Chapter 951
Molly shared a picture of Henry at the seminar in the family group chat, and Leo, with his eagle eyes, immediately spotted the little guy snuggled in his girlfriend's arms. Being the sharp one, he hopped online to investigate further... Kicking back in his chair, he propped his elbow on the armrest and rubbed his chin, musing, "How do I get this Ms. Anya to pipe down?"
"Hey, Chad, can you check if there's anything wrong with this contract?" A girl in a white dress, familiar to him, approached Leo with a document.
Leo replied, "Looks fine. And please, stop trying to get all buddy-buddy with me."
The girl was Vincent's daughter, also interning at the company. Leo didn't bother asking why she was there; his own resumes were still floating in limbo without a reply.
Feeling snubbed, the girl awkwardly went back to her seat.
Soon, another video popped up. The seminar had finally wrapped up its long-winded intro, and it was Chad's turn to take the stage. "Let's welcome Detective Squad Captain Chad," the host announced, and the back rows buzzed with excitement-some had already looked him up online and were impressed by his skills.
After being held for ages, Henry was finally put down by Molly to stretch his legs, toddling towards the stage like a little chick, thrilled with his newfound walking freedom.
As Chad got on stage, he noticed the tiny figure making its way towards him, clutching a pen in its tiny hand.
Molly and Anya quickly stepped in, scooping up Henry just in time. The students and teachers couldn't help but chuckle at how adorable the principal's son was.
Taking the mic, Chad gazed warmly at his little nephew, eyes gleaming with affection.
Henry still held out his little hand, eager to pass the pen.
Molly gently took it from him, saying, "Henry, just because you've learned to walk doesn't mean you should go overboard with it. Walk too much and no one will carry you!"
The room erupted in laughter, with eyes now on Chad, who deliberately held the microphone, showing off his wedding ring.
"Hello everyone, I'm Captain Chad from the Detective Squad. You could say I'm kind of part of the Havenbrook University family," Chad greeted casually.
"Officer Chad, are you an alum of Havenbrook University?" someone asked.
Chad waved it off, "Nah, but my wife is, and she's still studying here."
The room filled with knowing murmurs and gasps.
Molly straightened up, nudging Anya, "Do I seem dignified now?"
Anya nodded, "Absolutely!"
Chad continued with pride, "There was a campus beauty ranking, and she was on it. She brags about it all the time. If it weren't for our wedding, she'd still be topping that list. But you know who I'm talking about, right?" "Molly, our senior?"
"Definitely Molly. The principal married Andre, and she's right there in the front row today."
Hearing the whispers of admiration, Molly felt a surge of pride. Chad, normally so serious, had lightened the mood by joking about his marriage and revealing her identity, giving her a comforting sense of security.
"Yup, you got it. My wife is Molly. She knew I was coming to speak at her alma mater and insisted on attending despite being pregnant. Since the principal couldn't make it, she sent Henry as her representative to support the event. So, let's focus on the lecture. This seminar is thanks to your principal and Molly, so take notes if you need to. Class leaders are like the walls of a classroom-they're there to protect their students." Chad nailed the delivery, cleverly highlighting key points and turning his wife's actions into a charming story, with Henry representing her at the event.
"See, I told you Molly was pregnant."
"Wow, Officer Chad and Molly are such a perfect match."
Blessings rang out from the back, while Molly, leaning back with Henry in her arms, gazed lovingly at Chad on stage.
Chad and Molly exchanged a reassuring smile across the room, and he continued his talk.
Uncle Chad was giving his speech, Anya was taking notes, Henry was being mischievous, and Molly was sneakily nibbling on her nephew's rice crackers and sipping Chad's bottled water.
Meanwhile, Mia was in the classroom, watching a video of her little darling doodling with Anya's pen, which brought a smile to her face. The enrichment class ended, but no one seemed to leave. Mia had to head out.
She met up with her husband downstairs, and they settled on Crescent Park for dinner.
After the seminar, the school invited Chad to dinner, but he politely declined, holding his nephew, "I appreciate it, but I've got family waiting at home. If there's anything, you can reach out to Officer Zhou. Thanks for the cooperation
Chad called out to his niece, "Anya, heading home?"
Anya shook her head, "Uncle, I have a class meeting. Chad said he'd pick me up later."
Chad nodded, leading his wife, whose belly was starting to show, "Alright, we'll head out then. Come home soon." "Bye, uncle."
Feeling whimsical, Molly asked, "Chad, can we take a stroll around campus?"
Officer Chad: "..."
Henry, enjoying the little detour, got a tour of the school before they all headed home.
Anya organized the meeting back in class, while Leo parked at Havenbrook University and walked over to Anya's classroom, peering through the window eagerly.
Spotting her boyfriend, Anya's face lit up with a smile, eager to run into his arms but holding back because of the crowd.
Finally, as the meeting ended, Anya rushed into Leo's arms, "Chad."
Leo staggered a bit, then wrapped his arm around her neck, "Come with me."
He seemed a bit off.
Leading her to the parking lot, he gently pinned her against the car door, "Did you sneak into the seminar today, my little munchkin?"
Anya looked up at him, her boyfriend
so close yet feeling miles apart. Her back pressed against the cool car door, her heart raced with nervous excitement. Chad probably had no clue she managed a few quick kisses, too swift for any camera to catch.
Leo leaned in closer, leaving her with nowhere to go. Their bodies were mere inches apart, and Anya's cheeks turned a rosy pink, her heart fluttering with a mix of anticipation and vulnerability. "Leo, please don't crowd me."
Leo smirked and teased, "So, did you manage to give the little munchkin a kiss or not?"
