!" she said, and I took a deep breath.
Of course, he has her now.
I looked into Nora's tear-filled eyes, my heart breaking at the sight. Deep down, I knew my words were hurting her, but I had to stay strong and push forward with my plan. I couldn't let my emotions get the best of me.
"I'm pregnant with Maddison's baby," she said, and I clenched my fists, struggling to hold back my own tears.
"Wow, congratulations. I was expecting to hear this, but not so soon," I said, and saw her frown deepen. "And we are getting married!" She added.
