Chapter Chapter Seventeen (Akasha)
Frustrated, I leaned back against the couch, Tyr's hand still on my back. Closing my eyes, my head pounded, and my vision still had yet to return. It had not taken this long before. Maybe it was because the two visions were so close together. "Here you go." I heard Ezryn say after a door had opened and closed. Seconds later, a cloth with ice in it was placed on my forehead.
"If he is not a full Goblin, then what is he?" Gia asked.
"Don't know, but he can control elements, so he'd have to be part dragon shifter or part pixie. I am leaning more toward pixie as it would explain why he started attacking them first, wanting to take over, then again that is just a guess." I replied, doing my best to ignore my headache.
"I remember a rumor at the pixie court before the king and queen were killed." Ela shared.
"What rumor?" I asked her telepathically.
"It was just a rumor." Karm replied coldly before turning to Ela, "We were sworn to keep it a secret."
"No, we were told to take it to our grave, and we did." She corrected him.
"What?" I asked out loud.
"What are you talking about?" Gia asked.
"I'm talking to Ela." I mumbled, cringing as my head worsened.
When I didn't hear a response from Ela or Karm, I assumed they had left. I will have to ask her after.
The cold cloth helped, but the more I tried to focus my thoughts, the more painful my headache became. I could feel tears fall down my cheeks cursing I brushed them away. I refused to let anyone see my weaknesses. They needed me to be their leader.
"Let's head to our room for a bit. We can talk about this later." Ari suggested as she grabbed my arm.
"I'm not moving." I muttered as I sank lower on the couch.
"Fine, I will come get you soon. You need quiet anyway. Come on, guys." She scolded the room.
"I'll stay with her," Tyr shared as I heard footsteps and snickers from my sisters.
"Hmmm, I wonder why?" Huricana giggled.
As the room emptied, the noise left as well; I felt Tyr move beside me.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"One sec," I heard him get up and come back, sitting beside me again. "Here, drink some water, It could help."
I nodded as the rim of a cup touched my lips, and I drank some of the water. I could hear him put the glass down.
He put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me to him, letting my head rest against his chest.
"Thank you."
"How long is your vision usually gone for after you've had a vision?"
I shrugged, "Usually I'd have it back by now, but I think because my last one was only a few days ago, that it will be gone longer."
"Can you stop yourself from having a vision?"
"No, they kind of take over my mind, so there is no way to control them when they want to come. I can search for visions by reading people's spirit threads, but because of this side effect, I don't usually force a vision to come. Sometimes I connect with threads without meaning to or they connect to me if the information is important."
"I don't think I would either." He noted, as I could feel him relax and hear his steady heartbeat. After the cool cloth on my head started to ease some of the pain in my head, I dozed off feeling comfortable in his arms and safe from threats. "Akasha?" I felt someone shaking me.
"What is it?" I asked as I opened my eyes, I jumped up. My vision had returned.
"Sorry you had fallen asleep, but it is late, and I figured you might want to go back to your room."
"Sorry, I didn't mean to fall asleep on you."
"Your vision is back?" Tyr stated more than asked.
"Yeah." I smiled as a look of relief crossed his features.
"Come on, I'll take you back to your room."
"Thank you." I smiled as I walked with him out of what looked to be a drawing room or office and into the hallway.
"Are you okay?" He asked as we walked down the hallway.
"Yeah, I am. Why?"
"Your body was smoking when you had your vision, and you lost your vision. You scared the hell out of me." He stated as he stopped walking and looked down at me.
I stopped and walked up to him, "I promise I am okay. I always recover eventually."
He reached out and touched my cheek as he studied my face; he leaned down and kissed me, cupping the back of my head. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back, unable to help myself. I felt like I knew him even though we had just met a few days ago, and being with him just felt right to me.
He pulled away and smiled, "I feel the same about you."
I blushed, "You and your mind reading might be a problem."
He gave me another quick kiss, then said, "Only if you want to lie to me."
