Chapter 127 –
"Bea, you're the first of us to marry! How did you make Eric so smitten with you that he wants to marry you?"
"You don't realize it yet, but Bea is already pregnant! She won't be able to fit into a wedding gown if they don't get married soon."
"Really?! Congratulations! This is twice the fun!"
"In the future, you'll need to keep a firm grip on your man's wallet!"
Ivy noticed her eyelids twitch. She turned to the side to look at Brad, who appeared to have just eaten a pile of garbage. Her lips were pursed. "Do you think we should still go in?" Brad gave a cold snort. "Of course!"
Following that, he raised his hand and pushed the door open. He instantly smiled, his other hand resting gently on Ivy's shoulder like a gentleman.
They did appear to be quite intimate.
Ivy exclaimed very cooperatively. "Oh no, we've entered the wrong room!"
Her voice was soft and sweet, with no hint of coldness. She quickly drew everyone's attention.
Brad came to a halt when he noticed the crowd in the room.
"Right, my apologies."
He cast a glance at Beatrice, who was engulfed in a crowd. His gaze was drawn to her as if he was surprised to see her. He had a playful smile and a dark light in his eyes in an instant. "What a fortuitous coincidence! Aren't you an old friend?" Brad inquired; his teeth clenched.
Beatrice was dressed nicely and cheerfully accepted everyone's admiration and blessing. There were many women around wealthy young men like Eric Todd, but only a few rose to the top. She was on her way to becoming one of them. She had the sensation that she was above everyone and that her head was stuck in the clouds.
She froze in place when she saw Brad Cooper, as if she had just seen a ghost. Her blood began to boil and she screamed in terror.
Eric Todd was unaware of her past. None of them did.
Ivy and Brad, who were well-known due to their appearance on the variety show, were recognized by some of her friends.
"Good morning, Ms. Morgan! What a happy coincidence!"
"Do you know Beatrice, Mr. Cooper?"
Brad was wearing a sly grin on his face. "We not only know each other, but we're also quite close."
Beatrice's face tensed, as did her heart.
Ivy cracked a grin.
The woman who spoke to her appeared to be familiar, but she had no idea whom she was talking to.
Ivy had probably seen her at a party or event before, based on her expensive clothes.
"Yes, what are you celebrating, girls?"
"It's Beatrice's bachelorette party tonight before she marries Eric Todd! Why don't you join us now that you're here?"
It was an honor and a step up the social ladder to be able to invite Ivy to their party!
Ivy turned to face Beatrice, who was standing nearby. She appeared so ordinary and docile that it was difficult to recall her solely on appearances.
She smiled, looked at Brad, and tugged on his sleeve affectionately. Her voice was delicate and soft. "Let's stay and have a seat! It's a very lively place here." Brad gave her an adoring smile. "Fine, whatever you want."
Everyone was taken aback by this scene. Their expressions changed instantly, and Ivy and Brad's interaction did not appear to be that of ordinary friends. Some people's gazes were drawn subconsciously to the adjoining private room, and someone couldn't help but wonder, "You're both together now?" Ivy smiled and took Brad's arm, but she remained silent on the question.
Others, however, saw her silence as an admission.
Brad's hand was on her shoulder, so that explained everything. No man would put his hand on a woman's shoulder casually.
The private room was deafeningly quiet.
Beatrice's face grew uglier as she heard this. She abruptly raised her hand and pointed to Ivy, who was standing next to Brad.
Her tone was abrasive, sarcastic, and mean. "So, she's the wealthy woman you've become acquainted with?"
The women present, who were giddy with excitement, instantly froze when such obnoxious words were spoken. It was too late to put a stop to Beatrice.
Beatrice had a sneaking suspicion that Brad would not let her go easily. The hidden rage in his eyes had not faded since the moment he saw her. She made the decision right away to draw a clear line with him by demeaning his self-esteem.
"Are you so vain as to degrade yourself in such a way?"
Ivy's expression was the first thing the crowd noticed.
Ivy kept her smile to herself. She only had to be a good prop.
Brad would handle the rest.
"How can you say such a thing about Ms. Morgan's friend, Bea?" A woman next to Melanie became concerned and took a close look at Ivy's face. She yanked on Beatrice's clothes to remind her to look at who was standing next to the man she wanted to insult. Not to mention that person's name was Ivy Morgan!
Beatrice became terrified when she realized what had happened. She was so preoccupied with how to humiliate Brad that she almost forgot about Ivy's status.
Brad sneered as her face turned pale and she tried to say something to redeem herself.
"Am I shameless? I'm much better than you, okay?"
The people in the area watched as the situation grew increasingly tense. They were perplexed by Brad and Beatrice's bitter feud.
Beatrice opened her mouth and felt a tingle on her scalp.
Was Brad afraid to tell Ivy about their past if they were together?
Her eyes flitted a little. Brad didn't give her the chance to say anything just as she was about to.
"I just found out you're pregnant and getting married tomorrow. Congratulations."
Brad appeared to be having a good time torturing Beatrice to death.
"But... Can you pay back what you owe me before you get married? After all, my girlfriend dislikes the fact that my money is in the hands of strangers."
Beatrice's expression changed dramatically. The people around them looked at them as if they didn't want to get involved in this mess.
It was clear that it was not so simple!
Ivy smiled, then cast a thoughtful glance at Beatrice. She pretended to be surprised and asked him in an angry yet naive tone. "How come your money is in her hands?"
Brad pressed his lips together. A voice from the adjoining private room interrupted him before he could finish his sentence. This book has many missing chapters and scenes if you're not reading it on [J] obnib. c [o] m .The tone of the voice was icy. "Ivy, why did you bring someone here to look for trouble?"
It was Eric Todd. His face was dissatisfied at the time, and he was holding back his rage.
Eric would have had someone evict Ivy if it hadn't been for Wyatt and the Morgan family's support.
Duke Elrod and Wyatt Reed trailed him.
Ivy was taken aback to see Wyatt here.
Wyatt's face was dark and cold at this point. Even his eyes were as deep as the ocean. So many emotions were screamed into his eyes, but he desperately suppressed them.
Did that mean Wyatt heard all of those words the moment they entered the room?
Ivy was lost in thought for a moment before looking away as if nothing had happened. She fixed her gaze on Eric.
"How's this looking for trouble? They're just old acquaintances catching up."
Eric was never Ivy's favorite, so if this ruined his wedding, he deserved it!
Wyatt, on the other hand, was not afraid of him and simply ignored him.
Eric's piercing gaze fell on Brad. "Old acquaintances? It doesn't appear to be the case."
Beatrice trotted over, looking as if she'd found her savior, and grumbled, "Eric, it's good that Ms. Morgan and Mr. Cooper are together. I didn't think before speaking."
