Not His Type Of Mate

Chapter 131

Nora's POV

I was surprised when I heard the question Lady Christabel asked me, and for a moment, I fell into deep thought. Do I love Maddison enough? It was a question I had asked myself many times, and there were times I even compared him to Alpha Leo. Every time I did that, I would always choose him. Madison had become a part of me I couldn't live without, and that was when I knew I had loved him too much already.

"I love him. I love Maddison so much that I can't live without him," I replied, blurting out exactly what I felt at the moment and what I'd been feeling since the day Maddison asked for a divorce. It took me too long to realize how much I loved him, but after knowing it, I couldn't stop myself anymore.

Lady Christabel nodded her head and smiled. "That's great then. What you should do now is prove to him how much you love him. I'm sure you understand why Maddison is feeling insecure about you. It's not his fault, and you know that, right?" She asked me, and I nodded. I knew the reason he was being that way, and it was my fault for not showing him how much I loved him earlier before it got to that point. "He had been hurt before, and if not for the fact that he is strong, he might not even fall in love ever again. But because he is strong, he needs someone who will love him too and make him realize he hadn't made a mistake the second time. You should try to prove to him how much you love him while you also make sure to be very patient with him, okay?" She said, and I lowered my head. She patted my shoulder. "Take it easy and wait for him. Everything will be fine soon enough." She added, and I sighed. I felt like crying again, but I stopped myself and revealed a weak smile. "Thank you very much. I will take your advice to heart and follow it," I said to her, and she smiled sweetly at me. "I should give you some space now so you can rest for the night. Bye." She concluded and turned to leave. I stood up and walked her to the door before closing it, and then I returned to my bed. Numerous thoughts were running through my mind, but I was exhausted. I slept earlier than I imagined, and I didn't wake up throughout the night at all.

I opened my eyes the next morning and yawned. It was a nice bed that gave me a good night's sleep, but I wished I hadn't woken up yet because the moment I opened my eyes, the thought of Maddison entered my mind again, and I missed him so much. I dragged myself up from the bed and walked toward the bathroom. I took a long bath before returning to the room, and I put on the gown which accentuated my body properly.

"I look good, right?" I asked Lolita playfully as I checked myself in the mirror. "Yes. Physically, you look beautiful, but inwardly, you're a big mess," Lolita replied, and I pouted. She wasn't helping matters at all, but for some reason, her reply made me chuckle, and I moved away from the mirror.

I packed my belongings, the clothes I wore yesterday, and the nightgown I wore last night, and kept them in a bag before I carried my bag and left the room. I went straight to Alpha Leo's study where I found him working on his laptop, and I walked over. "Good Morning, Alpha Leo," I greeted, and he raised his head to look at me. He looked like he just woke up as his hair was a little messy, but it only added to his beauty. He looked so handsome and brighter than the morning light. I smiled a little and bowed. "Did you sleep well?" I asked, and he stood up. He walked over to me and hugged me lightly. "Hope you slept well too?" He asked, and I nodded. "Thanks to the soft and nice bed. I was able to sleep very well. I didn't even wake up throughout the night," I explained, and he chuckled.

"I'm glad you are okay with the room," he said, and I nodded. He looked pleased. "Did you eat something later last night?" He questioned, and my eyes widened. I had totally forgotten about food last night, even though I had promised him that I would eat. I laughed awkwardly and lowered my head a little before shaking my head. "I didn't. I forgot. I wasn't feeling hungry at all. So, I just slept," I explained to him, and he frowned.

"You're pregnant, Nora. You were supposed to eat something before sleeping. If not for anything, but for the baby. Don't you know?" He asked, and he looked worried. It was like he was the one carrying the baby in his belly and they were crying to him. That was exactly how to describe his expression at that moment, and he made me want to laugh, but I held myself and hung my head. "I will make sure it doesn't happen again," I replied to him, and he fixed his eyes on me for a few seconds longer before he sighed and moved away. He walked back to his seat and sat down.

"What's your plan for the day?" He asked, and I walked to a seat to sit down too. "Nothing. I will be leaving now because I have something to do later in the day," I said to him, and his eyes twitched. He looked at me and sighed. "Okay. When will that be? I mean, when will you leave?" He asked. "Right now," I replied, wondering whether he didn't hear me earlier or he just wanted to ask again to be sure. "Have you eaten?" He asked, and I shook my head. "I will get something to eat later. I'm not hungry right now," I replied him, but he shook his head and stood up. "The cook is done cooking. Let's go eat before you leave," he said, and I furrowed my brows. I wasn't feeling hungry at all, and I didn't want to force myself to eat.

I stood up to decline his offer, but the look he gave me made me realize he wouldn't take no for an answer, and grudgingly, I said yes and followed him. We both found our way to the dining room, and as he said, the table had been served. "It's your favorite," he said, and my eyes widened. I opened the lid, and the aroma of the food alone already sweetened my heart. My stomach groaned, indicating how hungry I was, and I immediately looked up. My eyes met his, and we both chuckled. My stomach must have been seduced by the sweet aroma of the food, and it was a bit embarrassing as I was the one who said I wasn't hungry a few minutes ago, and my stomach groaned the next minute.

I pulled a seat and sat down. "Thanks for this," I appreciated him and started eating the food. I munched on the food and soon, I was done eating. I relaxed my back on the seat and closed my eyes. After eating, I felt a little tired, and I wanted to sleep again. "Where are you planning to go now? Are you going back today?" Alpha Leo asked me, and I opened my eyes. I turned to look at him and shook my head. "I won't be leaving today. I will be staying in the pack for the rest of the week, and I will leave on Monday. I will make sure to visit you before leaving, though," I replied, and he frowned. "In the Pack? Why not stay here instead?" He asked me, and I knew from his tone that he wanted me to stay, but I couldn't. It would be wrong to stay in his mansion for more days when I was already married to someone else. I shook my head. "I want to take a look at the pack. It's been a while, and I missed everywhere already. I will stay in Maddison's apartment in the pack and will come see you before leaving, don't worry about me at all," I replied, and he stared at me for a while before he sighed and nodded. "Okay then. Just be careful," he said, and I nodded before standing up. "I should leave now," I said, and he no longer persuaded me to stay.

He walked me outside his mansion, and he ordered a driver to take me to my destination. "Thanks for the hospitality. I will call you later," I said to him before entering the car, and we drove out. "Take me to Lord Maddison's apartment, please," I told the driver, who immediately turned around and drove to my destination.

We got to the apartment, and I saw a car parked in front of the mansion. It was a car owned by Maddison which he only uses when he's around, but what would he be doing here? I stepped down from the car and walked toward the house. I was about to open the door when I realized it was already opened, and I entered.

Entering the sitting room, I saw Madison sitting on a couch with wine in hand while he crossed his legs. I was surprised, and I stood there staring at him for a while before I put up the courage to walk close to him, and I revealed a smile. "You're here?" I asked, but he gave no response. He continued swirling his cup in his hand as he raised his head and looked at me. "Did you sleep in Leo's place?" He asked, and I swallowed. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you about coming here. I was in haste, and..." I was still explaining when he stood up. "Stop! I asked a question, and I expect a Yes or No answer!" He yelled, and I flinched. I lowered my eyes. "Yes," I replied, and a loud sound resounded in the room as Maddison slammed the cup of wine on the floor!
