Not His Type Of Mate

Chapter 130

Nora's POV

After hearing his reply, I thought I would be elated and feel relieved that he had moved on, but surprisingly, I felt sad. I hated him for moving on so quickly, and I felt bad, thinking he did not love me as much as I thought he did. "What are you doing, Nora? This is absurd. Why would you feel bad that he doesn't love you anymore when you should be excited that there is no more complication in your life anymore? Him moving on will positively affect your relationship with Maddison, and you know it," Lolita scolded me, and I sighed because I knew she was right. It was a great thing that he had moved on, but why do I feel so sad? It seemed Alpha Leo noticed my change of mood as he moved closer to me and frowned. "Is everything okay, Nora? You don't look fine. What's wrong?" He asked, and I looked away. How could I tell him I was feeling sad because of what he said? "I'm fine," I lied through my teeth, and he didn't believe it either, but he decided to forget about it and returned to his seat. Seeing that he no longer minded me, I turned my gaze to him and started staring at him. He looked more handsome than the last time I saw him. His blonde hair shone brighter, and his chest seemed broader. He looked more defined than ever, and it seemed he had been hitting the gym more these past weeks. He was candy to my eyes, and I wanted to keep staring at him, but he seemed to have noticed my gaze as he turned to look at me, and I looked away awkwardly.

Silence fell in the room for some seconds before he cleared his throat. "What would you like to be served?" He asked, and I thought about it for a while before I shook my head. If there was anything, then I should leave his place as soon as possible because I was losing my mind already.

"I don't want anything," I replied. "Why don't you want to take anything?" He asked, and I could see the curiosity in his eyes, which made me swallow. I stood up from my seat and picked up my bag. "I feel filled already. I should be on my way. It's getting too late," I said, and I saw him check his time, which I did too because I had no idea what the time was. I only blurted out on impulse. "It's 8:28 PM," I mumbled out loud, and he nodded. "Bye then," I said and turned to leave, but he held my hand and stood up. "Why don't you stay for the night, Nora? It's too late already, and you are pregnant," he suggested, but I shook my head. There was no way I would sleep in his Mansion when my mind was so messed up. I shook my head again and looked at him. "I don't think I should. Dora will be waiting for me at home, and she will become worried if I don't get home in time." Not thinking about the right excuse, I blurted out whatever came to my mind and hoped it would work. But, I was wrong.

Alpha Leo shook his head and moved closer to me. "I will talk to Dora myself and let her know you are here. She knows you are pregnant too, and she knows how dangerous it is for you to walk the night alone without anyone to protect you. I'm not saying you're weak, I'm just saying the night is dangerous," he persuaded, and I cried inwardly. What do I do? Hearing him say so much made it clear to me that there was no longer room for a NO if there was no reasonable excuse, and I had none. I sighed and nodded. "Okay then. I will trouble you for the night, then," I said, and he smiled. "No problem. I will ask the maids to prepare a room for you. Wait here for me," he said and left the room while I waited for him.

Different thoughts went through my mind as I sat there waiting for him. I thought about Maddison, whom I hadn't seen for the day, and also about Alpha Leo and my feelings toward him. I thought I had forgotten him, and I had finally loved Maddison alone, but being in the same study with him today made me realize some things that confused me.

The door opened, and Alpha Leo entered. It hadn't even been five minutes since he left yet, but the look in his eyes was that of someone who had just fulfilled a major task, and it amused me. He walked toward me. "The room is ready. Come with me," he said, and I nodded as I walked after him, and we went to the room together.

On getting to the room, I realized it was a very beautiful room with a lot of expensive furniture, but what caught my eye the most were the pictures on the table. I decided not to touch them yet as I turned to face Alpha Leo. "Is this the room I will be sleeping in for tonight?" I asked. "Yes. Or, is it not to your liking? I can tell the maids to prepare another room for you, okay? Just let me know if you are okay with it or not," he said to me, and I frowned. "Why won't I like such a room? It's totally to my taste," I joked, and we both chuckled as I walked toward the bed and sat on it.

"I should leave you alone so you can rest. Everything you might need is in here, but if there is anything you can't find, you can talk to the maids or call me. I will always come to your service," he assured me, and I bowed my head a little, which made him frown. "I don't want that," he said, and I chuckled. "Alright," I replied.

He left the room and was about to close the door when he came back and slapped his forehead. "Bad me. I've forgotten that you haven't been served anything. What do you want to eat?" He asked me, but no matter how hard I thought about it, nothing was coming to my mind. I wasn't hungry at all, but because of the baby in me, I knew I had to eat something. "I'm not hungry for now, but I might call on the maids later when I need something," I told him, and he understood. He waved his hand at me before leaving the room, and I closed the door.

I entered the bathroom, took a quick bath, and returned to the room, only to remember that I didn't come with any of my nighties. Not even spare clothes! I grabbed my head and groaned. How could I sleep naked in a Leo's house? There was no way I could sleep naked, and there was no way I could feel comfortable sleeping in normal clothes either. Not knowing what to do, I sat in bed and started thinking of what to do when I heard a knock on the door. "Come in," I said as I already knew it wasn't Alpha Leo. The door opened, and a maid entered with two bags in hand. "Madam," she said as she bowed her head. "What's that?" I asked, and she raised her head a little. "My lord asked me to give this to you. He said you will need them," she explained, and I was confused. I had no idea what he meant by what I might need. I collected the bags from the maid and opened them. "Oh, my!" I exclaimed as I saw a nightgown and a long expensive red gown in the second bag. "He sure knows what I need," I said, and I saw the maid smile before I returned my attention to the bags. I picked out the nightgown. "You can leave now. I can take care of myself," I told the maid who immediately bowed and left the room.

I wore the nightgown, and it was a perfect fit. I wondered how he knew I would need things like this, but I wasn't surprised because I've always known that he was a considerate person, and a wise one at that. I checked myself over and over in the mirror before I connected to him through the mind link and expressed my appreciation.

I walked back to my bed and sat in it. I was already thinking about sleeping when I heard another knock at the door. "Come in," I said again, and the door opened, revealing Lady Christabel, who walked over to me. I stood up from my bed and bowed, but she quickly stopped me. "You are now a wife of a lord. You shouldn't be bowing like this, and you are pregnant too," she scolded me, and I smiled. "My apologies. I've gotten used to my old lifestyle," I replied, and we both giggled.

I noticed Lady Christabel's gaze on me, and I knew what she was thinking about. I sat upright and faced her. "I came to apologize to Alpha Leo about a disagreement we had a few months ago before my marriage," I explained, and she nodded.

"You don't need to explain, my dear. You are always welcome here. Have you forgotten that Maddison is also my son? And you have the right to come here anytime you want," she asked, and I smiled.

"So, how has Alpha Leo been doing for the past few months?" I asked, and her smile died down a little. "Well... He's been doing well. You know he is strong," she replied, and I sighed in relief. I was about to say something when she beat me to it. "Is anything wrong? You don't look very fine," she complained, and I wanted to tell her I was fine.

I wanted to lie to her, but I couldn't. I needed a woman that I can speak with, and she was the right person for that. I shook my head. "It's Maddison. He feels like I don't love him enough, and we've been having misunderstandings for days now," I explained, and she let out a deep breath. "And you, do you think you love him enough?" She questioned.
