Chapter Billionaire With Husband 93
Chapter 93
Hugo had the confidence to speak that way because he had the power to realize such a
threat.
The Lambert family was one of the most prominent families in Avesburgh, only a step behind the Kinsley family, the wealthiest in the city. Shutting down a small business like Warren's would be a simple matter for him.
The shock on Warren's and Nattie's faces made it clear that they realized Hugo wasn't joking
"Mr. Lambert, are you talking about Felix Zeller?" Nattie asked, lost in disbelief.
"What? Did I mispronounce something?"
Nattie became anxious as Hugo confirmed his own statement.
"If you've got a grudge against Felix, take it up with him! What does this have to do with us?
Hugo laughed.
"What's this? Still trying to play innocent in front of me? I know exactly what your relationship with Felix is. When you want to take someone down, you hit where it hurts most. If I'm going to deal with Felix, of course I'm going to go after his weakest points." Hugo wasn't like the brainless second-generation heirs who would just send people to rough Felix up. What was the point of that? This wasn't some old-school society where every issue was solved with violence. That was ridiculous! Just as Nattie was about to protest further, Warren stepped in, cutting her off. "To be honest with you, Mr. Lambert, I used to treat Felix like my own son. His father and I were practically brothers. But because of certain things, we both have completely fallen out." Warren sighed.
Felix had a knack for attracting trouble. He hadn't even been back in Avesburgh for long, yet he'd already made so many enemies, and each one was more powerful than the last. "You can leave now," Hugo said flatly.
It was obvious he didn't believe them. Nattie, now desperate, blurted out, "My husband's telling the truth! Mr. Lambert, have you even done your research? Felix is related to Lord Kane." Kane? Hugo narrowed his eyes. Even if the richest family in the city was involved, he wasn't going to let Felix off the hook. But now, Kane was involved?
"Felix might have some family ties to Lord Kane, but we're not saying this to threaten you,

Mr. Lambert. We just want to be clear that we've cut all ties with Felix. Whatever you want to do with him, that's your business. "Please don't drag us into it. Even if my husband's company goes under, Felix won't lose a wink of sleep over it."
Hugo could sense a different tone creeping into Nattie's voice. It felt like an insult, as if she thought he was intimidated by Kane.
"By sunset," Hugo repeated coldly. "I'm not joking. If Felix isn't out of Avesburgh by then, I'll personally shut your company down.
"And as for Lord Kane? Do you really think the Lambert family is afraid of him? Even if he showed up in person, I'd say the same thing." Nattie was terrified. Did the Lambert family have some hidden backer that could stand up to someone as powerful as Kane?
""Nattie, let's go."
There was no point in dragging this out further. Staying any longer would just be a waste of time.
"Call Felix! Why should our family have to pay for the trouble he's caused? Hasn't he done enough damage to Sasha after what happened last time?" Nattie fumed as they left.
This whole ordeal had convinced her once and for all that she needed to keep Sasha away from Felix. It didn't matter if he was related to Kane.
Someone like Felix, who constantly attracted trouble, was bound to get himself into a mess even Kane couldn't save him from. And when that happened, their entire family would be caught in the fallout.
"Leave it. I'll handle it," Warren replied. "Remember. We're no longer involved with Felix. Don't bother him."
In truth, Warren regretted the way things had gone down. The slap from last time still weighed heavily on his conscience. He hadn't bothered to find out the truth before acting. How could he ever face Matthew in the afterlife after that? If losing his business could put an end to the feud between him and Felix, then at least he'd be feeling less guilty.
