Chapter 9. Staring at his nudity
"I need the files concerning the new project at hand," Damon ordered Alan.
Damon, sitting in his office and staring earnestly at his computer screen. Something doesn't seem right with Katie and he knew it. When there were little, he'd known she was his mate but now, when he's seeing her again, he couldn't quite sense what was wrong. He didn't feel anything as the matin bind and that left him baffled.
"Um... the files are on the company's private system and only you can access it" Alan replied.
Damon nodded his head and sat up straight. "Tell the cooks to prepare dinner, I'm coming home in time today.
"
Alan had been Damon's assistant since they were kids and knew him well. Even though he was cold and cruel on the outside, he knew he had a soft spot on him that someone was yet to melt. Damon had always been a strong man. Masculine by nature even without the help of the gym, he was for to the core. His jawline and features are like that of a male model. This man was strikingly handsome and had many women flowing at his feet but he didn't have the urge to go out with any of them. Although he had gone out on several dates and had a real thing with one of them, which later ended sadly because she cheated on him. He then made her bankrupt for life. That was how cruel he was.
Alan strode towards Damon and tapped him on the shoulder. Damon turned around to glare at him.
"What is it this time?" He asked.
"Can't you just let this slide? You're taking it hard on yourself" Alan said.
"What do you mean by that?" He asked stern-faced.
Alan sighed. "Ever since that date with Miss Katie, you've seemed off and not yourself," Alan said.
"What makes you think that? As long as I know, I'm perfectly fine and Intact." Damon said and smiled coldly, the smile not reaching his eyes.
He wished damn as hell that he'd figure just this one thing out.

Ronnie knocks at Daniel's door and waited for a response. She heard none.
"Hello doc, I'm coming in." She said and opened the door. She was amazed by how big his office is. It was at most, bigger than her own house. She knew it was not how she was brought up but she couldn't help surveying the place. She walked around the room and glanced at the gold trophies in his office. It was a fancy-looking room rather than an office.
She saw a door painted gold and decided to take a peak. She slowly opened the door widely and looked in. Jason was taking his bath.
"Holy sh*t," Jason screamed.
"Oh my, am so sorry." She gasped.
"Ok." He replied.
"I didn't know you were in there." She said without attempting to close the door.
"I heard you the first time. Now can you kindly close the door? You're staring at my nudity." He screamed at her while trying to cover himself. She reddened and closed her eyes. "Oh, that. Sorry." She said and immediately slammed the door.
"Why are people in this hospital so weird?" He said and smiled wickedly.
Ronnie walked to the seat in his office and sat down, touching her face which had gone from warm to hot, then extremely hot.
"Oh my, what did I just do? Stupid, stupid. I should have known that was the bathroom." She said, slapping her face.
She sat down for some minutes and started getting up to go back to her mum's ward when she heard him behind her. "I thought I told you to come to my office, are you tired of sitting?" He asked without smiling.
Ronnie looked at him stupified. "Umm...no...I...I...you know... thought you...umm..were..not...um...gonna..." She stuttered.
"Is something wrong?" He asked professionally.
"No, nothing." She said sharply.
"For once there, I thought you might have some infections on your throat." He said and she stiffened.
She looked at him as if trying to figure out what was on his mind but failed as his face was expressionless.
He sat down on his armchair and opened a file that looked like Bianca's.
"So, the reason I called you is because of your mother's illness." He said.
Ronnie looked at his blank expression. "Is anything else wrong with her?"
"Not one I could find. She's ok. I'm just talking about her rest. I want you to make her rest as long as possible. Don't let her do manual labor as it is going to be hard treating her next time." He said. Ronnie nodded.
"I think her ailment is gonna get worse if she does anything stressful. I'm just telling you this so you won't lose her." He said.
Ronnie smiled at him. "I'll take note of all these things you're telling me." She said and made to go out of the office. "Wait," Daniel said.
Ronnie paused in the track.
"It's been two weeks now." He started.
"Two weeks what?" She asked.
He started walking towards her. Ronnie's heart accelerated automatically and she stepped back. She slammed her body on the wall with Jason towering over her.
"It's been two weeks since you've started coming here, you've never come to my office and when you do, the first thing you do is walk on me when I'm having my bath. Isn't that unique?" He said and looked intently at her. Ronnie gulped. "Believe me, I didn't mean for that to happen, I was just checking out your office." She said.
"Or you waited until I got into the bathroom, then you came in to watch me. What a sly girl you are." He said.
"I didn't, I was only checking it out." She defended.
"And why would you check out my office?" He asked.
Ronnie closed her eyes and bit her lips. Daniel looked at her lips and resisted the urge to kiss her. He let her go.
"I think your mum would be waiting for you now." He said and turned his back to her and walks to his desk.
Ronnie didn't spare the chance to look at him and fled out of the office. She didn't look back until she was right there at her mother's ward.
