The Billionaire’s Regret

Chapter 130 –

Ivy partied with them until after 1:00 a.m. and won a lot of poker games.

Even though Ivy could see that everyone was deliberately allowing her to win, she couldn't stop herself from playing round after round. Ivy finally stopped when she saw Mirasol's dark eye circles and pitiful eyes from losing so much.

Ivy slept until mid-morning the next day. She was wise to lock Simba out of the house last night so no one could bother her.

The sun crept lazily onto Ivy's face, but she simply turned around and continued to sleep.

Her phone abruptly rang.

'Damn, I forgot to turn it off!'

Ivy picked up the phone irritably because the ringing was constant. She was even more speechless when she saw the caller ID.

"Windy Adams, do you have something against me that you won't let me sleep?"

Windy was stunned for a few seconds before bursting out laughing.

"Do you realize what you've missed while sleeping?"

"What?"

"It's Eric's wedding! It's a different bride!"

Ivy was taken aback by the news. She took a breather. "Huh?"

"I heard Eric's fiancée's ex-boyfriend showed up last night at their bachelor party. I'm not sure what he said, but Eric dragged his fiancée to the hospital, where they discovered she wasn't even pregnant!" Windy just kept pouring the tea so fast that Ivy couldn't keep up.

"Eric's bride is now this rich girl from a nearby city who has been chasing him for a long time. She comes from an intellectual family and isn't as wealthy as the Todds, but she's a lot better than the last one." Ivy's drowsiness dissipated.

Windy had no idea Ivy had been with that ex-boyfriend the night before. She had no idea this would cause so much uproar.

Ivy assumed that if Eric found out, he would at the very least cancel the wedding. She had no idea Beatrice was faking the pregnancy or that Eric would simply change his bride overnight.

Eric did not appear to want to forgive Beatrice.

Ivy pressed her lips together. "How can that new bride possibly be willing to marry him?"

Windy asked sarcastically, "How is she not willing? I heard she was the one who approached Eric, and he said yes. The Todds will be unable to find another girl in our circle willing to marry their son. Who doesn't realize what a jerk Eric is? No one will subject their daughter to this ordeal."

Ivy was deafeningly quiet for a while. 'That's right.

Ivy rolled out of bed after a few minutes of chit-chat with Windy.

It was nearly noon. Ivy planned to stop for lunch near the office before heading to work to inquire about Marco Seely's investigation status.

When she was halfway there, she received a call from Greg informing her that Marco Seely had arrived at Columbia University.

Ivy dashed toward the university without further ado.

Everyone was talking about this big shot, so Ivy inquired and discovered that he was giving a speech to the students. She dashed to the auditorium but was taken aback as soon as she stepped through the door.

The auditorium was so crowded that all of the seats were taken. Some people were even standing in the back.

Everyone seemed to be very curious about this Wall Street bigwig Marco Seely and wanted to see what he looked like.

Ivy was torn as she stood there. She wasn't sure whether to go in or not, and she was hesitant to squat at the door. Someone suddenly beckoned to her in a clear and mellow voice.

"Ivy, please come here."

Wyatt Reed sat in the middle of the first row, wearing an expensive custom-made suit and a watch worth several houses. He exuded such a noble and confident demeanor that he seemed out of place in this crowded auditorium. There was an open seat beside him, but no one dared to take it.

Anyone approaching him felt seditious.

Ivy was taken aback for a moment and paused for two seconds before walking over.

Making money was unquestionably more important to her than her hatred for him.

Ivy would never turn down a chance to make a lot of money.

"What brings you here?" Ivy inquired in a not-so-kind and gentle tone.

Wyatt smiled and said slowly, "Of course, for the same reason you're here."

Needless to say, the unspoken agreement between businesspeople was based solely on mutual interest. Their common goal was to find the same person-Marco Seely.

Ivy approached and sat down. She could smell his minty cologne because they were so close.

Their stunning looks naturally drew a lot Fattention. They were a fantastic match for outsiders.

"Mr. Reed, you don't have to come to this personally, do you?"

"Are you not also present, Ms. Morgan?" He lowered his voice, which was both pleasant to the ear and enticing.

Ivy cast a sidelong glance at him.

Wyatt appeared calm, confident, and cold as usual, but something felt off. He looked nothing like he did the day before when his eyes were red.

'Why is he no longer sad?'

While Ivy was perplexed, Wyatt turned to meet her gaze. His eyes were so soft. He seemed to have only her in his sights and smiled. "Are you in love with my face?"

Ivy was taken aback and rolled her eyes. 'What a self-righteous jerk!'

Wyatt's smile deepened, which no one had ever seen before. He was actually happy!

"If you like it, feel free to look at it for a little longer. I'm not going to laugh. I swear."

'How thick-skinned is he to say such things?' Ivy clenched her teeth and averted her gaze.

"Wyatt Reed, you should look up what humility means."

Wyatt laughed from his chest, not angry in the least. He was in a good mood because Ivy spoke to him more than twice today.

The students who could hear their conversation were taken aback, and their jaws dropped.

With his sharp, warning gaze, that iceberg of a man rejected anyone who had intended to sit next to him earlier.

His attitude shifted angles in the blink of an eye!

Was it because they weren't as attractive as Ivy?

Ivy was cursing and mocking Wyatt, while the latter simply smiled and accepted whatever she said.

Their interaction was odd and vague.

Ivy was getting antsy after ten minutes of waiting. When a tutor came in to make an announcement, her mouth began to dry up.

"Students, Mr. Seely has an urgent matter to attend to, so he has left the university. Everyone is free to spread."

"What?!"

Everyone stood up and walked out with their heads bowed.

Ivy, too, was dissatisfied and stood up to leave. Before she got to the door, she was bumped by a boy in front of her who was eager to get out. She stumbled forward unconsciously, but a hand quickly encircled her waist to keep her still. She knew who it was as soon as she saw the watch on the hand that was circling her waist.

Ivy only raised her head to look at Wyatt, who was dragging her to the door. His towering and well-muscled frame completely blocked the exit.

As he glared at the boy next to them, his sharp eagle eyes were dangerous and oppressive. He didn't yell, but his demeanor exuded awe-inspiring authority.

The people in the area were afraid to move. As he stood there, the boy shuddered and cowered. Wyatt's glare had already scared him to death. One, two, three seconds...

The boy suddenly realized his error and turned to face Ivy. He blushed and stuttered. "Oh... I'm sorry... I didn't intend to hit you. Please accept my apologies." "It's okay," Ivy said with a smile. "Just go."

Wyatt, who had concealed his intimidating coldness and made way for the crowd, caught her eye, but no one dared to pass.

Ivy pursed her lips and smiled as she walked out under everyone's watchful gaze.

Wyatt kept up a steady pace.

Ivy's pace quickened unconsciously as they neared the end of the campus.

Wyatt approached her and called out to her. "Are you up for lunch?"

"I don't have an appetite when I'm eating with you," Ivy admitted.

Wyatt remained silent for a brief moment. He casually said in a low voice, playfully hooking up the corners of his lips into a charming smile.

"So, with whom do you have an appetite?"

Ivy's eyelids twitched as if she was trying to annoy Wyatt.

"Of course, with my new boyfriend!"

'This jerk needs to learn how to back off!'
