The Billionaire’s Regret

Chapter 129 –

Ivy's words were like a bomb exploding in the crowd.

BC Corporation was ten times larger than Todd Corporation and had a large international presence.

Beatrice's face flushed, and her eyes widened in disbelief. She'd misplaced the real thing while picking up pennies. The others were also taken aback and exchanged glances.

Such a wealthy young man from an illustrious family kept his true identity hidden so well.

Ivy was unconcerned about how they would react. She just walked out of Brad's private room.

As soon as they left, they heard a loud shattered glass sound from inside, followed by Beatrice's sobbing explanation.

Ivy and Brad exhaled a sigh of relief and simultaneously let go of each other's hands as they walked out of the corridor. They then exchanged a friendly smile.

"How did you find out about my background?" Brad couldn't help but wonder because he was surprised that she knew.

Ivy cocked her brow. "Vince informed me."

Brad muttered a curse. "That motherfucker is too untrustworthy!"

"Well, saying this is the only way to suffocate her wounds, so don't try to hide it!"

Brad was unconcerned about this.

A set of calm and heavy footsteps caught up to them before they got to their private room. From behind, a cold voice spoke. "Are you really leaving like that?"

It was Wyatt Reed.

They both came to a complete halt. Ivy turned around and cocked her brow.

"Shouldn't you be comforting your friend, Mr. Reed? "What brings you here?"

Eric Todd, the arrogant and conceited, finally got what he deserved.

Wyatt's expression was gloomy and sullen. His eyes were narrowed, and he exuded an oppressive aura.

"You guys came here on purpose to cause trouble, right?"

Wyatt swept an intimidating chill across Brad's face.

Brad shrugged, neither admitting nor denying it. "Are you here to cause trouble, Mr. Reed?"

Wyatt gave a cold snort. His eyes were filled with scorn, and his voice was icy.

"I'm not concerned with such trivial matters. I'm just worried about Ivy... As well as you." He met Ivy's gaze with dark, probing, and deep eyes.

Wyatt wasn't close enough to Eric to avenge him. He only came to the bachelor party because Duke dragged him there. He felt a sense of urgency and was extremely uncomfortable from the moment Brad and Ivy entered the private room with such an intimate gesture and supportive yet tacit communication. As a result, he needed to be certain.

Ivy inhaled deeply. "Don't you think you care too much, Mr. Reed?"

"I don't think it's too much," he stated flatly.

Wyatt never imagined that other men would stand by Ivy's side because no one was more qualified than him.

Wyatt's heart clenched when he saw Brad standing there earlier, getting acknowledged by Ivy. Jealousy raged in his heart and tore at his chest.

Wyatt admitted that he was terrified. He locked his gaze on Brad. His eyes were filled with an overwhelming threat and quick inquiry, and the air was shrouded in a dense chill. "Are you guys serious?"

Wyatt would not hesitate to murder Brad if this were the case.

Brad lowered his gaze slightly and cast a glance at Ivy.

"It's best if Ivy tells you this."

Wyatt spoke with a clear, cold voice before Ivy could say anything.

"Mr. Cooper, may I speak with her alone?"

For a brief moment, Brad's body stiffened. Wyatt's coldness and suppressed rage were palpable to him. It was dangerous and intimidating, like a leopard ready to rip its prey apart. Wyatt, on the other hand, appeared gentle and poised.

It was as if Brad's brief chill had been a figment of his imagination.

Ivy smiled at Brad because she didn't drag him into the squabble between her and Wyatt. "You may return first."

Brad cocked his brow, nodded, and turned to walk away. Wyatt's gaze at Ivy was filled with love, so he was not concerned that Ivy would be in danger.

For a brief moment, the air was deafeningly quiet.

Ivy could hear cries for help and consolation coming from Eric's private room and people leaving one by one.

However, because the semi-enclosed space obscured their view, no one noticed Ivy and Wyatt standing in the comer.

"Ivy, you really want to abandon me?"

Wyatt stared at her with his deep, bottomless eyes. His voice was bitter and hoarse as if his throat had been sanded with sandpaper.

