The Elemental Sisters: Spirit

Chapter Chapter Twenty-Five (Akasha)

I narrowly dogged Ari's first attack because as soon as the King ordered the fight to begin, she launched fire at me without hesitation.

Gia threw rocks towards me, which Ari encased in fire, and they whizzed past me as I dodged their attacks, hyper focused on their movements. One rock brushed my sleeve, burning the dress I was wearing. Annoyed that they had ruined one of my very few dresses, I started turning their attacks back on them with my mind, sending the flaming rocks back in their direction.

I focused on giving Ela and Karm the ability to move objects, and they began throwing the rocks back at them.

"No fair, you are using your ghost guards." Ari hissed.

"Yeah, and you and Gia are throwing things at me. What did you say before... oh yeah, all is fair in training." I grinned as Ela threw another rock at them.

Ari, focusing her fire into flame daggers, began throwing the burning weapons at me while Gia started throwing pointed branches at me, which she conjured from the ground. Ela and Karm blocked as many of the attacks as possible, and I dodged most of Ari and Gia's attacks that my spirits could not block, but one fiery tree limb pierced my leg.

"Oops sorry." Gia yelled at me with a chuckle.

I glared at her as I threw daggers at Karm and Ela. They caught the daggers and launched themselves at my sisters. My sisters pulled out their swords and blocked the attacks while I focused on entering their minds and making them believe they were under attack by multiple spirits, not just two. They fired at nothing, swinging their weapons in the air. While they were distracted, in the confusion, Karm and Ela used the hilts of the daggers to knock them unconscious. My leg stung, and all is fair in a battle. They would hear it from me later.

"Akasha wins." The King announced as the crowd cheered. Karm Picked up Gia and Ela picked up Ari and carried them to the side, placing them on the ground behind the benches.

The crowd cheered as they watched the two floating figures unable to see my spirit helpers. Taoen, on the other hand, could see them and glared at them, guess I will have to be creative in the next battle. MY spirit form and spirit helpers wouldn't be any help, really.

The minute Ari and Gia hit the ground, they awoke and jumped to their feet.

"You cheated." they yelled at me angrily.

"Pay backs a bitch." I thought to them. "You injured me. I knock you out."

I looked down at my leg. The stick was sticking through my thigh. Gia would have to mend it later. I ripped the hem of my dress and wrapped the fabric around the stick so it couldn't move. If I removed it now, I could bleed out.

"I'm really sorry." Gia thought to me.

"Don't worry about it, I should've seen it coming.

"Can you fight like that?" Ela asked me, concerned.

I looked at the King, then replied, "I don't have a choice."

"We will help you as much as we can." Karm reassured me.

"Thank you."

"Look, you broke her." Ari yelled at Gia as she punched her in the shoulder.

"By accident. I didn't mean to." Gia defended.

"Leave her alone Ari." I thought to her.

"It is now time for the last battle!" the King yelled, interrupting our conversation.

Tyr walked out into the arena, "King Halamar, how is it fair to have her fight Taoen when she is injured? Let her heal first."

"It is her fault if she is injured. If she is who she says she is, she will defeat Taoen and prove it to us. Get out of the arena."

"You are being unreasonable."

"Unreasonable? I am the King, and I can do what I want. I gave you an order, boy!!" the King boomed as Tyr flinched at the insult. Soldiers moved towards him from the side of the arena.

"It's ok. I'm fine." I told him, not wanting him to be arrested for disobeying his father.

He turned to face me, "No you are not. You're injured. He is trying to kill you."

"Move or we will execute them all as frauds." The King announced as more guards moved to stand behind my sisters, placing blades at their throats.

"Taoen won't kill me." I promised, although he looked doubtful. "Please, I don't want my sisters hurt." I pleaded with him.

He stroked my cheek and nodded with a frown before turning and heading back to the bench.

Taoen walked out to meet me in the middle of the arena, his eyes were shifting colors quickly swirling from orange to blue, turquoise, emerald and grey rapidly before settling to orange. "This should be interesting." I thought. "Begin." The King ordered.

"I'm sorry. Orders are orders." Taoen told me as flames shot out of his hands towards me, without pattern or thought. The flames seemed to bounce everywhere, creating chaos in the arena. I dodged the chaotic flames, he truly had no control over his ability, willed them by emotion alone.

Ela and Karm stood in front of me, trying to shield me from his attack. I sent more energy to them so they could wield their weapons.

Focusing on my dagger I willed my spirit to engulf it so it would become one with my body, I lunged at Taoen awkwardly my leg stinging with the movement as he dodged my blow with his sword, his eyes shifting to emerald as the ground moved beneath me sinking me into the ground.

"Shit, what am I going to do, I can't plan an attack against someone so unpredictable."

I heard a gasp from the crowd and looked down to see my body had gone into spirit form and I was floating up from the ground even as the branch that was in my leg had fallen. That was not good. If I didn't end this match quickly, I could

die.

Placing my feet back on the ground and using my adrenaline to push the pain away I ran towards Taoen, who looked baffled, swinging his head around looking for me, his eyes turned grey just as I landed a roundhouse kick to his side, and I knew he could see me. I jumped back after landing my blow, trying to dodge the sword; he swung at me. I cursed when he sliced my stomach.

Ela and Karm jumped between us and held his blade away from me.

"why are you helping her?" Taoen asked Ela, frustrated.

"We are sworn to help the Elemental Sisters." Karm snapped at him.

Partly visible again, I grabbed my swords and retaliated, swinging at him in quick succession, not giving him an opening to swing back, as Karm and Ela moved to stand beside me. I managed to slice his arms, and he dropped his sword. My vision was blurring, and I felt the four elements of my sisters surround me. I looked around me, confused, when pieces of my sister's spirits circled like an orb around me, creating a shield. I could feel their abilities become a part of me. Taoen looked at me, confused and advanced, but bounced off my shield, flying into the stone wall. He recovered quickly. I forced myself into his mind. I could see my eyes were shifting colors as quickly as his were, when I forced myself deeper into his mind, I could see his oncoming attacks. although chaotic, there was subconscious thought to them which helped me dodge them. When he used fire, I could copy using the piece of Ari's spirit that she had lent me and the same with the other elements. I could control them all to an extent enough to keep him at bay.

The battle seemed to go on forever, and I was having trouble staying awake. Finally, much to my relief, I heard the king yell. "Stop the battle."

Taoen stopped attacking, as did I. Relieved, my hand landed on my stomach, and when I pulled it away, I saw blood.

"Just great." I mumbled, sounding drunk. The pieces of spirit that I borrowed from my sisters returned to them.

"I've never seen you do that before." Ela stated, impressed.

"Didn't know I could."

"It is a draw," I heard the king announce with an air of disappointment in his voice.

I stumbled and Ela and Karm tried to catch me, but I fell through them, no longer able to lend them the energy to hold or catch objects.

"Akasha, you have to stay awake." Ela told me panicked. "Good, it's over." I sighed as I collapsed to the ground. "Akasha!!!" I heard Tyr yell before I lost consciousness.
