Not His Type Of Mate

Chapter 134

Alpha Leo's POV

I walked down the stairs when I sensed Nora's presence, and a smile appeared on my face as I heard her ask about me from the men. "I'm here," I replied to her, and she looked up, but the look in her eyes was worrying. I hurried my steps and reached her side. "Nora..." I called as I scrutinized her from head to toe and realized she was wearing a hospital gown. Not only that, she looked so pale and sick that it seemed like she could faint any moment.

I held her hand and asked again, "Nora, are you okay?" She shook her head as tears rolled down her eyes, and she raised her hand to wipe them, but she was shivering. What's going on? "I'm sorry," I whispered before sweeping her off her feet, carrying her to my room.

I sat her on the bed and stood in front of her. "What happened, Nora?" I asked with concern in my voice and on my face. She raised her head to look at my face, tears still falling. She tried to speak, but nothing came out, and her lips trembled. She was sad, in a lot of pain.

Realizing she couldn't say anything, I walked toward the refrigerator and picked out a bottle of water and a cup, then returned to her. "You should drink some water and calm down," I advised her, and she nodded, taking the cup from me. But, her hands were trembling so much that the cup nearly dropped from her grasp, so I took it back from her.

I helped her pour the water into the glass and guided it to her mouth. She opened her mouth and drank it before mouthing some words I couldn't make out. I sat beside her, waiting for her to calm down so she could talk, as I could tell she was traumatized. "She is not okay. She is very sad and in a lot of pain," Ethan said to me, and I nodded. "I know. I can feel it too," I replied as I continued staring at her, hoping she would be able to talk to me soon enough.

"I lost my baby... The baby is gone," she muttered, tears rolling down her face, and she revealed a sad smile that made my heart ache. I gasped when I heard what she said, but I wasn't very surprised because the thought of her losing her pregnancy had already crossed my mind the moment I saw her in a hospital gown and looking so sad. I wasn't very surprised, but I was pained. I found it hard to say anything for a while as I just continued staring at her. "How come? How did it happen?" I asked her with a worried-filled face.

Her face fell, and she sucked in a deep breath. I thought she was going to start crying again, but the next moment, her sad expression turned to that of anger, and her face darkened. "Maddison... Maddison killed our baby because of his insecurity!" She yelled as she hit the bed with a clenched fist. She was pissed, but tears still fell from her eyes.

My eyes widened, and my blood boiled. I stood up from the bed, walked toward the wall, and hit it harshly. "No! No!!" I yelled as anger surged through me. I was seething with anger as I watched Nora cry her eyes out in my bed. I hated Maddison... I hated him so much that I wanted to punch him in the face at that moment for making Nora so sad and causing her so much pain. "How could he do that? He was supposed to act mature. How could he hurt you this much?" I questioned and grunted. I was angry, but I knew I had to compose myself for her.

I had to calm down for her sake and walked back to her. "You need to calm down, please," I tried persuading her, and fortunately, she stopped and wiped off her tears. "What do you plan to do now?" I asked, and she sighed. "Nothing much. I plan to leave everything behind and move on. I'm going to end everything with Maddison and move on with my life," she said to me, and my heart sank, but I knew it was the best decision. Her moving on was the best move at the moment, and I wasn't planning to advise her against that. I nodded my head and stood up. "You should rest here for the night. It's too late already," I said to her and was about to leave when she stopped me. "I came here for something else," she said, and I frowned, turning back to face her. "What's that?" I asked, seeing that she was serious. I had been wondering why she came to me at her lowest, but realizing she had something to say made me sad yet scared. "What do you plan to do? Did you want anything? Just say it, and I will do anything for you," I said to her, as I noticed she wasn't replying and only had her head a bit lower.

She raised her head and looked at me. "I want you to reject me, Alpha Leo," she blurted, and my heart raced. "Reject you? Why... Why would you want that?" I asked, hoping she would change her mind and tell me it was because she was too angry at the moment. But her eyes didn't waver at all as she continued. "I will reject Maddison, and I want you to reject me too," she said, and I understood her point immediately. This was what she meant when she said she'd put everything behind and move on?

"But won't that be too much for you? You just experienced something terrible. Will you be able to go through the pain of rejection right now?" Although I understood her point, I didn't think it was the right time to do such a thing, as the pain might be too unbearable for her. She was looking miserable before; how would she be able to endure rejection at this moment? She sighed and smiled bitterly. "What pain can be more than the pain of losing a baby? I don't think that pain exists. Right now, I can survive any pain, and I want the rejection done immediately," she explained, and I sighed. I felt pained, and my heart ached for her.

I moved closer to her. "Stand up," I said to her, and she nodded as she stood on her feet and faced me. "You should go first. That way, I would feel the pain too, and it won't be too much for you to bear," I suggested, and she agreed after some persuasion. "I will start now," she announced, and I nodded.

"I, Nora Edwin Watt, reject you, Alpha Leonard Luciano, as my mate, due to mutual agreement," she said, and I sucked a deep breath before saying. "I accept your rejection." and at that moment, I felt my bones crack and my body organs freeze together. A harsh pull hit my chest and my chest felt like it was going to break open, and sweat formed on my forehead immediately. I endured the pain while clenching my teeth, trying not to groan at all. The pain went on for a while before it subsided, and I sighed in relief. "Are you okay?" She asked me, and I nodded.

"I'm okay now," I assured her, and she nodded. "I'm starting then," I said and swallowed as I felt somehow sad for her. The pain I went through was enough for me to sweat. Would she be able to endure it? "Okay..." I mumbled again. "I, Alpha Leonard Luciano, reject you, Nora Edwin Watt, as my mate due to mutual agreement," I said, and she smiled. I thought she wasn't going to feel any pain until she started whimpering in pain, and she fell backward, but I was quick to catch her, and she started breathing heavily. She was groaning in pain, and her eyes were moist with tears. She was in a lot of pain, which I knew about, but I was helpless. There was nothing I could do to help her but just watch her writhe in pain until she calmed down and closed her eyes. She opened her eyes, and I helped her sit on the bed. "Are you okay now?" I asked to confirm if the pain had subsided, and she nodded her head.

"So, what will you do after this?" I questioned. "I don't know yet. I've made the mistake of marrying Maddison, but I'm going to make it right again," she said and stood up to leave. "I'm leaving now. Thanks for tonight," she added and turned to leave after bowing, but I held her hand. "You should rest for the night. You can't leave like this," I persuaded, and she stared at me for a few minutes. Thankfully, she didn't refuse this time around and only sighed. "Okay then," she replied and returned to the bed. She lay in the bed while I sat down beside her and watched her sleep.

I was still staring at her when I heard a knock on the door, and I groaned. I thought it was one of the maids until I opened the door and saw Maddison standing before me.