Ivy's chest felt jolted as if she had been electrocuted. The agony was dramatic and numbing.

Wyatt's words broke Ivy's heart.

'How could I feel so sorry for Wyatt Reed?!' Ivy pressed her lips together. Her eyes became a little achy.

She quickly tried to ignore the sensation and raised her head to meet his gaze. She pressed her lips together coldly.

"It's good that you're aware of this."

The man's comers were bright red. His lips were pressed into a straight line, and his tall, upright figure appeared to be incredibly lonely.

Wyatt wanted to threaten her, but Ivy was unfazed. He wanted to show weakness, but she wasn't broken-hearted.

Wyatt felt helpless when confronted with Ivy.

Duke rushed over when he heard a commotion outside the private room.

"Wyatt, hurry up! Eric is dragging Beatrice to the hospital-Oh, Ivy is still here?"

As a greeting, Ivy gave a faint smile. She didn't say anything else and turned to walk away. Her leaving back looked so determined and isolated.

Wyatt's only thought was of Ivy's uninterested gaze, which pierced his heart. He didn't yell or lose his cool. The emotions in his eyes had also faded, and he appeared very calm.

His fists, however, were tightly clenched, causing the veins in his arms to bulge, revealing his suppressed waves of anger.

Duke called out to him, but he didn't move; he could tell what was up.

Wyatt abruptly turned and left as Duke was about to say some words of comfort.

Duke called to him several times, but he could see the storm brewing in Wyatt's eyes and had a bad feeling about it. He was about to pursue Wyatt when he heard more screams from Colton's private room. As a result, Duke dashed back into the room to assist.

Ivy went back into Vince's private room. When Brad saw her, he knew Wyatt had returned in defeat.

In most cases, the person who compromises first is the one who is most committed.

Vince had ordered a bottle of vintage Chateau d'quis for Ivy, but she wasn't in the mood to drink. And all she could think about was Wyatt's reddened eyes, which made her uneasy. 'Did I overdo it?'

On the other hand, Wyatt would have to face reality sooner or later. She'd have a boyfriend one day, and he'd marry someone else.

Eric Todd's private room was a few rooms away from theirs and quite far from the corridor.

No one noticed that the building's layout was an irregular S-shape. As a result, their balcony was only subsequent to Eric's balcony. Ivy stepped out onto the balcony to get some fresh air.

Duke, who was standing on his balcony, saw Ivy and quickly hid behind the curtains. He didn't want to face this majesty right now.

Brad approached her and handed her a glass of Chateau d'quis.

"Bad mood?"

Ivy smiled as she took it over. She looked out the window at the traffic and noticed the fog that had engulfed the entire city. "I'm not in as good a mood as you are."

Brad couldn't stop laughing. "Right, because you performed admirably." He took his glass and clinked his feet with her. He then raised his glass and drank the entire contents.

Ivy drank a sip of wine. It was sweet and mellow, with just the right amount of richness. Her tongue was tinged with the stench of alcohol.

"You also did a good job of playing along. We appear to be a real couple."

Perhaps his rage motivated him to work harder.

Duke was so terrified of being discovered by Ivy that his legs began to quiver.

The two people on the balcony finally left after a long time.

Duke shook and quickly pulled out his phone to send the voice recording to Wyatt.

Wyatt could finally relax this time.

Wyatt noticed the notification and clicked on it.

"Right, because you performed admirably." Brad Cooper's voice was heard.

"You also did a good job of playing along. We appear to be a real couple." Ivy's voice was heard.

The two people unconsciously unlinked their glasses.

Wyatt's body stiffened for a moment as he listened to it repeatedly. The stuffiness in his chest had vanished. His eyes had lost their gloom and rage. He clenched his teeth. It was discovered to be a forgery. He let out a sigh of relief and leaned back in his seat. As he closed his eyes, he felt at ease.

He abruptly opened his eyes and gave the driver instructions.

"Get Ken to return."

Wyatt no longer had to be concerned about Brad because their relationship was a sham. The raging storm that had been brewing in Wyatt had abruptly turned into clear skies. "Yes, Sir." The driver didn't want to waste any more time.