"Fair enough." I muttered as we continued down the hallway, coming to mine and my sister's door.
I opened it and stood in shock, inside was total chaos, Ari and Frey were... wrestling and arguing. She pinned him to the floor smiling, "Told you I'd win." Sunama and Huricana were drinking wine with Mohan who was watching Ari and Frey wrestle, smiling, and Gia was sitting in the corner staring daggers at the group in disapproval.
"What's going on?" I asked, as their heads turned to me.
"Your vision is back." Sunama yelled as she ran up and hugged me.
I saw Ela and Karm arguing in the corner and pretended not to see them.
I frowned, “And you are drunk." I looked around her and glared at Mohan, who shrugged and smiled.
Gia walked over, "I told them not to drink and I told Ari not to man handle Frey, but they wouldn't listen to me."
"That explains your time out." I laughed as she punched my arm.
"I wouldn't have had to man handle Frey if he wasn't a sexist jerk, he said that woman couldn't beat men in a wrestling match." Ari fumed. "I proved him wrong."
"Are you sure he didn't say that to get you to manhandle him?" I pointed out as I raised my brows.
She opened her mouth and closed it, realization crossing her features. She turned to Frey. "You pervert, you are dead." She ran at him as he avoided her, laughing and running from the room.
Tyr chuckled beside me. "Goodnight Akasha." He said, touching my arm.
"Night." I smiled up at him as he turned and left the room, Mohan following behind.
Mohan turned and whispered, "You missed quite a show."
"Be happy I wasn't here. I wouldn't have let you give my little sisters alcohol." I scolded him.
"How old are they in our realm?" he asked, alarmed.
"15 and 16." I noted as he looked ashamed.
"I am so sorry. I thought they were older."
"Everyone thinks they are, and they are bad at correcting others." I glared at my sisters as they ran into one of the rooms.
"Won't happen again. Promise." Mohan vowed. I nodded as he left the room.
"Party pooper is back." Ari stated as she walked to her room.
"So, who is where?" I asked Gia.
"Huricana and Sunama are sharing a room, she nodded to the far door. Ari has taken that room. She nodded beside me, and I am beside hers, we left the master bedroom for you." "Why?"
"Because you're the leader and it made sense, not to mention you getting cozy with the prince." She teased me. "Goodnight."
"Night," I responded, shaking my head, smiling.
Once my sisters had left, I walked over to Ela and Karm, "What are you arguing about?" I asked them.
"We weren't arguing." Ela defended.
"You were, and I will put a stop to it. What do you know about the Goblin King, what rumor did you need to protect?"
Ela and Karm looked at each other, and sighed, "The Goblin King is the son of the former Pixie Princess and the former Goblin Prince. They had run away together and when they were recovered, the princess was pregnant and instead of having the two marry, the king hid his daughter away and when she gave birth to the baby, they took him and gave him to his grandfather. The pixie King was ashamed of his daughter and grandson, and they ordered us to take the information to our graves."
"What happened to the Goblin Prince?" I asked, curious.
"He was executed when they discovered the princess was pregnant. The only reason they let the baby live was because of the Princesses' royal blood and her promise to give up the child. The goblins and pixies became enemies for this very reason."
"So, the Goblin King was trying to reclaim his stolen throne and get revenge on the pixies." I asked, and they nodded.
I had mixed feelings; I could understand his anger, but did that really warrant trying to wipe out all of us?
"I didn't wan to tell you because you, as one of the sisters of prophecy, have a duty and yes, the Pixie King made a mistake, but we need to save our people. The goblins have gone overboard with trying to take over everything. Don't let this sway your judgement." Karm shared.
"Thank you for telling me. It is a lot to digest, and I understand what you are saying."
"We will stand guard with Tyr's men, get some rest." Ela smiled.
I nodded and watched as they disappeared before turning and heading into the remaining bedroom.
Still tired, I decided I would deal with the new information tomorrow. I stripped and headed right to the bed, curling up under the comforter and falling asleep instantly on the cloudlike mattress.
