The Billionaire’s Regret

Chapter 128 –

Ivy curled her lips and cast a glance at Brad.

"We have no intention of disrupting your bachelor party, but we'll leave once he's finished asking for what he's owed."

Brad let out a light laugh and was about to say something when Beatrice interrupted him with her suppressed rage.

"Mr. Cooper, while we had some disagreements, please consider the nature of the occasion. My fiancé is the CEO of Todd Corporation, which has assets worth hundreds of millions of dollars. His friends are all dignitaries, so do you think you'll come out okay if you mess with our marriage?"

This was a clear threat, implying that Brad couldn't afford to offend any of the people in the room!

Ivy raised an eyebrow, baffled. 'This Beatrice only appears docile, doesn't she?'

Even Eric Todd was taken aback by Beatrice's demeanor, as she had always been very soft-spoken.

The surrounding area had gone completely silent. Someone even turned off the music.

Brad was not at all scared when he heard Beatrice's threat. Instead, he sneered and clenched his teeth.

"Are you threatening me? You'd always thought I was a bad explorer. Is that why you stole my money and fled? Just to hook up with a rich kid?"

"Stop talking!"

"What?"

Eric and Beatrice both spoke at the same time.

One of them was nervous and scared, while the other was perplexed and shocked.

Beatrice yanked on Eric's arm hurriedly. "Don't believe what he said, Eric. He's a deceiver! I've never met him. We've been through a lot, and now that we're finally together, the most important thing is that we trust each other, right?" Eric's tense brow drooped slightly as if moved by Beatrice's words.

On the other hand, with extreme anger, Brad's laughter became even more arrogant and reckless.

"My advice to Mr. Todd is not to believe her. If you do, you'll just end up like me."

Eric had a hideous expression on his face.

On one side was the well-mannered and quiet Beatrice, whom Eric had pursued for a long time before finally catching her.

Brad Cooper, who was with Ivy Morgan, was on the other side. His logic told him that he couldn't trust anyone with Ivy, but his intuition told him that something was wrong.

Eric looked at Brad while patting Beatrice's hand. His eyes were dark, and his voice was sharp and cold.

"You must accept responsibility for what you have said. If you dare to accuse my fiancée falsely, I will not let you off the hook, regardless of whom you've become acquainted with." When Eric said this, he cast a sidelong glance at Ivy, who was standing nearby.

Brad laughed lightly and was straightforward.

"Before we even broke up, this woman took my money and bought you a gift. It was a tie clip worth $60,000. Did she tell you she earned it through hard work and study?"

Brad simply wanted to state the facts and expose Beatrice's true colors, and he did so without emotion.

Eric's eyes narrowed as he looked at him. His expression was tense.

That is precisely what happened!

Beatrice raised her head in surprise.

"Stop talking! Don't believe him, Eric. Don't pay attention to him any longer. Let's get him out of here, okay?"

Eric didn't say anything, but he was upset.

Ivy couldn't stop herself from laughing. Her tone was firm and cold. "Are you guilty? That you no longer dare to listen to it?"

Beatrice had an ashen complexion. When she looked up and met Ivy's eyes, it was as if she saw a sharp blade glinting coldly in them. She became terrified and immediately averted her gaze.

"Don't worry," Brad said slowly. "If you don't believe me, Mr. Todd, go ahead and check. She used my credit card to repurchase everything then! She also bought you more than $50,000 in gifts, scarves, mugs, clothes, and you name it. It's all documented. She took all of the cash from my card, which had $300,000 on it at the time, while I was at work. She thought that was all I had, so she dumped me after withdrawing the money."

Brad locked his gaze on Beatrice, who had played him for a fool back then. He realized he had done something wrong and returned to apologize.

On the other hand, Brad only saw Beatrice and Eric flirting and walking out of the hotel room hand in hand. It is evident that this was not the first time. Later, when Brad went to find Beatrice to settle accounts, she mysteriously transferred to another college and vanished.

She had abandoned him!

Beatrice was no longer alive in Brad's eyes. It was simply a lifetime of embarrassment for him.

Beatrice and Brad drew the attention of the stunned audience. They didn't expect such a commotion the night before Beatrice and Eric's wedding. This drama was also huge!

Eric's fists were tightly clenched. His body was tense, and the bottom of his eyes had a frightening chill. Nobody knew what he was thinking at the time. Beatrice clung to Eric's arm with trepidation. "No, I did not deceive you! I like you a lot."

Eric stood motionless. His expression was solemn and bitterly cold.

Beatrice clenched her teeth and turned to face Brad.

"It's only a few hundred thousand dollars! Why are you so bold as to sabotage my happiness? What's the harm in paying me a moral damage fee when we split up?" Everyone looked at her oddly. Beatrice was so enraged that her whole body trembled as she rebuked Brad.

"Didn't you want to marry me back then? How can you marry if you don't have any money? Who would want to be with you?!"

Beatrice sneered as she looked at Ivy. "Aren't you also hooking up with a wealthy woman right now? How much more righteous are you than I?"

Ivy grinned. Her eyes were razor-sharp. "So, you cheated on Brad and dumped him because Mr. Todd was wealthier than him?"

"That's what a normal person would choose," Beatrice yelled out but quickly regretted it. Her expression became solemn.

She turned stiffly to face Eric, whose face was already icy and gloomy at this point. His eyes were filled with rage.

Eric was never a gentle person in the first place. Because of Beatrice's tenderness, he gradually fell in love with her and learned to control his temper. But, in the end, all of this tenderness was a mirage. The environment around him was gloomy. Everyone had a worried expression on their face. The soon-to-be Mrs. Todd turned out to be a liar and a cheater.

Brad took a deep breath and immediately felt much better.

No matter how good Beatrice was at pretending, she was always going to be discovered. She simply did not anticipate that this day would arrive so quickly. Her agitated expression indicated that she was on the verge of collapsing.

Brad chuckled; his eyes bright with relief.

"Well, I guess I'm just unlucky-those thousands and thousands of dollars. I'll just treat it like I'm giving it to the dogs. Congratulations on your pregnancy, by the way. A shotgun marriage is an excellent choice! It's no surprise that the other high-society ladies can't compete with you."

Beatrice's pregnancy had a clear purpose.

Her eyes trembled. Her blood began to boil. These words shocked Eric as well.

What Eric mistook for an accident turned out to be Beatrice's hidden agenda.

Eric's face was flushed with repressed rage as he looked at Beatrice. He then turned to face Brad. "You done?" he asked, his voice laced with dissatisfaction.

Brad pursed his lips and patted Ivy on the shoulder. Like a gentleman, he nodded slightly. "Please pardon us. I hope our presence hasn't ruined your good mood. Congratulations on your wedding!"

The audience was taken aback.

'How can this couple be so happy?'

'What a shock!'

Ivy chuckled and rested her chin on Brad's chest. Her eyes flitted. "By the way, allow me to introduce you to Brad Cooper. He is not a beggar. He is the only son of BC Corporation, the well-known adventure brand Sportive owner. Because their business is entirely international, it's possible that you didn't find out, Beatrice. So, he wasn't just hooking up with me for the money."

Ivy emphasized the words "hooking up" in particular.
